Casa Bonay

"Disappointingly rude staff"
The rooms themselves were nice, but our overall experience was seriously let down by the staff. The women at the front desk seemed to view doing their job as a huge inconvenience, showing little regard for guest service. Similarly, the waitstaff on the rooftop and at breakfast were rude and curt. It’s a real shame because the hotel has the potential for a great vibe, but poor service makes it hard to enjoy.
"Quirky hotel in a great location"
We really enjoyed our few days at Casa Bonay. The room was lovely, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel is conveniently located right by the metro and within walking distance of main attractions like Sagrada Família and La Rambla. Absolutely no complaints!
"Excellent Location in Barcelona"
This hotel is located in a central neighborhood with plenty of mature trees and shade, within walking distance to most attractions and close to public transit. The decor is funky and unique, and while the rooms aren’t large, they are well-designed—especially the bathroom. Sound insulation is impressive; with the windows closed, hardly any noise comes in. The AC automatically turns off when the window is open, which is a thoughtful touch. We enjoyed the welcome cocktail at the lounge, as well as the hotel’s restaurants, lounge, and café. Minor drawbacks included inconsistent housekeeping. On some days, the “please make up room” sign was ignored, and we had to wait or remind the front desk for service. While not a deal breaker, it was somewhat inconvenient after long days of sightseeing. It would also be nice if the hotel offered discounts for its other restaurants or the wellness space. Overall, a stylish, comfortable, and conveniently located hotel with friendly staff.
"Odd place!"
I booked this hotel for one night after reading rave reviews, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. From the moment we arrived, my 15-year-old son and I felt uncomfortable. While there are some nice touches, such as free bikes to hire, the hotel’s style felt overly “try hard.” The dark bar area seemed geared toward younger guests in their 20s, and the corridors to the bedrooms felt more like a dormitory. The staff uniforms, while unique, gave a commune-like vibe. Our experience with reception was frustrating. When we tried to order a cab, the blond staff member was preoccupied with another couple outside and didn’t apologize for the delay. He attended to them again when we tried to ask for assistance, without acknowledging our wait. This lack of courtesy continued the following day. Overall, while the hotel has some interesting features, the atmosphere and service left us feeling unwelcome. I would not stay here again.
"Great concept, amazing coffee shop"
A fantastic concept with thoughtfully designed lounging areas and an amazing coffee shop. I especially loved the Malin Goeth products. The highlight was the massage—Ana is simply the best!
"nice location"
The room was a bit small for a couple, but the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Thank you very much for a pleasant stay!
"Beautifull place"
This hotel is wonderful! The location is ideal, the rooms are neat and clean, and the staff is truly exceptional. Staying here is a very pleasant experience, and I highly recommend it.
