"Happy to travel scoot again"
I had a good experience with Scoot. The flight offered cheap fares, along with good food and drink options, making it a pleasant journey overall. The seats were comfortable enough, and the staff were helpful. The plane was tidy, though it was an older model, which seemed in line with the cost of the service provided.
"Average flight"
We arrived at 3:50 AM to check in for our 6:15 AM flight to Hanoi. Only one counter was open at first, leading to a long queue as there were several early morning flights. Thankfully, by 4:15 AM, three counters had opened, which helped expedite the process. We completed check-in by 4:30 AM. The flight was on a new A320 Neo, and it was full, so many passengers had difficulty finding space for their carry-ons. The seat cushions were thin, and we encountered turbulence for about an hour, which kept us glued to our seats. The crew appeared fixated throughout. We chose Scoot mainly because it offered better flight timings than Vietnam Airlines.
"Avoid Scoot Airlines – Unethical and Inflexible"
“I’m deeply disappointed with Scoot Airlines. Despite submitting medical proof showing I was unwell and unable to travel, they refused any refund or real solution. There was zero compassion or flexibility—just a rigid policy hiding behind fine print. This isn’t customer service; it’s daylight robbery. They’ll take your money and leave you stranded if health issues force you to cancel. Be warned: if anything goes wrong, you’re on your own. Think twice before booking with Scoot.”
"AVOID SCOOT AT ALL COSTS"
I strongly advise against flying with Scoot—no amount of savings is worth the headaches you’ll endure. Their customer service is abysmal, and delays seem to be their standard operating procedure. On my most recent trip from Bangkok to Singapore, our 9:00 AM flight was first pushed to 11:30 AM, then abruptly bumped again to 4:30 PM—each time without any clear explanation. All we received was a meager meal voucher, as if that could make up for being stranded in the airport with no option to explore the city or make alternate connections. From repeated, robotic apologies to outright lack of answers, Scoot leaves you trapped and powerless. Do yourself a favor: compare every other carrier first, and only consider Scoot if you have absolutely no other choice—and even then, rethink your travel plans.
"Just be prepared"
We flew Scoot from Perth to Singapore, then to Koh Samui, and back the same route. The planes were relatively new and clean, which is decent for a budget airline. The cabin crew were friendly, but service was incredibly slow—on the return flight to Perth, I waited over two hours for the service cart. I also had to pay $3 for a small bottle of water and ended up needing four due to how thirsty I was. What really frustrated me, though, was that the customs declaration cards were only available in Mandarin. This left the majority of passengers—who didn’t speak Mandarin—filling out their forms at customs, causing unnecessary delays. Next time, I’ll spend a bit more for a better experience with a full-service airline.
"Got the money for scoot, got the money for emirates economy plus."
"Uncomfortable, unclean, and absolutely no value for money. The only positive was the friendly flight attendants. Otherwise, everything else was a letdown. You’ll end up spending more onboard than you did on the actual ticket. Not worth it."
"A good budget airline"
We flew in the Scoot Plus section of the aircraft, which is essentially a no-frills premium economy category (with no included entertainment, for example). A reasonably good meal was included in the fare, though the same selection was offered throughout the plane. The major advantage of Scoot Plus is the legroom (I’m a tall person) and the wider, comfortable seats. The flight attendants were good, and Scoot Plus cost approximately 60% of what you’d pay for premium economy on a mainstream airline. Overall, I’d happily fly with Scoot again.
"Unreasonable extra charge"
"I was hit with an unreasonable extra charge for every additional kilogram of luggage — an amount that was actually higher than the cost of my entire ticket, which already included extra baggage. Completely unfair and unjustified."
"Did its job very well"
This was our first time flying with Scoot Airlines, and we wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. As a no-frills airline, it did exactly what it promised—and did it well. The flight was short, so the basic setup didn’t matter, and we were impressed by how smooth the entire experience was. Check-in was quick and straightforward, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. Despite the short duration, the in-flight service was handled efficiently, and we arrived at our destination feeling comfortable and relaxed—exactly what you’d hope for.
"Worst Airline Experience Ever – Never Flying Scoot Again!"
Honestly, I’m not even surprised Scoot has so many 1-star reviews. Here’s my experience — and it completely ruined my first trip to Japan. I checked in two hours before departure and was told my gate was D37. After receiving an email about a delay, I waited patiently. I admit I was a little too relaxed — but five minutes after the gate had closed, I found out it had been changed to D41. No announcement. No one came to inform passengers at D37. In most airports, even in countries considered less “efficient,” staff call out names or actively search for missing passengers. But Scoot? They sent an email and did nothing else. At the transfer desk, I spoke with a Scoot staff member who told me I had to buy a new ticket to Japan — out of my own pocket. I specifically asked twice if my checked luggage would still make it to Narita. I was reassured both times: “Yes, your baggage will arrive in Narita.” That was a lie. When I landed in Narita, my baggage was still in Singapore. I spent the first 2.5 days of my trip without any essentials. Valuable moments were lost, money was wasted, and I had to scramble just to get by — all because of Scoot’s carelessness. And it didn’t end there. On my return flight from Singapore to Surabaya, the nightmare continued. The flight was delayed, and once we finally boarded, the engines were shut off for nearly two hours due to “maintenance.” That meant no air conditioning, no ventilation, no signal, and no communication — just a stifling metal tube full of frustrated passengers. It was unbearable and completely unacceptable. I submitted a baggage delay claim and provided every document Scoot asked for. In return, I got a copy-paste email saying I didn’t qualify for compensation because I didn’t keep receipts for emergency purchases. So what was the point of asking for documents in the first place? Final thoughts: Scoot isn’t just a budget airline — it’s a disaster in disguise. From gate miscommunication, baggage mishandling, flight delays, and leaving passengers trapped on a grounded plane — Scoot has shown time and again that it simply doesn’t care. I will never fly Scoot again, and I urge anyone reading this to stay far away. You may save a bit on your ticket, but you’ll pay for it in lost time, stress, and potentially your entire trip.
"Could Be Better!"
I recently took a trip to Kuala Lumpur and while the outbound flight was smooth, the return journey had a few drawbacks. Although we left the gate on time, we were delayed getting airborne due to heavy air traffic, and bad weather near KL meant the seatbelt sign remained on for most of the flight—leaving little time for in-flight service, so we couldn’t order drinks. I also discovered that seat 7A, which was listed as a window seat, had no window, and seat 7F was right next to the toilet, which was disruptive due to constant foot traffic. The air circulation wasn’t great either. That said, we arrived safely thanks to the capable pilots and crew, and I’ll just be sure to double-check seat layouts more carefully next time.
