"Disappointed by Lack of Consideration Despite High Costs"

This was not my first visit to this hospital, but it was my first time as a patient—and unfortunately, it left me with mixed feelings. I paid €150 for a urologist consultation, only to find that the doctor did not speak English. While the hospital provided an interpreter, it felt inappropriate that the interpreter was not the same sex as me, especially for a urology appointment. The ultrasound of kidneys and bladder cost €240, and after the procedure, I had to fetch the paper towels myself while still covered in gel—meaning my clothes got soiled in the process. Small but telling details, like a Dyson hand dryer being mounted too high in the restroom, also raise questions—how are kids meant to use it without creating a mess? The most frustrating part was that during my ultrasound, the doctor left for a scheduled surgery, and I was left waiting without any explanation. This lack of communication is unacceptable, especially after paying around €400 in total. No Wi-Fi is offered either, which is surprising given the prices. That said, the last interpreter did a great job and was very professional. Still, for the price and reputation, I expected a more respectful and organized experience.

"Degrading Experience – Absolutely Furious"

I am so furious with this hospital that words can hardly describe it. They were responsible for arranging assisted transport to the airport for a person who was ill. I won’t go into detail about how they actually delivered her, but it was utterly degrading and completely unacceptable. No one should be treated this way, especially in a vulnerable state. This level of care—or lack thereof—is shocking. STAY AWAY from this hospital.

"Misleading and Overpriced – A Shocking Experience"

I was completely misled by this hospital, and even my friend—who is very familiar with Turkey—was shocked by what we encountered. The consultation alone was priced at 120€, which is the going rate at top private hospitals in Norway. But the real surprise came with the cost of a simple procedure, quoted at 1,500€—nearly four times what even the most expensive private clinics in Scandinavia would charge (around 420€). Needless to say, I declined. It felt like a blatant attempt to take advantage of foreigners. If you're considering treatment here, be cautious and ask detailed price information upfront.

"Great Hospital with Minor Morning Disturbance"

This is a very good hospital where you truly feel you're in good hands. The staff is professional and the care provided is excellent. The only minor issue was the early morning noise caused by the cleaning staff, which could be a bit disruptive. Other than that, I had a very positive experience and would recommend the hospital.

"Excellent Care and Successful Knee Surgery at Baskent University Hospital"

I was treated by orthopedic surgeon Dr. M. Sulerii Sahin for a Total Knee Replacement (TKR), and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Dr. Sahin speaks excellent English, showed genuine care, and performed the surgery with skill and precision. This was my second TKR, and I can confidently say it was a very positive experience. My four-day stay at Baskent University Hospital in Alanya was truly a delight. From the efficient in-processing to the attentive nursing care, spotless housekeeping, and quality meals—everything was top-notch. As a resident card holder, the cost of the procedure was also incredibly reasonable. If I ever need medical care again, this will be my first choice in Alanya.

"A Complete Rip-Off – Unjustifiably Expensive Treatment"

While I did receive the help I needed—a foreign body was removed from my ear via suction—I was shocked by the cost. As a doctor myself, I’ve performed this exact procedure before. In Germany, the official medical fee schedule (GOÄ) sets the price at around €43. Here in Turkey, I was charged 11,500 TL—more than €400—for a five-minute procedure. I requested a detailed breakdown or justification for the fee, but have not received one to date. It’s incredibly frustrating and raises serious concerns about transparency and fairness in medical billing. How can an average tourist afford healthcare in Turkey under these conditions? The treatment may have been effective, but the price was unreasonable and exploitative.
