Qima Café and Pâtisserie – Fitzrovia

"Disappointing Drink, but Excellent Pastries"
Waited over 10 minutes for just one drink despite being at the front of the queue. Unfortunately, the matcha latte was a letdown—weak, poorly whisked, and lumpy. For the price, it really wasn’t worth it. That said, the pastries were excellent, so I’d return for those alone.
"Consistently Outstanding – A Go-To Spot for Coffee Lovers"
I’ve been visiting Qima for years whenever I’m in the area, and they never miss. Coffee and pastries are consistently top notch. The atmosphere is vibrant, and the staff are always friendly. Highly recommend the honey Yemeni brioche, ibrik coffee, and the coffee bun—some of the best in the UK!
"Great Coffee, Disappointing Service"
The coffee and pastries here were genuinely good, but unfortunately the service didn’t match. The vibe from the staff felt unwelcoming—more “mean girl” than friendly. With so many great coffee spots in London offering both quality and warmth, I’m not likely to return.
"Cozy Café with Great Vibes and Beautiful Drinks"
Discovered this lovely little spot recently and really enjoyed the experience. We tried the iced ruby latte, matcha latte, and their signature coffee bean—all beautifully presented and delicious. The café has a cozy, relaxed atmosphere that makes it perfect for unwinding. Definitely worth a visit!
"Great Coffee & Pastries, Though Some Limitations for Vegetarians"
Visited this charming coffee shop in the summer with friends. While we couldn’t snag an outdoor table on the sunny day, and the basement seating felt a bit cramped, the excellent coffee and pastries made up for it. As a vegetarian, I was slightly disappointed to find many of the fancier glazed treats contained gelatine, but there was still a nice selection of buns to enjoy. Some items had sold out by the time we arrived, which speaks to their popularity! Overall, a lovely spot with great coffee and sweet treats.
"Lovely Staff but Cramped Space and Mixed Experience"
The staff here were absolutely lovely—friendly, attentive, and really made an effort. Unfortunately, the overall experience was let down by how cramped the space is. Tables are packed tightly together, and in our case, we were seated next to two very loud guests, which made it hard to enjoy the visit. The pastries and desserts were decent but felt overpriced for what they offered. I also ordered tea, but it was so over-brewed that all nuance was lost—just overpowering bitterness. A nice team working here, but the environment and value for money could use improvement.
"Refreshing Drinks and Great Service"
Really enjoyed the drinks menu here—there are some interesting and creative options beyond just coffee. The drinks were served in cute glassware and tasted super refreshing. Even though we were seated downstairs, the service was attentive and friendly throughout. 👌 A lovely spot with thoughtful touches!
Qima Café and Pâtisserie – Fitzrovia
The seeds of coffee were planted in his family long before he was born. His grandfather, raised in rural Yemen, moved to Aden at 13 and opened a small tea and coffee shack at 17. That humble venture grew into a respected manufacturing group known not just for business success but for its deep social impact. Guided by the principle “we are makers of lives, not trade,” his grandfather built schools, clinics, and infrastructure across Yemen, long before ethical business was mainstream. Inspired by this legacy, he grew up with a strong sense of purpose. Born and raised in the UK but frequently visiting Yemen, he became deeply aware of global inequality. This dual perspective led him to a career in energy, working on development projects in the Middle East and East Africa—with a long-term vision of using his skills to improve lives in underserved communities.
