"Basic hotel is safe neighbourhood"

Located at coordinates -12.11779°, -77.02732°, right in the heart of Miraflores, this hotel offers great access to Kennedy Park, nearby restaurants, shops, and the local craft market. The neighborhood is considered safe and very convenient for walking. The hotel features a lift and has 5 rooms per floor, each with an exterior window. They also provide luggage storage for guests. During our stay in April 2025, we stayed in room 303 on the 3rd floor. The room was clean and had a comfortable double bed. The air conditioner was quite noisy, but the Wi-Fi reception was good. Our window faced outside but offered no particular view. The hotel could benefit from better maintenance overall. Breakfast was served buffet-style, but the options were limited and the buffet often ran empty. It took staff quite a while to replenish food. In summary, Mariel Hotel is a simple, no-frills accommodation option located in a safe and convenient part of Lima’s Miraflores district.

"Nice staff, unfortunately not anymore"

The hotel’s central location is very convenient, and the staff are exceptionally nice and helpful. Breakfast was great, with a friendly waiter providing excellent service. However, the rooms are quite noisy—even with windows closed—and can get uncomfortably warm if you don’t want to run the air conditioning all night. Also, the takeaway breakfast option was disappointing, with a dry bun carelessly packed into a bag.

"Great value for money!"

This hotel is very well located—close to everything you need, from great restaurants and craft centers to supermarkets and parks. The nearby city tour company offers a top-notch bus tour, which was a highlight of our trip. The service here was great, and the atmosphere was quiet and peaceful. Also, the nearby Claro operator made buying a local SIM card easy and affordable, which really helped us stay connected. Overall, a fantastic choice!

"Room without a view"

I stayed here twice during my trip to Peru. Initially, I was given a room with no view that felt quite claustrophobic. After requesting, I was moved to a more comfortable room with a nice view. The hotel is conveniently close to shops and restaurants. However, when I returned after a couple of weeks of touring, I was assigned the room without a view again. This room was in need of some decorating, with many scuff marks on the walls, and the sheets had an unpleasant smell. Since I was only staying one night, I made do with the room I was given.

"Good hotel in the safe district of Miraflores"

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a round trip. The hotel is centrally located in Miraflores, a safe and upscale district with many official buildings, shops, and restaurants. The strong police presence adds to the feeling of security. The hotel itself is modern, with clean and functional rooms. Breakfast was good and sufficient. Just around the corner from Hotel Britannia is a small grocery store where you can shop conveniently and affordably. The sea is about a 15-minute walk away, and nearby is the Larcomar shopping center, featuring many brand stores, especially for sports and outdoor gear.

"Just ok nothing special"

Our travel agent booked this hotel for us — two nights on the first stay and one night on the second. We slept comfortably, but there was an awkward smell on the bath towels, which we suspect came from the detergent used or insufficient washing. For our second check-in a week later, we were upgraded to an apartment block around the corner, which meant walking back to the main hotel for breakfast. The breakfast was okay, and the staff were friendly. The 24-hour Metro supermarket near Kennedy Park is about 20 minutes away. The hotel’s Wi-Fi could use improvement. One small plus — the English version of CNN was available.

"beautiful, nice and small hotel in Miraflores, Lima."

A charming small hotel in Miraflores, perfectly located close to shops, Kennedy Park, and excellent restaurants. The rooms are accessible by elevator and feature comfortable beds. The staff are friendly and the showers are nice. It’s a great base for exploring Lima. Taxis are cheap and can take you anywhere in the city for less than 5 euros!

"Nice hotel but one rude staff ruined it"

We arrived here after being told our previous hotel was overbooked. Over the phone, we were given a certain price for the room, but upon arrival, the receptionist told us the room cost double. When I asked for an explanation, she simply repeated, “I don’t know.” Her attitude was exceptionally rude and she was not helpful at all. Eventually, we booked the Mariel apartments across the street. The receptionist said we could proceed but didn’t give us a key. After walking around with our luggage for 10 minutes, we returned only to be told we needed to get the key from the hotel reception, as there is no separate reception at the apartments. This was confusing and frustrating, as we had no prior information about this arrangement. Apart from that receptionist, the rest of the hotel staff was nice, and overall our experience was positive. However, the initial interaction was very unprofessional and disappointing.

"ACCOMMODATION WITHOUT COMFORT, WE STAYED IN 01 TRIPLE ROOM THAT HAD NO SPACE"

The hotel benefits from a great location near the main avenue, making it convenient to get around. The reception staff were cordial and provided very good service, which was a positive aspect of our stay. However, the breakfast was very weak, with food taking a long time to be replenished. Cleaning was poor, and it felt like renovations were ongoing and never quite finished, which affected the overall experience.

"Nice experience"

My vacation was very enjoyable thanks to this hotel. The rooms were very comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly—truly making me feel at home. The entertainment was excellent, with great shows and lively animation. The team, including Shocolate and others, did a fantastic job. I highly recommend this hotel for a welcoming and pleasant stay!

"Well located hotel"

The hotel is very well located, and I received good service at reception. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed, and both the room and bathroom were clean. While the facilities were simple, they met my expectations perfectly.

"Could be a great hotel"

We booked an airport pickup through the hotel, but upon arrival, our room wasn’t ready and we had to wait 45 minutes with no apology or explanation about amenities such as Wi-Fi or breakfast (when and where to find it). Additionally, the hotel is right next to a construction site that was very noisy between 7:30 am and 5:00 pm. Since changing rooms was not an option, it was difficult to rest—especially as I was unwell. This important detail should have been disclosed before booking. Another inconvenience was that the bar and restaurant only accepted cash, and charges couldn’t be added to the room bill. We were caught off guard and had to find an ATM to pay. Oddly, the waiter had to go downstairs to reception to get change, which was frustrating. On the positive side, the staff were friendly, the rooms were of good quality, and the location is ideal.
