"Good Food but an Overall Okay Experience"

The food was great, and I wish I could give 5 stars, but one of the dishes we had—the cabrito—was overly salty. It also took about 15 minutes for desserts to arrive. The service was generally good, though our server was a bit slow and repeatedly tried to upsell more food, which felt pushy. We came in with high expectations for this restaurant but left feeling it was just an okay experience overall.

"Lovely Ambience and Great Service, but the Food Wasn’t for Me"

I visited this restaurant based on the glowing reviews and the fact that it was packed even at 4 PM. After waiting for a table, I ordered a starter—croquettes with potato and cheese. The portion size was enormous for one person, and I had to leave half of it to save room for my main course. I hate wasting food, so this was frustrating. When the main course arrived, I was shocked again by the sheer amount of food. It came with a bowl of rice (enough for two people) and a salad. I had chosen a selection of taster dishes to try different Peruvian specialties, but unfortunately, most of the flavors didn’t suit me. Some dishes included ingredients like stomach and lungs, which I found unpalatable. While the food was well-prepared and nicely presented, the flavors felt either too bland or just not to my taste. The highlight of my meal was the Pina Colada cocktail—it was excellent. The service was very good, and the restaurant has a lovely ambiance, but sadly, I left feeling disappointed and won’t be returning. If you enjoy Peruvian food and generous portions, you’ll probably love this place—it just wasn’t for me.

"One of the Best Meals of My Life"

Panchita gave us so many “bests” in one meal—best beef stew, best fried rice, and hands down the best chocolate cake. But what truly made the experience unforgettable was Pepe. He was incredibly attentive and seemed to anticipate our every need throughout the meal. This was easily one of the top 2 meals I’ve had in my 36 years of existence.

"Good Variety and Excellent Service, but Flavors Fell Short"

Overall, we found the meal to be just okay. The portions were very generous, but the flavors lacked the refinement we’ve experienced at other top restaurants in Lima. It’s a good option if you’re looking for a wide variety of local dishes, though nothing particularly stood out as the best we’ve had so far. The service, however, was excellent—especially Junior, who made the experience more enjoyable.

"Delicious Food and Beautiful Atmosphere, but Service Could Improve"

We’ve been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, and it’s usually very busy. Thankfully, we came for lunch on a weekday and were able to get a table in the outdoor seating area without a reservation. The food was outstanding—we ordered the yucca balls, Ají de Gallina, and the olluco, and everything was beautifully prepared. The Ají de Gallina in particular was one of the best I’ve ever had. It’s definitely a place we’ll continue bringing our guests to for an authentic taste of Peruvian cuisine. Unfortunately, the service was quite slow, and there were moments when we couldn’t find our server when needed. To add to the disappointment, we asked to have our leftovers boxed to take home, but they forgot and lost them—a sad moment because the food was so good. That said, the atmosphere is lovely with rich, beautiful decor that adds to the experience.

"An Unforgettable Dining Experience in Lima"

Panchita is absolutely amazing—hands down the best restaurant I visited in Lima. The food was exceptional, with every dish cooked to perfection, and the ambiance created the ideal setting for a memorable meal. The service was impeccable—attentive without being overbearing—which made the experience even more enjoyable. I ordered the Pollo Criollo, which was bursting with flavor, and couldn’t resist snapping photos of the half Milanesa and half Supremo de Pollo dishes at our table—they looked just as incredible as they tasted. For dessert, we indulged in suspiro limeño (both small and large portions) and a decadent tres leches. Panchita is an absolute must when visiting Lima—worth every bite!

"Lively Atmosphere but Underwhelming Flavors"

The atmosphere and setting were fantastic—lively, vibrant, and paired with very friendly service. I ordered a selection of small plates, and while the presentation was beautiful, the flavors fell flat. From an international perspective, most dishes felt bland, uninspiring, and lacked the boldness I was hoping for. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this spot based on my experience.

"Good Food Overall but Disappointing Dish and Service"

We were a group of five, and overall the food was good. However, I was very disappointed with my order of Cabrito Norteño. Instead of receiving a proper portion, I was served the backbone of the cabrita, which was mostly fat and bones—something I wouldn’t even serve at home except for making soup. When I raised this with Cesar, he explained that the client doesn’t get to choose the cut (“press”), but I was still charged the full price of 98 soles for the dish. No bueno!

"Good Food and Service, but Portions and Tipping Felt Off"

I’d recommend booking this restaurant in advance to skip the queue—they provide a link for reservations above. Our waiter was attentive and spoke good English, which made the experience easier. The food portions, however, were unbelievably massive. I know it sounds odd to complain about large servings, but honestly, one portion is enough for two people to share. We noticed most tables, including ours, left a lot of food behind, which felt like such a waste. The food itself was good—we especially loved the pork belly, and the chicken skewer had a great texture. The green rice was flavorful but a bit too salty by Asian standards. The only downside to our experience was at the end: when the bill arrived, the waiter pointedly stated, “20, 15, or 10% tip.” This felt like an instant turn-off for us, especially as this isn’t the USA.
