"Elegance with a casual theme!"
On our return visit, we dressed up for dinner and had a marvelous time. The restaurant may be a bit overpriced and perhaps not truly a 2-star experience, but it was perfect for celebrating a birthday in grand style.
"Nice view"
The restaurant is beautiful, offering stunning views and excellent service. We tried the 8-course Sunday menu, but half of the dishes contained truffles, which felt excessive. Additionally, the waiting times between courses were very long.
"Big disappointment despite great food"
This restaurant is truly a mixed bag. The two-star rating reflects the high price point and the fact that the service falls far short of what one would expect from a two-star Michelin establishment. On the positive side, the food is outstanding. Each dish was inventive, flavorful, and beautifully presented. In a fish-focused menu, it’s rare to find such variety and depth of flavor—five stars solely for the cuisine. The room itself is nicely decorated, and the tables are decently spaced, but the acoustics are poor. Our party of six struggled to hear each other across the table, despite all of us being well within hearing range. Unfortunately, the service was very disappointing. The staff appeared uncoordinated, disengaged, and seemingly indifferent to ensuring a quality dining experience. Specific issues included a 40-minute delay in serving the aperitif cava, nearly an hour before the first tapas, water orders mixed up, unfulfilled promises of fresh napkins, incomplete follow-up on quizzes, and poorly maintained toilets. Each issue alone might be forgivable, but together they created a sense of second-string, holiday-relief staffing rather than a professional Michelin team. We shared this feedback with the chef during our visit, who seemed confused and offered no response, and again the next day via the standard feedback request, which only received a brief apology and promised follow-up that had not occurred nine days later. I debated whether to rate two or three stars, but given the definition of two as “disappointing,” it seems most appropriate. Best regards to the kitchen team, who performed remarkably well despite the service shortcomings.
"More form than content but good"
I had much higher expectations for this restaurant. The wine pairings were mostly odd and didn’t complement the dishes well, despite the clear quality of their excellent cellar. Overall, I found the experience overrated and overpriced for what it offered. While I don’t mind spending this kind of money on a truly great meal, compared to other top restaurants in Barcelona, it fell short. On the positive side, the ambiance was wonderful, making for an enjoyable atmosphere.
"Great meal, but not quite worth the price"
There were some truly memorable dishes, including a boquerón on citrus meringue with a delightful texture, a piece of Wagyu beef that melted in the mouth, and the “Breaking Waves” dessert with coconut and cucumber—perfectly balanced and just sweet enough. While this was a solid Michelin tasting menu experience, it didn’t offer enough standout moments to justify the high cost, so it’s not a place I would rush back to.
"2 stars, but …"
We last dined here about four years ago, and since then the menu has evolved, and the wine list has improved significantly thanks to a new sommelier. Service throughout the meal was very good. We chose the seasonal Autumn tasting menu. Three of the four amuses were excellent, though one was rather plain. The initial seafood courses were tasty, and the crayfish course was very savory due to the mushrooms—better paired with the red wine we selected. The sole course, however, was more suited to white wine, which we had already finished. If the courses had been served in a different order, or the sommelier had opened the red wine earlier, the experience would have been smoother. The squab course and desserts were very enjoyable. A notable downside: the chef chose not to serve bread, which would have been perfect for savoring the sauces. Compared to another 2-star restaurant, Disfrutar, this meal felt less impressive. We were also surprised to discover that the bill did not include service—adding 20% on top of the food and wine was a significant extra cost, which is unusual in Europe.
"We were satisfied"
Our waiter was very nice, helpful, and enthusiastic. The food was delicious and special, and I loved that the menu offered plenty of seafood options. However, the air conditioning was extremely strong, leaving me very cold. We were also surprised by a €52 charge for the welcome drink, which we hadn’t expected. Additionally, the desserts were served too cold, causing me toothache.
"Not so good"
We dined and chose the tasting menu, but while I enjoy seafood, I only liked 8 out of the 15 dishes. Despite this, I felt it still lived up to its 2 Michelin stars. Highlights included the brioche, olive oil, and excellent service from Maarten. That said, in my opinion, Marc Fosh—holding just 1 Michelin star—offers a far better overall experience than Enoteca Paco Pérez.
"Stylish modern Michelin starred restaurant by the sea"
The restaurant features very contemporary seaside decor, offering both al fresco and indoor dining. The service is attentive, and multiple amuse-bouches set the stage for a gourmet culinary experience. The wine list is excellent, though like the restaurant itself, it comes at a premium price.
"Not bad."
Hello. At this restaurant, it sometimes feels like there is a bias against Russian guests, as they occasionally seem to be served last. It’s unclear if this is intentional or just the way the staff operate. The meal itself is very delicious; however, as other reviewers have noted, the quality of service is highly disappointing.
