"Disappointed – Misleading Sales and No After-Sales Support"
Jaime is a good salesman — but that’s where it ends. Once you've paid, don’t expect any after-sales service or response to complaints. I booked a tour to Parque Manu, and the package included the rental of binoculars, which were never provided. Despite reaching out, Jaime never responded to address the issue. The trip itself went well, thanks to an excellent guide, but I later found out that other participants booked through different agencies and paid less for exactly the same service. In short, you’re paying extra for empty promises and poor service. Look elsewhere for a more honest and responsive agency.
"Excellent Service on the Inca Jungle Tour – Highly Recommended"
We had an excellent experience with this travel agency on the Inca Jungle tour. Everything went perfectly from start to finish. The agency handled the entire excursion seamlessly, and the guides were incredibly knowledgeable and experienced, which made the trip even more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this travel agency to anyone looking for a well-organized and unforgettable adventure.
"Disappointing Experience with Vertigo Travel – Avoid for Machu Picchu Tickets"
This is the first bad review I’ve ever felt the need to write. I recently completed the Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu. The trek itself was fantastic — everything went smoothly thanks to KB Adventures, the agency that actually managed the trip on the ground. However, things took a turn on the most important day: the visit to Machu Picchu. My entrance ticket was booked through Vertigo Travel, and it turned out to be invalid. I immediately contacted the owner to resolve the issue, but instead of offering real help, he just dismissed my concerns with a casual “Everything is going to be alright, amigo…” That response was not only unprofessional but incredibly frustrating during such a crucial part of the trip. I do NOT recommend booking with Vertigo Travel. Choose a more reliable agency to avoid unnecessary stress on what should be the highlight of your journey.
"Reliable and Well-Organized Tour Agency"
We had a good experience with this tour agency. They sell and operate the tours themselves, which adds a layer of accountability and consistency. Everything was delivered as promised — from transportation and food to knowledgeable guides. No surprises, just a smooth and well-managed tour from start to finish. Would recommend for travelers looking for a reliable and straightforward tour experience.
"Kind Staff but Poor Tour Experience – Disorganized and Disappointing"
The staff at this agency were very kind and polite, and the owner spoke both English and Korean fluently, so booking the tour was easy and smooth. However, the tour itself was disappointing. The guide spent too much time at souvenir shops, which caused us to miss both the Salineras and Ollantaytambo ruins — two major highlights we were really looking forward to. To make matters worse, the taxi that was supposed to pick us up at Ollantaytambo station never showed up. We had to find and pay for a separate colectivo to return to Cusco. While the cost was refunded later, the situation was stressful and unpleasant. In short, while the staff are friendly and helpful during booking, the tour organization and time management were poor. I wouldn’t recommend this agency unless they significantly improve their logistics and guide scheduling.
"Overall Good Experience – City Tour & Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu"
We had two tours — a Cusco city tour and a Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu — and overall, the experience was very positive. City Tour Our guide Alfredo was excellent. Although we were the only two English-speaking tourists in the group, we were fully included and never felt left out. We were also picked up early from our hotel, which made everything smooth from the start. Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu Again, we were picked up early from our hotel. The train ride to the drop-off point was comfortable. However, our guide was quite late — he claimed he had been waiting for us, but in fact, he arrived about 30 minutes late, and we ended up missing each other briefly before he found us. Despite that rocky start, the trek was really enjoyable, and the guide was very knowledgeable about the trail and the area. The hostel, dinner, and the actual Machu Picchu tour were all fantastic — definitely the highlights of the experience.
"NOTHING RECOMMENDED – Avoid This Agency and Jaime at All Costs!"
We had a terrible experience with this agency, specifically with Jaime, who completely misled us and then disappeared when problems arose. While in Cusco, we visited the agency to book a jungle excursion as we were heading to Puerto Maldonado a few days later. Jaime seemed very friendly and empathetic, especially after we told him my passport had been stolen. We spent an hour discussing options in the morning and returned in the afternoon to confirm the tour. He sold us what was supposed to be a full-day tour including Lake Sandoval, zip-lining, and canopy bridges. Thankfully, we only left a small deposit instead of paying in full. Once in Puerto Maldonado, we went to the agency he had coordinated with. The woman there told us the tour only included Lake Sandoval — nothing else. She said she was only notified that same day that two people would be arriving. I asked her to call Jaime, and when she did, he claimed the tour was just for the lake, completely denying the rest. I tried calling Jaime multiple times and got no response. The local agent also tried again — nothing. She then told me, "Did you not check the reviews before? Jaime has a lot of bad ones, and this kind of thing happens often." I advised the local agency to stop working with him altogether, and I strongly urge anyone reading this to avoid Vertigo Travel and Jaime. He lied to us, took our money under false promises, and disappeared when confronted. Do yourself a favor: choose a reputable agency instead.
"Completely Unreliable – No Show and No Communication"
I booked a tour with Vertigo Travel, but they never showed up to pick me up. I waited and messaged them multiple times to ask what was going on, but received no reply at all. Thankfully, I hadn't paid upfront, so I didn’t lose money — just time and trust. Extremely unprofessional and unreliable. I would not recommend this agency to anyone.
"Mixed Experience on Ausangate Trek – Hidden Costs & Poor Campsite"
I did the Ausangate Trek with Vertigo Travel, and overall, it was a mixed experience. The tour guide, who was subcontracted by Vertigo, was fantastic — knowledgeable, professional, and a real highlight of the trek. However, the issues began with what we were told versus what we got. When we signed up, we were clearly informed that all costs were covered except for entrance fees. Despite this, we were asked to pay camping fees both nights, which came as an unexpected surprise. Even more disappointing was the second night’s campsite — it was a nightmare. There were barking, fighting, and howling dogs all night, making it impossible to sleep. I highly recommend bringing earplugs if you go. Vertigo needs to be more transparent about what’s included and choose better campsites. The trek itself is beautiful and the guide made the experience worthwhile, but the logistics and communication from Vertigo were lacking.
"Terrible Experience – Disorganized from Start to Finish"
Absolutely terrible experience with this agency. I would never recommend them to anyone. The organization was a complete disaster — nothing went right, from pickup to drop-off. It felt like no one knew what they were doing, and communication was nonexistent. Save yourself the frustration and book with a more professional company.
