"Disappointing Vegetarian Options, But Great Service"

We came looking for vegetarian food but were quite disappointed. The yellow curry we ordered was sweet instead of spicy, even though we had requested heat. The papadum served alongside was soaked in oil, and the vegan tacos lacked any real flavor — we ended up leaving them untouched. The one bright spot was the service; our server was attentive and kind, making sure we were well taken care of. We didn’t have the heart to tell him how disappointing the food was. This place might be a good choice for coffee and drinks, but probably not for vegetarian dining.

"Reliable and Consistent – A Federal Experience in Madrid"

December 2024 — Wherever you find a Federal, you know exactly what to expect: the menu offerings, the quality, and the speed of service. It’s good 99 times out of 100. With several locations across Spain, Madrid is no exception to this dependable standard.

"Disappointing Experience After Years of Enjoyment at Federal Cafés"

Having visited all the Federal cafés in Madrid over the past five years, I’ve always been impressed by their quality and taste. However, this time’s experience fell short of expectations. We ordered two dishes: the tomato provolone rocket croissant and the banana pancakes. The croissant arrived with a large black bug melted visibly into the cheese—something the staff surprisingly missed before serving. The provolone had an off-putting smell, as if it had been left unrefrigerated. The banana pancakes were sweet and flavorful but noticeably smaller in portion than before—just two small pancakes instead of the usual three, which used to be perfect for sharing. The coffee came after the food, which can happen during Sunday brunch, but it was served in a glass with green residue inside. On top of this, it took an unusually long time to get the bill. Overall, it was a disappointing visit compared to previous times. We hope the next visit will be better!

"Great Spot for All-Day Brunch in Madrid"

This place is perfect for an all-day brunch in Madrid. The salmon pancake was unbelievably good and definitely a highlight. However, the Brioche French toast was a bit disappointing since they used baguette instead of real brioche, which I didn’t enjoy as much. Overall, it’s a good spot to savor a delicious and satisfying brunch experience.

"Decent Spot for a Quick Coffee Break"

This place is okay overall. The staff seemed a bit brusque and made a mistake with our order. The coffee was excellent, but the rest of the food was just average. While there are better options nearby, it’s a convenient spot for a quick stop.
