Miraflores Park, A Belmond Hotel, Lima

"Terrible soundproofing."
The soundproofing of the rooms is completely inadequate for a hotel of this category. Interior noises from neighboring rooms, doors, and bathrooms can be clearly heard, which is very disappointing. Aside from this, the rest of the room was perfectly fine.
"Great Lima Hotel"
This is an amazing hotel with outstanding service and a wonderful atmosphere. The food was perfect, and the restaurant was absolutely delicious. The location next to the ocean makes it even more special. Highly recommended!
"Beutiful hotel"
The hotel was great, and breakfast overlooking the coast was a real highlight—both delicious and scenic. The staff were wonderful and very welcoming. The only drawback was the heavy traffic, which made getting around difficult, and I wasn’t particularly fond of the Miraflores area, mainly because of this issue.
"I didn’t like it."
I did not enjoy my stay at this hotel. We were given a city-view room with a horrible view. Weeks before our stay, we personally visited to confirm the booking and requested a change to an ocean-view room. We were told the change had to be made through our travel agency. The agency sent an email, which was never answered. When we arrived two weeks later, the hotel was full and only then acknowledged the email. The breakfast buffet was also very poor. It’s a real shame because we had just stayed in other Belmond properties like El Monasterio in Cusco and the Andean Explorer train, which were exceptional. Unfortunately, this hotel in Lima does not live up to the standard and is not worth the cost.
"Nice hotel with fabulous breakfast"
We stayed two nights at this high-rise hotel perched on the cliff overlooking the ocean in Lima’s glamorous Miraflores district. Our 4th-floor room was large with more traditional furnishings, giving it a somewhat conservative feel. Half of our floor was partitioned off, so I wonder if updates are underway. The room had USB-C and USB-A ports by the bed, and the Wi-Fi coverage was very good. The bed was comfortable, although despite the large pillow menu, I never did find the perfect one. The AC was quiet and worked well. The staff were fantastic and extremely service-minded—truly 5-star. The breakfast buffet was also outstanding, with a massive array of options and a hot food menu. The pastries and breads looked straight out of a Parisian patisserie and were completely different on the second morning, which was a delightful surprise. The buffet also featured many local foods and exotic fruits alongside the usual cheeses, meats, and fresh fruit. Overall, a very nice hotel with an incredible breakfast and excellent service.
"too cold in the lobby and restaurants and impossible to eat without garlic"
The restaurant was terrible. I don’t like garlic, and the only dish I could find without garlic or onion was the spaghetti cacio e pepe, which was disappointing. Additionally, the restaurant, entrance hall, and breakfast area are kept uncomfortably cold, making it unpleasant to stay in these spaces for more than 10 minutes.
"Upscale lobby, professional service, moldy smell"
The lobby and bar are very nice, and the staff were consistently helpful and polite. During our winter stay, the rooftop poolside breakfast didn’t offer much of a view, though I’m sure it’s beautiful in the summer. Our guest bathroom was lovely, but the room itself felt shabby with worn carpet and furniture and had a moldy smell that triggered my allergies. I suspect it may have come from the humidifier (or dehumidifier) in the room, which I shut off quickly just in case. Additionally, one of the two elevators was out of service for our entire stay, which made coming and going slower than it should have been.
"Rooms are not 5 star"
The hotel is nice, and the wait staff provide very good, high-standard service. The breakfast was excellent, with a large variety of food and beverages. Unfortunately, the room and bathroom were not clean and were poorly maintained. The coffee machine was not working, and although I booked a city-view room, the "view" was simply nearby apartment buildings. I have stayed at this hotel before and enjoyed it, but this time was disappointing. Sadly, I can’t recommend the hotel based on this experience.
"Decent Space, but Unspectacular Food"
I was so excited for our work retreat at the Belmond, which is ranked among the top 25 hotels in South America. Based in Lima, where the standards for service and cuisine are already high, I expected an extraordinary experience. While nothing was wrong per se, there was also nothing special. The decor was uninspiring, and the service, while acceptable, was not exceptional. The staff did accommodate my request to refrigerate breast milk, which I appreciated, but overall, it wasn’t the level of hospitality I anticipated. The biggest disappointment, however, was the food. We had two catered lunches with prefixed menus, and both were mediocre at best. The first salad included processed parmesan cheese, and the second—a caprese—had what seemed like processed mozzarella, possibly even string cheese. The chicken cordon bleu was made with rolled-up lunch meat and then deep-fried, with no bleu cheese at all. In Lima, where fresh cheese and ham are easily available, this was very disheartening. Overall, the experience was edible but far from fine dining and certainly not what one expects from a hotel with such a prestigious reputation. Very disappointing.
"Exceptional in every way."
Everything about this hotel is exceptional, as you would expect from the Belmond chain. This was the first of four Belmond hotels we stayed at in Peru, and the experience was so outstanding that we are now considering staying at Belmond properties around the world. The rooms are beautifully appointed, and the location is exceptional—set in a very safe, newly developed area within walking distance to a wide variety of shops and restaurants. The staff are extremely well trained and attentive, ensuring a flawless stay. Breakfast was the highlight of our day; it was truly breathtaking. The club lounge also offered a fantastic selection of handmade cakes and sandwiches that we thoroughly enjoyed. We absolutely loved our time here. It was worth every penny. Don’t think twice—just book it!
"Not Bad at all!"
This is a very nice place with great service and pleasant staff. Security and safety are evident 24/7, and the cleanliness is always impeccable. Breakfasts were absolutely awesome and a real highlight of the stay. The only drawback is the restaurant—unless you have reservations, plenty of time, and a lot of flexibility, it’s best to skip it. Other than that, everything was excellent!
"Lobby a mess from renovation"
The hotel was in the midst of significant lobby renovations that were not disclosed when I made the reservation, which is unacceptable for a luxury property. While the service itself was great, the check-in and check-out process was very compromised as a result of the construction. This lack of transparency was extremely disappointing.
