"Exceeded my expectation"

In general, I avoid low-cost airlines and usually fly with Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, or British Airways. I hadn’t flown with Ryanair in over 15 years, but during this past April's Easter holiday, fares were high and Ryanair offered the most budget-friendly option. I booked London to Barcelona and returned from Lisbon to London. Booking and online check-in were straightforward, and by carefully following the luggage rules, we had no issues. A 10kg checked bag on one leg and priority boarding on the other provided good value. The plane was clean, and the cabin crew were professional. On the downside, seat selection costs extra—even for families with children, despite claims they’ll be seated together—and the £3.50 Lavazza coffee was disappointing, tasting worse than instant coffee. Also, you need to be quite tech-savvy and attentive to avoid hidden charges. That said, overall, it was a surprisingly good experience and I would consider flying Ryanair again when on a tight budget.

"Help if needed is beyond shocking."

My issue isn't with the flight or the airport experience—those were perfectly fine for a no-frills airline. My concern lies with customer support. When I encountered a problem accessing my booking in the app, the online advisor was unable to help and simply ended the conversation, leaving me with no resolution. I was genuinely shocked by the abrupt handling and lack of follow-up. For an airline that operates primarily online, better support in resolving technical issues is essential.

Ryanair is an absolute scam. We had purchased two cabin bags with a 10KG limit. However, when we got to the gate, they made us place our bags in a small box to check the size. Our bags were just 2-3 cm too thick, and they fined us USD 200 for both. It seemed like almost everyone with cabin baggage got fined. Ryanair's practices are a disgrace, and I will NEVER fly with them again. I highly recommend anyone to AVOID Ryanair at all costs!

"Why do people moan?"

Ryanair is a godsend for many travelers. The fares are very reasonable, especially if you're traveling light with just a small bag. Sure, there can be delays, but unless you have an urgent appointment, it's usually not a major issue. The cabin crew do a good job despite working in tight, no-frills conditions. While more legroom would be nice, for short flights of around 1 hour and 15 minutes, it's manageable. If you treat it like a bus service — quick boarding, minimal fuss, and timely arrival — it does exactly what you need. For me, it's essential for visiting family. Thank you, Ryanair.

"Employees are very rude and nonchalant"

I had the worst experience at check-in. The man at the counter was completely unhelpful. I needed to pay extra for my baggage, but he refused to accept my bank card. I was trying everything to pay because I needed to get home to my kids. At the last minute, he told me, "Well, you can pay cash, but it will take minutes, and I’m closing in a minute, so you can't pay after all." His attitude was rude and nonchalant, and I ended up missing my flight. This was my first flight in 12 years, and I’m so disappointed. If you’re hiring, please do not hire people like this who have no regard for customer service.

"Good experience"

Used this company recently and it did exactly what it promised. No frills, but everything was efficient and on time. Staff were pleasant and professional. No complaints at all!

"Not bad, not good."

Ryanair is a good option for cheap travel around Europe, but be prepared — the extras like luggage, food, and drinks can quickly add up, sometimes costing more than the flight itself. Customer service could be more helpful, though that doesn’t bother me much. Landings are generally fine. Now for the downsides: the seats have very little legroom and aren’t exactly comfortable. As for the food… let’s just say the quality is questionable. The lasagna, in particular, gives me nightmares — it looks like a toddler tried to cook it. All in all, Ryanair isn’t as bad as people make it out to be. I’d give it a 7/10 — not bad, not great. Just... skip the lasagna.

"A total scam"

They charged me 55 pounds extras at the airport because the app didn't work to do the online check-in. Unbelievable, unacceptable.

"Not so bad"

Our experience with the airline was a mix of positives and a few negatives. The boarding process was quite chaotic, and we were disappointed to find there was no Wi-Fi available on board. However, once on the plane, we appreciated the ample legroom and comfortable seats, although some were in need of maintenance. The food served was surprisingly good and reasonably priced. The flight attendants were friendly and attentive, and we found the customer support to be excellent. Additionally, the website and app provided thorough and very detailed information, which made the overall experience smoother.

"Affordable Prices, but Frequent Delays"

Our flight was delayed by about two hours, and it appears that afternoon delays are fairly common with Ryanair. While the wait was inconvenient, the airline still stands out as a solid budget-friendly option thanks to its very low ticket prices. If you're prioritizing flexibility and cost savings, Ryanair can be a practical choice—but it's wise to factor in the possibility of delays when planning your travel.
