"Beautiful Hotel with Great Dining, but Room Cleanliness Needs Improvement"
The hotel is absolutely charming, and both the restaurant and bar have excellent staff with fantastic food and drinks. Unfortunately, the housekeeping left much to be desired—dust under the bed, dirty glasses left behind, and repeated cleaning requests went unfulfilled. Communication was also challenging, as most staff spoke only Spanish, making it difficult to address these issues. It’s a shame, as the hotel has top-notch amenities, but the room cleanliness fell short of expectations.
"A Memorable Stay with Exceptional Service"
The hotel is absolutely stunning, rich in history, and our stay in the Ottoman Suite was truly unforgettable! Eduardo at the front desk was incredibly friendly and helpful, even while training an intern, Dev. We also appreciated the pre-arrival email with thoughtful restaurant recommendations, which made planning our trip much easier. Before our visit, my boyfriend mentioned it was my birthday, and to our delight, we returned from dinner to a wonderful surprise in our room. Thank you for making my birthday so memorable!
"Perfect City Stay with Stunning Views"
A beautiful hotel right in the heart of the city! Our room was flawless in every way, and the rooftop pool was the perfect spot to cool off while enjoying incredible views of the Sagrada Familia. The staff were friendly and attentive, making our short stay truly memorable. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
"Beautiful Hotel with Charm, but Service Falls Short"
We stayed in one of the suites and absolutely loved the hotel’s beautiful design and thoughtful details. The suite was spacious, and the hotel was quiet at night, making for a comfortable stay. The staff at the entrance were very friendly, though the front desk staff on the second floor seemed disinterested and distracted, often focused on personal tasks rather than guests. Room service was inconsistent, and even in one of the nicer suites, some basic daily amenities were not provided. While the hotel is charming, the service does not live up to a typical five-star experience.
"Disappointing Service Overshadows Convenient Location"
This was one of the worst service experiences we’ve had at a hotel. At check-in, a more experienced staff member deferred to a newer employee, which made the process unusually slow—another couple who arrived after us nearly completed their check-in before we were done. Questions about the hotel were answered curtly, adding to a frustrating first impression. Later, we ordered ice for the room and waited over 15 minutes before calling again, only to be put on hold and disconnected. Even after being told the kitchen was aware, we waited another 20 minutes and had to retrieve the ice ourselves from the bar—it never arrived in the room. The room itself was fine, though a bit small, and the location is convenient. However, given better alternatives nearby—like the Almanac, which offered superior service and room quality at a lower price—this hotel is not worth considering.
"Beautiful Hotel, But Service Is Severely Lacking"
The hotel itself is beautiful, but the service leaves much to be desired. Despite being a Lifetime Platinum member, I had to wait over two hours past check-in to get a room, even after contacting a manager. The following morning, the restaurant staff completely ignored me when I asked for a coffee, forcing me to go elsewhere, and during breakfast, the staff acted as if we didn’t exist.
"Elegant Hotel in a Prime Location, but Showing Its Age"
We visited a few years ago and had fond memories of the hotel’s elegance. It remains a great place to stay due to its central location, friendly and responsive service, and comfortable environment. However, the hotel is overdue for a facelift—the furnishings show noticeable wear and tear, which somewhat detracts from the experience. Additionally, the top floors can experience occasional noise disturbances. Overall, I would still recommend staying here, albeit with these reservations in mind.
"Charming Historic Hotel with Exceptional Service"
The entire staff was friendly and attentive, with Reyes standing out as the most helpful and personable of all! The hotel enjoys a fantastic location, offers generously sized accommodations, and isn’t overcrowded with guests. The historic building has been beautifully preserved and thoughtfully decorated, adding to its charm and appeal.
