"About hospitality"

I stayed at JW Marriott for two days, and the experience was truly awesome. The staff was extremely humble and accommodating, making me feel genuinely cared for throughout my stay. A special thanks to the concierge manager Mr. Manik Singh, along with Sahil, Aamir, and Ashad, for their exceptional hospitality. Their professionalism and warm service made the stay all the more memorable.

"Close to airport, costs a lot for what it is"

We stayed at JW Marriott for our final night before flying home after 14 days of travel. While the hotel met all our needs, we found the staff to be less hospitable compared to other places we visited in India and neighboring countries. On the positive side, the location is convenient—just 10-15 minutes from the airport. The breakfast buffet was plentiful, and our room was large, clean, and very luxurious. That said, we also stayed at Aloft Aerocity Delhi and, while it wasn’t as high-end as JW Marriott, the warmer hospitality there would make us consider staying at Aloft again in the future.

"Luxury Experience Undermined by Breakfast Chaos"

We stayed at JW Marriott Delhi for a night to celebrate my son’s birthday, and while there were some wonderful highlights, the overall experience left us with mixed feelings. On the positive side, the team did a fantastic job making my son feel celebrated. The room was beautifully decorated, he received his favorite cake and a soft toy at check-in, and the thoughtful touches made the occasion extra special. We had booked an executive suite, which was spacious, elegant, and offered a stunning view of the runway — perfect for our little aviation enthusiast. The Club Lounge was another highlight, offering a great high tea spread, delicious cocktail hours, and attentive service. Himanshu and Sahil made sure we were well taken care of. Later, we enjoyed relaxing at the JW Lounge in the lobby, where Vaishnawi and Abhishek’s warm hospitality and excellent recommendations added to our pleasant evening. Unfortunately, breakfast the next morning was a major disappointment. While the food selection was good, the experience felt chaotic and poorly managed, likely due to a wedding crowd. Service was almost non-existent; we repeatedly asked for basics like cutlery and napkins, and no one cleared used plates. We eventually had to move them ourselves just to create space. No staff checked in on us, which was particularly surprising for a luxury property. Throughout the stay, we also felt a lack of genuine engagement from the team, and as loyal Marriott Bonvoy members, there was little recognition or personalization compared to other Marriott properties we’ve stayed at in India. Overall, the stay started off very promising, with many thoughtful touches that made my son’s birthday truly special. However, the chaotic breakfast service and the lack of consistent hospitality left us with mixed impressions.

"Good hotel next to Delhi’s airport."

This is a great hotel with good-sized rooms and excellent service overall. However, the entrance can be a bit confusing as the check-in desks are “hidden” on the left-hand side behind a wall — it took me a couple of minutes to figure out where to go. There’s a large sitting area on the ground floor, and I decided to wait there for my colleagues before dinner. However, after being handed a menu and politely mentioning I was just waiting, I was asked to leave the area as it apparently belonged to the bar. I was directed to two sofas at the front of the lobby, which were already quite busy. There were plenty of empty sofas and armchairs in the bar area, so I couldn’t quite understand the harm of waiting there as a paying guest. Aside from this odd policy, the hotel is excellent. It’s popular with air crews from various airlines due to its proximity to the airport and boasts a very good gym.

"Great property, courtesyless managers"

This is a great property with very good rooms, and I stayed here for nine nights in August 2024 during a business trip to Delhi (with a weekend break in between). The front-end staff were courteous and welcoming, but unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience with the managers. As a Marriott Gold Bonvoy member, I was told I could extend my checkout until 2 pm. However, on the day of checkout, the managers refused, citing high occupancy, even though the hotel’s official check-in time is 3 pm. It felt like this could have been managed as a normal courtesy, especially for a loyal guest. I had to leave a business meeting halfway to return to the hotel for checkout. Ironically, when I arrived, the manager said I could now check out at 2 pm! By that point, my schedule had already been disrupted, and it was too late to benefit from the extension. This experience was frustrating and far from the level of JW Marriott courtesy and customer service I expect. As a result, I decided to cancel the remaining five days of my stay.

"Big Disappointment/Breakfast Buffet Terrible"

This was my second stay at this property, and unfortunately, it was a major disappointment. The hotel itself is very elegant with beautiful rooms, so there’s no complaint about the property itself. The real issue was the terrible service at the breakfast buffet. There were plenty of staff members, but they all seemed confused and completely inattentive. None of them were friendly or proactive; you had to literally call someone over just to get a cup of chai. I observed staff members distracted on their phones or bickering amongst themselves rather than paying attention to guests. To make matters worse, some staff at the reception desk were rude and abrupt, which is not acceptable at a property charging premium rates. If you’re paying top dollar to stay here, you expect staff who can deliver service to match that standard. Sadly, this experience has ensured I won’t be coming back again. 👎

"EXCELLENT SERVICE AND TRAVEL ADVICE"

I needed to travel to Agra and approached Sahil at the Concierge Desk for help. He advised me to book a ticket in advance as Intercity Trains are often full. I asked him to book the ticket for me, and I’m so glad I did! When I arrived at the station, there were no spare seats available, but thanks to Sahil’s advice and assistance, I had my seat secured. His guidance saved me a lot of stress and inconvenience — truly excellent service!

"Great airport hotel for a stopover"

This was my first time staying in Aerocity, and the location is absolutely brilliant for an airport stopover. I loved many things about the hotel, especially the 24/7 facilities, which are perfect for those with awkward flight times. The concierge service was excellent — they instantly arranged a hotel car to take us to see some New Delhi sights, and the driver turned out to be an excellent guide as well. I would highly recommend using this service if you have a free afternoon. What let the experience down, however, was the very slow reception service. There seemed to be a cast of thousands of friendly staff around, but the actual service at reception was extremely sluggish with long queues. This was particularly frustrating since currency exchange also had to be done at the reception, leading to more long waits just to handle basic requests or ask questions. Overall, a great location with excellent facilities, but the front desk efficiency really needs improvement.

"Mixed feeling"

We had booked a high-floor, airport-facing king bed room for a night specifically so my toddler, who is fascinated by planes, could watch them on the taxiway or taking off. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. At check-in, I was given keys to a low-floor room, and only after protesting was I “upgraded” to the highest floor — but it still wasn’t airport-facing. When I stressed that the only reason we booked this hotel was for the view that Marriott advertises, I was then offered a somewhat airport-facing room, but it had a double bed and would only be available after an hour. With a toddler, this was not feasible. The reception staff was patient and did their best, offering complimentary dinner and/or executive lounge access, but with a toddler, these offers weren’t helpful. What was most frustrating was that Marriott sells specific room types but doesn’t guarantee them, and we were only informed of the issue at check-in — far too late to make other arrangements. By morning, a manager offered Marriott points or a 55 AUD discount as compensation, which didn’t feel adequate for the lost experience, but I was exhausted and accepted it just to end the ordeal. Sadly, this felt far from the 5-star standard we expected. Key takeaway: Call well in advance to confirm that the room type you book is actually reserved. Marriott should not sell options they cannot honor. PS: I donated the 55 AUD compensation to charity.

"Good stay"

We had a mixed experience during our stay. On the positive side, the room was spacious and very comfortable, and the food served was absolutely delicious. The security staff — and their canine companions, especially "Old Man" — were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, which added a nice touch to the experience. However, the service was extremely slow, which was a significant letdown. While the property has its strengths, the service efficiency definitely needs improvement for a better overall stay.

"Very nice hotel but disappointed in extortionate food prices."

This is a very nice hotel overall. The staff are attentive and polite, and the rooms are bright, clean, classy, and spacious — perfect for a one-night stay before our flight home. It does have a very corporate feel, which worked fine for our needs. The only downside was the food situation, which was a bit of a let-down. Prices were very inflated, and there were no reasonable snack options available. We ended up with a wrap for the equivalent of £17, which felt excessive. Overall, a great hotel for convenience and comfort, but be prepared for expensive dining options.

"Bad service in the name of protocol convinience"

We had an unpleasant experience at the hotel due to overly rigid service protocols. On my daughter’s wedding day, she was dressed up for her brother’s wedding but accidentally left the key inside the room. When she requested the hotel staff on the floor to open the door so she could quickly put on her shoes, they refused and instead asked her to walk barefoot to the front desk to prove her identity and collect a duplicate key. Another time, at 1:30 am, our room key stopped working, and once again, the front desk insisted we come down for a duplicate key rather than sending someone up to assist us. While we understand that such protocols are meant for guest safety, this approach felt more like convenience for the staff than care for the guests, especially when there was a wedding group staying. The staff should be more considerate of the situation and the guest’s circumstances, rather than blindly following policy to the detriment of guest comfort.
