"Artisan Coffee Hits Chiswick with Industrial Cool and Seriously Good Brews"

Artisan, the beloved Australian coffee shop, has brought its magic to Chiswick/Hammersmith — and it’s landed a prime corner at the junction of Goldhawk Road and The High Road. With its massive windows overlooking the rush of commuters to Stamford Brook station, it’s the ideal perch for a bit of people-watching while sipping your Long Black or Flat White (both superb and well-priced at £2–£2.50). The interior strikes a balance between industrial and classroom chic — think wooden counters, metal stools, and an eclectic mix of lightbulbs hanging overhead. Within days of opening, the space was already buzzing at lunchtime with a crowd of MacBook-toting remote workers (or possibly aspiring Yelp critics — who can say?). Artisan’s atmosphere is lively, the coffee is spot on, and the vibe is very “modern creative meets caffeine-fueled hustle.” Whether you’re in for a quick cup or a long sit with your laptop, it’s a welcome addition to the area.

"Great Coffee, Cozy Vibes — But Spotty WiFi"

Artisan’s communal benches practically beg you to linger, study, and sip your coffee slowly — and the vibe certainly supports that. However, if you’re looking for a reliable workspace, there’s one major drawback: the WiFi. At both their Hammersmith/Chiswick branches, the connection is notoriously patchy, often down for hours despite staff frequently resetting the router. As a freelancer, it’s frustrating — but to be fair, not every coffee shop is obligated to double as a co-working space. And at Artisan, it really is about the coffee. When the internet does behave, the atmosphere is warm and unrushed. The staff are friendly, approachable, and happy to chat if you’re in the mood. It’s also a popular hangout for local parents — you’ll spot plenty of mums with buggies enjoying a mid-morning break. So, while it might not be your next remote office, Artisan is still a top-tier choice for great coffee and a laid-back, community feel.

"Excellent Coffee and Cozy Vibes — Definitely Worth a Visit!"

This café truly takes pride in their coffee—it’s absolutely top notch! The atmosphere is great, making it a perfect spot to unwind. I’d definitely go out of my way to come back here.

"A Coffee Lover’s Delight with Tasty Treats and Fun Rewards"

I really enjoy the coffee at this spot— their flat white is exactly how it should be, perfectly balanced and smooth. The almond croissants are absolutely delicious, and the toasted sandwiches are equally impressive. Plus, the “wheel of fortune” game you get to play after your tenth free coffee is a brilliant and fun way to keep customers coming back.

"Hidden Gem Revitalizing the Street with Great Coffee and Food"

I’m telling you, my street has some really good spots, but it’s a shame not many people come here for a stroll. This new coffee shop is proof of the potential. I’ve been a couple of times, and both the food and coffee are really good. It’s always buzzing with customers and has given that corner a fresh, lively vibe. It used to look a bit sad—just a place to pass by—but now it feels like a destination worth visiting.

"Artisan Café: Friendly Vibe but Coffee Falls Short of the Hype"

Artisan is as friendly and trendy an Aussie café as it is a predictable hub for Chiswick’s middle classes. During our visit, we spotted no fewer than six shiny MacBooks, with just a few brave ThinkPad users breaking up the Apple crowd. Alongside the laptop brigade, there were parents with young kids, students, and some seniors all vying for table space. But does it truly deserve all the attention? It ticks the usual trendy café boxes—exposed brick walls, wooden tables and floors, homemade cakes, blackboard menus, and free wifi loved by the hip crowd. However, the coffee itself was average at best. My flat white felt watery and lacked excitement, while my girlfriend’s mocha was equally uninspired. Call me a heretic, but even the flat white I had just across the road at Upsy Daisy Bakery, despite its flaws, was better. Artisan does offer drip coffees, which I’d be willing to try if I return. Overall, my Artisan experience felt less ‘artisan’ and more just a bit underwhelming.
