Hakkasan Mayfair

"Exceptional Food and Service, But Overcrowded Atmosphere"
The food at Hakkasan Mayfair was nothing short of spectacular—each dish was bursting with flavor and presented with finesse. The service matched the cuisine, with staff who were attentive, professional, and seamless throughout the evening. That said, the overall experience was let down by the atmosphere. The restaurant was extremely loud and overcrowded, with tables packed so closely together that it felt quite claustrophobic. Holding a conversation without raising your voice was a challenge, and the lack of privacy detracted from what could have been a more refined and intimate dining experience. Definitely worth visiting for the outstanding food and polished service—just be prepared for a high-energy, bustling environment rather than a quiet, romantic dinner.
"Delicious Food but Disappointing Service Experience"
I thoroughly enjoyed the food—it met all my expectations and was absolutely top-notch. I ordered the famous crispy duck salad, black cod, noodles, and fried rice, and each dish was beautifully executed and full of flavor. However, the service left much to be desired. Despite being a table of six, we struggled to get basic attention like receiving menus, while a nearby table of two seemed to receive far more attentive treatment. Compared to the polished service I've experienced at other Mayfair restaurants, this felt subpar and not in line with what you'd expect from a five-star venue. The atmosphere was decent, and I appreciated that they removed the service charge after we raised our concerns. Hopefully, the service improves on my next visit because the food certainly deserves a better front-of-house experience. Expect to spend £100+ per person.
"Exceptional Dining Experience at Hakkasan Mayfair"
I recently visited Hakkasan in Mayfair for the first time over the weekend and found the experience even better than my previous visits to their Soho location. Every dish was delicious, and the presentation was extravagant and truly impressive. I indulged in the Stone Grilled Japanese A5 Wagyu, which was absolutely outstanding. The wagyu slices were fresh and beautifully marbled, and just a pinch of salt with a touch of hoisin sauce elevated the flavors to a whole new level. It’s definitely a dish I will order again and highly recommend. I also couldn’t resist ordering their Crispy Duck Salad, a favorite of mine on multiple visits. The duck was perfectly roasted — crispy on the outside, tender inside, and cooked to perfection. The Dim Sum platter was another highlight, showcasing creativity and imagination while maintaining a perfect balance of quality ingredients and traditional Cantonese flavors. Overall, Hakkasan Mayfair delivers an exceptional dining experience worth returning to.
"Mixed Experience at Mayfair Restaurant – Great Peking Duck but Service and Ambiance Could Improve"
Highly recommended by our British friend, we were excited to try this restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the experience was quite interesting. The standalone cloakroom was managed by a well-presented young gentleman, and the hostess greeted us warmly with a lovely smile. However, communication felt lacking as we were directed to the basement and had to repeat our request, which came across as a bit disorganised. Arriving early, we enjoyed a drink at the bar. The taste was fair, though the £20 price tag was expected for Mayfair. Having been craving Peking Duck for a while, we were thrilled to order it. The duck was beautifully cooked and initially presented to us just 10 minutes after ordering. Strangely, it returned to our table 50 minutes later, which made us wonder if it was a staged presentation repeated at every table that ordered it. Our server was attentive and genuinely tried to assist, but we were asked over ten times throughout the meal, “How was your starter?”, “How was your duck?”, “How was your…?”—which became quite repetitive and intrusive. The ambiance was cosy, but the music was quite loud, making it difficult to hold conversations at our own table. Overall, while the food was decent, I’d suggest Imperial Treasure as a better alternative—offering more authentic cuisine, superior service, and a similar price point.
"Enjoyable Dinner at Hakkasan with Memorable Seafood Dim Sum"
I had a great experience dining at Hakkasan. While there are no halal options, the staff were very knowledgeable about which dishes contained alcohol, which was appreciated. The seafood dim sum was definitely the highlight — I highly recommend trying it. The steamed Chilean sea bass was enjoyable too, though it could have used a bit more flavor; it melted in your mouth and had a wonderful texture. For dessert, the Jivara bomb was surprisingly good. Overall, I’d recommend Hakkasan for a special occasion if you enjoy fine dining. Like many high-end restaurants, the prices are steep, but the atmosphere is lovely. Service was good, though not exceptional—I didn’t quite feel “looked after,” but that was okay. A nice surprise was being given some truffles to take home, which was a thoughtful touch!
"A Must-Visit Culinary Gem in London"
A must-visit while in London, this Cantonese hotspot delivered quite possibly one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The attention to detail was evident from the start — from cocktails served with branded round ice cubes to perfectly arranged dumplings that were as visually stunning as they were delicious. Hakkasan’s staff were attentive and professional throughout the evening. The chef served a white rice bursting with flavorful spices that truly elevated the meal. Adding to the experience was a DJ playing the perfect mix of music, creating a lively yet comfortable ambiance. The decor was also a feast for the eyes, completing an unforgettable dining experience. ❤️ Definitely follow and don’t miss this gem!
