"Disappointment"
We stayed at this hotel for seven nights last October. While cleanliness and location were excellent, the service was disappointing. I requested a pair of room slippers, but they were not provided. Additionally, a late-evening request for a hairdryer went unfulfilled, and I was told to wait until the next day—meaning I had to go to bed with wet hair. For a 4-star superior hotel, this level of service was below expectations.
"Great hotel and location"
This hotel is perfectly located for sightseeing—Aerobus, hop-on hop-off buses, shopping, and attractions are all within walking distance. The property is clean, and the staff are very friendly and attentive. The superior rooms are excellent, and there is a small but pleasant swimming pool. The air conditioning isn’t extremely cold, but it’s sufficient for comfort.
"Great!!"
The room was very nice, and the service was exceptional. The hotel has a fantastic location, though the gym is a bit small and the sunbeds are limited. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel!
"An overall disappointment despite the location"
The pension is very well located in Barcelona, but the experience did not meet expectations for a 4-star “superior” rating. Service was inconsistent: rooms were often not cleaned even when requested, and essentials like coffee or milk capsules were missing. While a breakfast offer was provided as a gesture, no other compensation was offered. The property itself is noisy, with poor soundproofing in hallways and doors slamming at all hours. Room layout was awkward, with the bathroom integrated into the bedroom, offering little privacy. There is no proper lobby, and accessing the breakfast/bar area requires multiple elevators or stairs, which is inconvenient. Overall, the price does not match the service or amenities, and the 4-star rating feels misleading. Travelers would likely find better value and comfort elsewhere.
"Great location in the center of Barcelona"
This hotel is excellently located for exploring central Barcelona and is impeccably clean. The rooms are modern with attention to detail in the furnishings, though they lack bidets and slippers. The pool on the first floor is very small—more for cooling your feet than swimming—but still a nice touch.
"Bad value for money"
The hotel is very centrally located, and the Junior Suite is clean, spacious, and well-appointed. However, several issues made the stay frustrating: the reception is tiny and outdated, room access requires two different elevators, and our room key cards stopped working after three days, causing delays at reception. Additionally, CNN International did not work on the TVs, and room cleaning was never done before 4:00 p.m., although staff knocked early on New Year’s Day to ask about our departure. Considering these issues, this hotel does not meet the standard of other 4-star properties in Barcelona. It feels closer to a 3-star experience and is not recommended.
"Decent hotel"
This hotel is excellently located for exploring central Barcelona and is impeccably clean. The rooms are modern with attention to detail in the furnishings, though they lack bidets and slippers. The pool on the first floor is very small—more for cooling your feet than swimming—but still a nice touch.
"Disappointing Room"
The room itself was very dark, and the terrace we paid extra for was completely enclosed by a wall, letting in almost no light—definitely not worth the additional cost. On the positive side, the décor, cleanliness, friendly staff, and restaurant food and service were all very satisfying.
"Good Location but Poor Customer Service"
I stayed at this hotel last year for five nights and had a wonderful experience, so I returned this year for a one-night pre-cruise stay. While the location remains excellent—close to Plaça Catalunya, the AeroBus, two metro stations, Passeig de Gracia, and Rambla Catalunya—the service this year was disappointing. The Junior Suite room was large by European standards, with a comfortable king-size bed, separate sitting area, and a well-designed bathroom. TV and WiFi worked well. Unfortunately, customer service was lacking. Check-in was delayed for three hours despite my Catalonia Rewards membership. Requests that were fulfilled last year, such as an additional luggage rack and cab assistance, were denied this time. Staff interactions were minimal, with few smiles or greetings. Most troubling was a full pre-charge to my credit card before arrival, which caused an extra $15 USD due to exchange rate fluctuations. Despite emailing the hotel, I received no response. In summary, if you value location over service, this hotel may suit you. For me, the decline in guest care means I’ll be seeking a different hotel on my next Barcelona visit.
"Perfect for Barcelona marathon"
I stayed here for the Barcelona Marathon, and the hotel couldn’t have been better located—just a 5-minute walk from the start and 10 minutes from the finish, so we didn’t need to use the bag drop. The hotel even provided an early breakfast for runners, which was a thoughtful touch. Rooms are spacious with comfortable beds, and ours faced the main road but remained quiet thanks to double glazing. The staff were very friendly, and overall service was excellent.
"Great location"
The hotel has a great location, and the staff are very friendly and attentive. The rooms are comfortable with good beds, air conditioning, and showers. Some small issues affected the overall experience: toiletries like soap and tissues were not always replenished daily, rooms were sometimes not serviced until late afternoon, and complimentary water and chocolates were only provided on the first day. Breakfast was good but lacked variety. Overall, a pleasant stay with minor service shortcomings.
"looks nice at the first sight"
The hotel is conveniently located near Placa de Catalunya, but that’s about the only positive. The bed was very uncomfortable, the room could have been cleaner, and breakfast was bland—the eggs tasted like nothing. Having two TVs in one room felt unnecessary. Overall, far too expensive for what you get.
