"Flights from Thessaloniki to Santorini."
Disappointed by the cancellation of Thessaloniki–Santorini flights It’s really disappointing that there are no longer direct flights from Thessaloniki to Santorini. Last year, there were more than five flights per week — and they were always full. I can’t understand why the airline would stop such a popular and in-demand route. A real loss for travelers.

It was a no-frills flight from Asturias to Barcelona, but the staff was excellent both in the terminal and on the plane. Thank you for the great service!
"Mostly good experience"
The flight was on time, comfortable, and the staff were great. Unfortunately, no water was provided unless you paid for it, which is unusual for a flight over 2 hours.
"STOP THE SURBOOKING"
Stop the overbooking! I thought it was illegal, yet Volotea continues to do it. Nothing is clear on the website regarding ticket options — you can’t even print your boarding pass unless you pay extra for a seat. Our flight was delayed by 2 hours with no announcements or explanations. Once onboard, we experienced yet another issue — a mechanical problem with the engine. This entire experience felt like a waste of time and money. I used to like flying with Volotea, but this trip showed me how much the quality has declined. I’m very disappointed.
"Disappointing Experience with Unfair Charges"
I recently flew with Volotea from Málaga to Lyon, and despite completing the online check-in as required, I was charged an additional €30 at the airport for "not checking in online." To make matters worse, I had to stand in line at the counter to check in manually, even though I had already done it online. On top of that, the fees for checked baggage are unreasonably high. This combination of unexpected charges and poor service is unacceptable, and it left me extremely frustrated. I expected much better from Volotea.

Very punctual—arrived 10 minutes early, in fact. Smooth flight in every aspect. The staff were exceptionally pleasant, knowledgeable, efficient, and professional. A great experience overall!

I had to pay extra just because I couldn’t check in the day before — and there was no way to reach customer support to fix the issue. The whole process was a mess, and I was left with no help and no options. Absolutely the worst experience I’ve had with an airline. Feels like they just take your money and leave you stranded.

Good value for money. Pros: Reasonably priced ticket, comfortable seating, and punctual flight. Cons: Limited variety in the onboard menu, and the food and drink prices could be more affordable.
"Insaficient ticket information"
I booked a Volotea flight with only a small under-seat bag and did not include extra cabin luggage (10kg). Despite knowing this, I kept receiving emails from Volotea suggesting that I could bring an extra 10kg bag, stating it would be checked in for free if there was no cabin space. Even my online check-in ticket initially showed allowance for the extra luggage. However, just two hours before my flight, when I re-downloaded the ticket from their app, it had changed—now showing only the small bag allowance. The day before, it was still showing the larger cabin bag option. It seems like a deliberate move to confuse passengers into bringing more luggage, only to be hit with a €50 charge at the gate. If this is related to the 'MegaVolotea' service, it needs to be clearly explained. Last-minute changes like this are misleading and create unnecessary stress. Volotea should be more transparent about baggage policies and not encourage mistakes that lead to extra charges.

"TERRIBLE DO NOT RECOMMEND"
Our flight was scheduled for 11:45 AM, but what followed was a complete disaster. The gate was changed three times, and after a 1-hour delay, we finally boarded—only to fly for 15 minutes before the plane turned back due to a technical issue. We were told to wait, expecting a fix. Five hours later, another technical issue occurred, and the flight was ultimately canceled. We never flew, and were finally let out of the airport at 7:45 PM—8 hours of chaos, no flight, no proper updates, and no support. Volotea’s operations are beyond unprofessional. This experience was frustrating, exhausting, and completely unacceptable.

Pleasant Flight – But Don’t Forget Online Check-In! Overall, it was a pleasant experience flying with Volotea. Just a heads-up—make sure to check in online at least 2.5 hours before your flight, or you’ll get hit with a €30 fee per person at the airport desk 😅

Overall, it was a good flight, but a few things took away from the experience. The promised snacks were cancelled at the last minute, and we had to wait in a stairwell due to a loading issue—only to be sent back to the waiting lounge. On top of that, I was disappointed by the refusal to allow my elongated shoehorn onboard, which I rely on due to having artificial hips. These inconveniences, though seemingly small, impacted what could have been a smooth journey.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which I really appreciated. However, the seat comfort left something to be desired. Additionally, at the airport, there was no assistance provided during boarding, and all passengers had to enter the plane from the rear without guidance. A bit more organization would have made the experience smoother.
"Worst experience ever on volotea"
Uncomfortable and poorly organized boarding process. We were kept waiting on the bus for 45 minutes before being allowed to board the plane — standing the entire time with no explanation. It made no sense why we weren’t allowed to remain seated in the airport waiting room instead. Very frustrating and unnecessary.

Volotea was founded by Alaeo S.L. from Barcelona, a company established by former Vueling founders Carlos Muñoz and Lázaro Ros. The name "Volotea" comes from the Spanish verb "revolotear," meaning "to fly around." The airline began operations on 5 April 2012, with its first base at Venice Marco Polo Airport.
