"Nice food"
Had a wonderful time at Jamavar, The Leela Palace. The food and atmosphere were top-notch, and Mr. Tahsin took great care of us, ensuring everything was perfect. The place is beautifully decorated, and the lighting adds to the overall classy vibe. Jamavar has always maintained its high standards, and this visit was no exception. It’s located in the heart of Delhi – a bit on the expensive side, but absolutely worth it. Will definitely visit again!
"The Palace thats lost its charm…."
The Leela Palace Delhi has long been a second home for us — a sanctuary of elegance and warmth in the heart of the capital. Since its opening, it has been a non-negotiable stop on our travels, not just for its architectural beauty but for the unmatched sense of being the only guest that mattered. It once embodied royal Indian hospitality and stood as a standard-bearer, not only in India but across the East.
"The Leela Palace Is A Truly Stunning Hotel With A Colonial Vibe"
The Leela Palace is a truly stunning hotel with a charming colonial vibe and beautiful floral arrangements in the reception and on every floor. This was our 7th or 8th stay, and every time we are greeted with a fresh and warm welcome. The décor is exceptional, and it’s always a wonderful way to start our trip in Delhi. From the gatekeepers to the housekeepers and restaurant staff, everyone makes you feel valued. A special mention to Joli, who is truly the face of the hotel, as well as Leisan, Kabi, Sourav, and Ashtha at check-in — all of whom made our stay very comfortable. The food at the hotel was superb as always. We highly recommend The Leela Palace and look forward to our next stay!
"Wonderful hotel and service. Management and communication not so good."
This is a beautiful, well-located hotel in the heart of Chanakyapuri with top-notch service, a delightful breakfast, and creative evening cocktails. A special shoutout to Mani, who went above and beyond throughout my stay — arranging private cars, packing a breakfast-to-go box for my early flight, and ensuring I felt safe and comfortable as a solo female traveler. He truly made my trip seamless. However, the management fell short with the Club Room experience. I had booked a club room but received an email just a day before (after the cancellation period) informing me that club access would be unavailable due to renovations. My room was initially assigned on the fourth floor, even though club rooms are higher up, and I had to request a change. Additionally, the food during happy hour ran out early, and there were no refills. While the overall stay was good, I would not recommend upgrading to a club room at this time, as the amenities seem unpredictable.
"Good hotel marred by unprofessional staff"
The Leela Palace is a beautiful hotel, but its reservations team is a major letdown. After sending multiple messages to secure a reservation, I finally received a rude and unprofessional response. When I escalated the matter to a supervisor and explained that I would be taking my business elsewhere, he apologized sincerely and offered an upgrade. I accepted his apology and gave the property another chance, ultimately staying for nine nights. To be fair, the stay itself was excellent, with outstanding service from housekeeping, concierge, and F&B teams. However, to my surprise, when I reached out again just a week after checking out to book another 15-night stay, my messages went completely unanswered. It has now been over a week, and no one from the reservations team has even acknowledged my request. As a seasoned hospitality professional, I can’t stress enough: 1) The reservations team is the first point of contact with potential guests, and a bad first impression can lose business. 2) Response time matters — even if you can’t accommodate a request, acknowledge it and explain why. 3) Repeat business is harder to earn than first-time business, so don’t neglect loyal guests. Ignoring messages is unacceptable and sends the wrong message about your brand. Needless to say, as a frequent visitor to New Delhi, The Leela Palace will no longer be my preferred hotel.
"amazing experience"
I wanted to take a moment to appreciate the outstanding service at The Leela and its impressive infrastructure. It was truly a wonderful experience, with everything being perfect from start to finish. I had an amazing time throughout my stay, and the attention to detail was commendable. A special thank you to Mr. Abhinandan for his excellent work and dedication, which made the experience even more memorable.
"Longtime Guest Reflects on Changing Service at Leela Palace"
As a devoted guest of The Leela Palace for over a decade with more than 20 stays, it saddens me to write this review. The Leela Palace has always been synonymous with luxury and world-class service, but recent experiences have not lived up to its once-stellar reputation. Luxury hospitality is built on seamless, attentive service — something Leela Palace used to excel at. Unfortunately, our recent stays, including the latest one with family, have been marked by recurring issues. We found ourselves having to repeatedly voice complaints just to receive the level of service that was once effortless. During our last visit, the promised room upgrade was not honored, and just a day before arrival, we were informed that the Royal Club Lounge (which we had paid extra for) would be unavailable. These last-minute changes are highly inconvenient and inconsistent with the standards one expects from Leela Palace. In contrast, our recent stays at The Oberoi in Agra and The Leela Palace Jaipur met the benchmark for luxury hospitality and highlighted the inconsistency across properties. This unpredictability of service standards is concerning. What used to be stress-free and indulgent stays at Leela Palace are now marked by a sense of vigilance and disappointment. While the property’s grandeur and charm remain, the service — the very cornerstone of luxury hospitality — has clearly declined. I hope this feedback serves as a wake-up call for The Leela Palace to restore the exceptional guest experience that once defined the brand and made it our preferred choice for so many years.
"Think twice before booking this place"
This was by far the most disappointing stay I’ve had at a New Delhi hotel in a decade. My room was booked and prepaid well in advance, and I had never requested a smoking room. Yet, when I arrived very late at night (around 2:00 a.m.), the duty managers decided—without consulting me—to place me in a stinking room on the smoking 4th floor. After I complained, it still took them another 15 minutes to find me a different room on the 3rd floor (#337, if I recall correctly). The only good thing about the room was that it didn’t smell like an ashtray. Unfortunately, the problems didn’t end there. The bathroom was a complete disaster. The wall-mounted shower didn’t work at all, the handheld shower leaked badly and eventually broke into two pieces, and the toilet flush was hanging loose, clearly needing maintenance before anyone should have been checked into the room. Even the clock on the bathroom wall was falling apart. The room’s electrical system was equally frustrating. The light switches were confusing and poorly planned, requiring me to walk around the room to switch off lamps before bed. There was a desk but no accessible power outlets for devices—one had to unplug a phone or lamp to use a socket. Breakfast service was another disappointment. While supervisors were overly eager to ask about my impressions, there were too few waiters to actually provide good service. It took three reminders and over 10 minutes just to get a cup of coffee, and despite placing my omelette order, I received something entirely different. I documented all of these issues in writing and submitted them to the hotel management upon checkout, but I never received any response. My advice to anyone visiting Delhi: look elsewhere for a truly luxurious, friendly, and well-managed hotel. This property falls far short of the standards expected at this level.
"Library Bar"
My friends and I had a wonderful time at The Library Bar in The Leela Palace. The place has a beautiful and cozy vibe, making it perfect for a relaxed evening. I tried their signature cocktail, Pablo Picasso, which was absolutely amazing! It was recommended by our server, Astitva, who was super helpful and friendly. The drink itself was crafted by bartender Bharat, and he did a fantastic job – it’s honestly one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. Great service, great atmosphere, and an unforgettable drink. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in Delhi!
"Higher charges for Airport Transfer in same BMW vehicle"
The hotel itself is good, but the airport pickup and drop service is extremely overpriced. The cost is nearly 10 times higher compared to airport taxis or other online private luxury vehicles – even for the same BMW vehicle for airport transfers. While the stay was pleasant, I would strongly recommend arranging your own transportation, as the hotel's airport transfer service is simply not worth the price.
"Great stay"
Out of my many stays at Leela properties across India, this visit truly felt like coming back home. The rooms were comfortable, and the buffet breakfast was excellent. A special shoutout to Mr. Puneet at breakfast for being so attentive and catering to my needs with genuine care. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back soon!
