"Quiet and Attentive Stay"
The hotel offers very good service, attentive and helpful staff, and a peaceful environment—perfect to rest away from the city’s hustle and bustle.
"Comfortable Stay with Quirky COVID Protocols"
The hotel offers comfortable beds, nice rooms, and charming grounds. Our suite lacked windows, but it wasn’t a major issue. The only drawback was the overly strict and excessive COVID protocols, which felt unnecessary and became tiresome during our three-day stay.
"Spacious Rooms but Lacking Amenities"
The rooms are spacious, but windows cannot be opened, and there is no heating, air conditioning, or fan. We experienced water outages, the TV did not work, and rooms were not always cleaned.
"Historic Mansion Hotel in Arequipa"
I stayed two nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The property is a former mansion of a Peruvian president (1899–1903), giving a unique historical atmosphere. The rooms are beautifully designed with high ceilings, the hotel is spotless, and the staff are very friendly. The location is convenient, and if you enjoy historic buildings, this hotel is a must.

We stayed in the apartment at Hotel Casona Solar and loved it. The setting with two courtyards was lovely, and the basic breakfast was good. We enjoyed the friendly cats wandering the courtyards. The beds were comfortable with big, fluffy comforters, making for a cozy stay.

Our family of five stayed for two nights during Semana Santa. The location is excellent—within walking distance of the main plaza and nearby amenities. The property is beautiful, with a pleasant courtyard and ample seating, perfect for relaxing and spending time together. Some drawbacks: a strong cleaning odor in the bathroom, limited toiletries, slightly worn towels, and breakfast service was a bit slow on our last morning. Overall, for the price, Hotel Casona Solar is a good value. With some improvements, it could easily be a five-star stay.

This Casona felt like home! The staff and owners were delightful, ensuring we had everything we needed. The atmosphere is cozy, the rooms are clean with lovely details and a pleasant scent, and the breakfast is excellent. Easily the best place we’ve stayed in Peru!

The hotel is centrally located in Arequipa’s historic center, with narrow streets nearby. Note that there is no parking available.
"Comfortable Family Suite in Central Arequipa"
Our family of four stayed three nights in the family suite, which was spacious, comfortable, and included a small kitchen—nice for extra space even if we didn’t cook. The location is very convenient for attractions, restaurants, and bars. The staff were professional and welcoming, with a special thanks to Natalie for her warm hospitality. Our only issue was limited hot water, which even caused the breaker to trip on the first night. Despite this, we had a pleasant stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Arequipa.
