"Excellent."
The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The hotel was spotless, and the housekeeping team did an outstanding job keeping everything immaculate. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the pools were always clean and inviting. There was plenty of variety at mealtimes, though we would have appreciated a few more English food options. That aside, we couldn’t fault the hotel or its staff. We would definitely return for another stay!
"Not what we expected"
If you’re expecting a true 5-star resort, this isn’t it. The hotel isn’t bad, but it’s far from what you’d expect at this level. We’ve only been here a few days and have already seen several families swapping rooms because the air conditioning and fridges don’t work. We moved rooms ourselves — while the AC now works, we’re dealing with loud noise from the hotel next door, causing the windows to vibrate until 11:45 pm. As a result, our boys (aged 3 and 6) can’t get to sleep until the noise stops. The food is okay — not terrible, but certainly not 5-star quality. The pool and slides are great, but those are hard to get wrong. There’s no table service during meals and very little poolside service, which again doesn’t reflect a luxury resort standard. We’re currently trying to move to another hotel. Overall, while you might have a decent time here, the experience feels overpriced and underwhelming for a resort claiming 5 stars.
"Good all round!"
We had a lovely summer holiday here as a family of four (kids aged 5 and 10). There’s plenty to do, and the kids club was fantastic – the staff were great with the children, and although it wasn’t always the activity listed on the planner, there was always something fun going on. The entertainment team kept things lively. Berkay was brilliant, keeping our 10-year-old engaged with darts tournaments, while the pool parties, foam/colour events, and beach assault courses added to the fun. Food was generally very good, though breakfast and dinner could get chaotic, and finding a table was tricky at times. We discovered a quieter section on the left side of the restaurant in the evenings where we always found a table. The two snack bars by the pools were excellent for lunch. Drinks were decent – cocktails weren’t the best as they relied heavily on syrups, but the mojitos were fine. Beer was good, and bottled beer is available on request. Water stations around the hotel made it easy to stay hydrated. The hotel itself is huge, with some areas feeling a bit underused (perhaps more active in the off-season). The evening shows were absolutely fabulous and a real highlight. Our room suited our family of four, though the décor was slightly dated. The air conditioning wasn’t ice cold but worked well enough, and any issues were quickly resolved by the helpful reception staff. Daily cleaning by Fadime (room 1145) was excellent. There are cats around, but nowhere near as bad as some reviews suggest – and they’re fed by hotel staff in designated areas, so just don’t feed them yourself. Shops across the road were great, offering plenty of choice. One tip: skip the Land of Legends night show – we found it wasn’t worth the money. Overall, this is a good 4-star hotel for what we paid, and we’d recommend it for families looking for a fun, relaxed break.
"A hotel with some major issues. Go somewhere else!"
I’m writing this as I sit by the pool on the last day of our holiday. To put it simply, this isn’t just the worst “5-star” resort we’ve stayed at – it’s the worst 4 or 5-star hotel we’ve ever experienced. The so-called “ultra all-inclusive” is a complete con. There’s constant upselling for things that should be standard at a decent all-inclusive resort. For example, you have to pay extra for your kids to have popcorn or candyfloss at the evening shows and even to play PS5 in the arcade. The house wine is terrible, and they push you to pay for “special” wines and prosecco. You’re honestly better off buying a bottle or two from the shop across the road. While there are a few excellent staff members, sadly they are overshadowed by a significant number of rude, uninterested, and unprofessional employees. There seems to be a cultural issue among the staff here. Normally, we tip generously on holiday, but there were two full days when the service was so poor that I didn’t feel they deserved anything. The cocktails at the Laila Bar are laughably bad. They’re often not even shaken properly, so you get pure alcohol floating on top and syrup pooling at the bottom. I’ll try to post a photo of one of their “strawberry daiquiris” because it was honestly shocking. Other bars were a little better, but still hit or miss. As for the food, breakfast was decent enough, but lunch and dinner at the Zen Restaurant were appalling. Undercooked, cold, and pink meats that should have been served hot meant we had to be extremely cautious with what we ate. The Turkish Revan buffet was slightly better, but overall the food and drink quality left a lot to be desired. The rooms themselves were spacious and well-equipped, but the air conditioning was unreliable and never properly fixed despite raising the issue with guest relations. Speaking of guest relations, any complaints seem to bring only a temporary improvement – things would get better for a day and then return to the same poor standard. On the positive side, the entertainment team, kids’ club, and evening shows were great. They provided some much-needed highlights during an otherwise disappointing stay. Ultimately, this hotel is nowhere near 5-star quality. At best, it’s a 3-star resort that needs serious improvement before it can justify its rating or price tag. I won’t be complaining to Jet2 because I know it won’t change anything – I’ll simply vote with my feet and avoid this hotel and any others affiliated with it in the future.
"Delightful experience"
Everything about our stay was absolutely phenomenal! The service, the food, and the staff were all outstanding. A big hat off to the chefs who consistently delivered delicious meals, even in the heat – their dedication truly stood out. The environment was peaceful and delightful, creating the perfect atmosphere for relaxation. I really appreciated the warm hospitality and care shown by everyone at the resort. Can’t wait to return!
"Not a 5 star hotel!!"
The hotel itself is lovely and very clean. It always smells nice, and the grounds are well maintained, which created a good first impression. When booking our holiday, we were torn between this hotel and Aska Lara down the road. The reviews and advertisements for Limak Lara convinced us to book here, but unfortunately, it’s been a letdown. There’s a lot of upselling, and I honestly wouldn’t call this a 5-star resort. The food was extremely repetitive, and there wasn’t much on offer for British guests. The kids’ food was the same every day, and my two children—usually great eaters—survived on plain pasta. We even had to buy snacks from nearby shops just to make sure they ate something. Much of the food was lukewarm and didn’t look very appetizing. The drinks were equally disappointing. The cocktails were overly sweet, poorly mixed, and not enjoyable at all. My husband and I tried every cocktail on the menu and couldn’t find one we liked. It’s frustrating because all-inclusive holidays are meant to include good food and drinks, but we ended up dining out at a steakhouse nearby where the food and cocktails were far better. To make matters worse, there were constant extras to pay for: special wines and prosecco, kids’ candy floss and popcorn, certain kids’ club activities, bowling, arcades, and even mini golf (which was in such poor condition it didn’t deserve the name). All of this felt like a rip-off and really detracted from the “ultra all-inclusive” experience. The rooms are spacious but dated, and the air conditioning only worked at certain times, which was inconvenient. Not all staff were approachable—some came across as quite rude. On a positive note, the entertainment team was fantastic. There was always something going on during the day to keep guests engaged, and the evening shows were great—we genuinely looked forward to them every night. There were plenty of sunbeds, and the pools were clean and well-maintained. Sadly, apart from the entertainment and pool areas, there weren’t many highlights for us. This was our first family holiday in years and our “familymoon,” but it fell short of expectations. We won’t be returning to this hotel.
"Decent ‘Budget’ Hotel"
We booked a short break here with fairly low expectations, as this hotel was considerably cheaper than many others in the Lara Beach area. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay, and the positives outweighed the negatives—but it’s important to set your expectations accordingly. It’s worth noting that star ratings in Turkey are often based on facilities rather than overall quality. While this hotel carries a 5-star rating thanks to its spa, indoor and outdoor pools, and other amenities, the experience doesn’t feel like the 5-star standard you might be accustomed to in other parts of the world. The outdoor pools and spaces were large, clean, and well maintained. We never struggled to find sunbeds, and while the pools were a little chilly (expected for the time of year), the variety of outdoor bars and a decent snack bar made daytime relaxing easy. We never had to wait or worry about food and drink options during the day. The evening entertainment was a real highlight. Live music in the Sports Bar was excellent, and the stage performances—particularly Mamma Mia—were among the most professional we’ve seen on holiday. Staff were generally polite and engaging, though service could be hit-and-miss at times. The entertainment team worked hard and managed to create a fun atmosphere without being pushy. That said, there were some downsides. The main restaurant was very disappointing for us as a British couple. We struggled to find options we enjoyed at breakfast and dinner, as the food seemed more tailored toward Turkish and Eastern European guests. If you’re expecting a classic English breakfast, you’ll be disappointed. Many dishes that did appeal to us were lukewarm at best, which made dining a frustrating experience. Another issue was the constant upselling throughout the hotel. Wine and prosecco, popcorn, ice cream, candyfloss, and à la carte restaurants all came with extra charges. For families with young children, this could quickly add up and would likely feel frustrating at an “all-inclusive” resort. That said, we came here knowing it was a more affordable option, and for the price, we felt it offered decent value. Having previously stayed at Limak Atlantis and Arcadia, this hotel does feel like the “poor relation,” but it’s also considerably cheaper. In the end, we had a nice stay but would probably pay a bit more next time to stay somewhere with better dining options. The food was the main factor that would make us look elsewhere in the future.
"Average at best"
The hotel itself is lovely inside, always clean, and the staff are first-class. There’s also a good selection of drinks. However, that’s where the positives end. The entertainment? Let’s just say if Van Gogh ever stayed here, we now know why he cut his ear off. The Italian à la carte restaurant was another letdown—if you’re excited about pizza, prepare yourself for one with no cheese and then be served what felt like an entire tennis ball’s worth of cheese separately. The minestrone soup was actually decent, but if you’re booking for five people, make sure they bring enough because all you get is one spoonful each. The main restaurant was mediocre at best. If you’re a fan of chicken, you’ll be happy because it’s pretty much everywhere. The only memorable items were the burgers (one night only) and skewers. We’ve stayed at the Sherwood for the past two years during the same dates, and it’s been miles better—and cheaper. We booked Limak Lara for my 40th birthday expecting an upgrade. Sadly, Sherwood outshines it in every way. This is definitely not a 4-star hotel—barely a 3-star, in my opinion. I’ve even stayed in better 2-star hotels in Ibiza. To add insult to injury, we arrived early Saturday morning and were still charged extra for a late checkout, even though our flight wasn’t until later. Also, avoid the shop downstairs. €5 for a cup of noodles you can buy for 39 cents across the road. And the bread? Let’s just say it explains why people come to Turkey to get their teeth done!
"Fantastic holyday, cannot wait to return"
No matter what else you read, here’s the truth: this hotel is incredible. All the staff are fantastic—nothing is ever too much trouble for them. The entire place is spotless, from the rooms to the beautifully maintained grounds. The pools are magnificent, offering something for everyone: fun and lively areas for those wanting action, and calm, quiet spots for total relaxation. Bars are conveniently located everywhere, and the staff quickly remember your preferences after just a couple of visits. We arrived at 1:45 AM and were amazed to find a huge selection of food and drinks available in the restaurant even at that hour. Our sea view balcony was worth every penny—there’s nothing better than opening the curtains in the morning to such a breathtaking view. The minibar in our room was free and restocked daily, which was a lovely touch. Entertainment throughout the day and evening was brilliant. The amphitheatre event where guests are covered in colorful powders and foam was unforgettable, as was the lively beach party in the evening. The food was delicious, with a huge variety to choose from, and always cooked to perfection. If you have children, this is a hotel you’ll want to return to every year. There are plenty of lifeguards on duty, an amazing kids’ play area with slides, and three big slides for older kids—and adults who are still kids at heart! Hands down, this is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in.
"Honest review! This is not a 5* hotel"
We’ve just returned from a 10-night stay at Limak Lara Deluxe, and I’ve never been happier to come home. I don’t usually write reviews, but I feel compelled to share our experience to warn others considering this hotel. On 12th June, my 1-year-old daughter contracted Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease during our stay. This caused her significant discomfort and created huge stress for our entire family. What made it worse was the hotel’s complete lack of support and care — an experience I found deeply unsettling. We were told we needed to see the hotel doctor (at our own expense) and then take our daughter to Antalya Hospital to see a paediatric specialist, despite her already beginning to recover. The process felt cold and unsupportive from start to finish. The Guest Relations Manager, Gamze, was by far the most unprofessional hotel staff member I’ve ever encountered. She was dismissive, talked over us constantly, and even laughed while we were trying to express our concerns — all in front of my visibly upset 4-year-old son. When we asked her to listen respectfully, she continued with her condescending attitude. When we requested to see the hotel’s health policy, Gamze disappeared for 15–20 minutes, returned with a document, covered the hotel logo, and refused to let us photograph it for translation. It felt evasive and dishonest. Gamze also incorrectly told us the entire family needed to quarantine and couldn’t use hotel facilities — which turned out to be untrue after she later checked with the doctor. Even after we provided a letter from the hospital confirming our daughter could use most facilities (except the pool), we were still treated with suspicion. Staff avoided us, cleaners refused to come near our room, and wet linens were left for us to change ourselves. Meanwhile, the hotel doctor and nurse had no issue touching our daughter without gloves. The hypocrisy was staggering. Other issues included: Hygiene concerns: Every high chair we used was filthy. For a “5-star” resort, this is unacceptable. Food safety: One night, I bit into a hard, sharp object in my food — a 3cm-long piece of plastic. When I reported it, staff casually brushed it off as “cartilage” (it wasn’t) and offered only a half-hearted apology. Poor food quality: The buffet was repetitive and bland. Breakfast was especially bad — overcooked eggs, raw beans, and nothing remotely fresh or appetising. Rude staff and communication issues: Drinks were slammed down on tables, and even basic requests like asking for ice were met with sighs and eye-rolls. Many staff members didn’t understand basic English, which made simple conversations frustrating. The Italian à la carte restaurant was also disappointing. Despite being nearly empty, service was slow and indifferent, and meals were incorrect. Even though we paid €19 per person, the experience was far from premium. The hotel itself feels tired and outdated. Beds were rock-hard with scratchy sheets, and showers fluctuated between scalding and freezing. The gym doesn’t open until 8am (frustrating for early risers), and checkout facilities are inadequate. On a positive note: ✅ The beach is beautiful (though the sand is made of tiny stones, so bring beach shoes). ✅ The kids’ disco and Michael Jackson show were decent. ✅ The on-tap beer was good. ✅ General cleanliness in shared areas was acceptable. But these few positives don’t outweigh the negatives. If you’re wondering about all the glowing reviews, many seem to come from domestic guests — which might explain the disconnect. This was the most stressful and disappointing holiday we’ve ever had. For a hotel that markets itself as a luxury family resort, the reality was far from it. We will not return, and I strongly recommend others think carefully before booking. — Nicola Wallis & Family
