"WARNING_ Cancellation is not credited to your payment method. You get a credit for future flight only good for 1 year."
"I paid for cancellation protection, but instead of receiving a refund, I was only given credit for a future flight valid for one year. This important detail was not clearly stated during booking—it simply mentioned 'no fee for change or cancellation.' Very misleading and disappointing."
"Westjet is pretty decent"
It’s great to hear your experience with WestJet exceeded expectations, especially after reading so many mixed reviews. Delays due to things like runway inspections are definitely outside the airline’s control, and it sounds like they handled the situation professionally. Friendly crew, clear communication from the pilots, and clean planes go a long way in making a good impression.
"Good"
Sounds like you had a pretty solid experience overall! It's awesome when there are no delays and the service is excellent — definitely makes the flight feel smoother. But yeah, uncomfortable seats can really take a toll, especially on longer flights. Booking that extra comfort seat next time sounds like a good call. Was it a short flight for you, or did you have to tough it out for a few hours?
"Horrible airline"
An absolute joke of a airline. They went on strike, cancelled our flight and did not refund any of our money. Their customer service is not helpful at all.
"Good customer service"
It’s unfortunate that your suitcase was damaged, but it’s great to hear that WestJet handled the situation so quickly and professionally. Prompt and fair resolution like that can really turn a frustrating experience into a positive one. Sounds like their customer service team deserves credit for stepping up. Would you feel confident flying with WestJet again after this experience?
"An assigned flight as part of a tour"
Thanks for sharing your detailed experience—it sounds like a mixed but generally positive introduction to WestJet. Despite the initial check-in hiccup and some terminal inconveniences, it’s good to hear the staff were helpful and the flight itself was smooth and enjoyable. For a first-time experience with a partner airline, it sounds like things worked out well enough. Would you consider choosing WestJet again in the future, now that you’ve had this initial experience?
"Never again, overbooked, cancelled plane, no refund-thanks!"
When they were the 'new guy' on the block i loved Westjet. Now they suck. Took away our seats and only offered a credit for future flights! Customer service is terrible. No apology, no refund, just a credit so we can screw you again. Try Porter or anyone else! Walk maybe.
"Great airline, would fly again"
Sounds like you've had a reliably smooth experience with WestJet, especially in areas where some airlines often fall short—customer service during disruptions and baggage handling. It's also great that they’ve shown flexibility when you're just slightly over the weight limit; that kind of human approach goes a long way in building loyalty. Do you have a favorite route or destination you usually travel with them?
"Decent flight, the crew could have been better."
It’s good to hear the flight was efficient and got you where you needed to go on time—that’s a major plus. But it's unfortunate the staff didn’t meet expectations; attentive service can really shape the whole experience. Was there a specific issue with the staff that stood out to you?
"Frequent flyer"
That's a very fair and balanced perspective. Planning ahead and staying informed definitely smooths out the travel experience, especially with airlines where a lot can depend on timing and communication. Did you fly with a specific airline on this trip?
