Banyan Tree Bangkok

"Great Stay with Exceptional Service"
The hotel is very nice and conveniently located in the city center. The staff are kind, helpful, and provide excellent service. I stayed three nights and had a great experience. A special mention goes to the masseuse, Manow—truly a professional, providing an exceptional massage experience. The only downside was that the rooms are not very soundproof, and hallway noise could be heard.
"Disappointing Rooftop Experience at Banyan Tree"
Tonight’s visit to Banyan Tree left me in tears. After extensive planning—even emailing the hotel before leaving Australia—we never got to experience their rooftop bar. Despite over an hour in traffic, we were told it was closed due to a brief rain shower that had ended 15 minutes earlier. The alternative indoor bar was fully booked, and we were ultimately redirected to the lobby bar, which was not what we came for. As an Accor Platinum member, I had high expectations, but the staff were unemotional, slightly condescending, and gave us no chance to wait or be accommodated. We lost 2 taxis, 2.5 hours, and a special night of our Bangkok experience. While I understand weather is uncontrollable, the handling of the situation was extremely disappointing. I would not stay here again or recommend it.
"Overpriced Hotel with Poor Service"
The hotel feels dated, and the Vertigo rooftop restaurant and bar were pretentious, with rude staff. Post-stay, it’s clear there are better hotels with superior bars for much less money. The pool is tiny, and non-guests paying to use it makes it overcrowded with insufficient seating.
"Extremely Disappointing Stay – Avoid This Hotel"
This was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve had. The bedding was too soft, causing back pain, the bathroom sink was dirty, and the water pressure was weak. The windows were not soundproof, making earplugs necessary due to road noise. Towels were insufficient, and requests for more took over 30 minutes with a dismissive response. Worse, the room had an unattractive cement structure obstructing the window view. When questioned, staff insisted it was the “best view” room and became irritated, showing extremely poor customer service. The overall service level is far below a 5-star standard. Complaints are dismissed rather than addressed. Never stay here.
"Disappointing Stay at an Outdated Hotel"
This hotel, built in 2002, now feels very old and run-down. The rooms lack modern amenities such as smart TVs and sufficient power outlets, which is inconvenient for devices like CPAP machines. We booked a Skyline City View but were initially offered a smaller room and eventually moved to a Skyline Park View. The breakfast was underwhelming compared to other Bangkok hotels, and the pool is mostly shaded with freezing water—surprising for a so-called 5-star property. The location is out of the way; I would prefer staying in Sukhumvit and would not return here.
"Disappointing Stay with Outdated Facilities"
My recent stay at this hotel was disappointing. The property is old, with outdated facilities in need of renovation, and a THB 15,000 deposit was required at check-in. Assistance with luggage was slow, forcing us to carry our own bags, and there was only one staff member at the front desk, resulting in long waits—especially frustrating when rushing for a flight. Overall, both the facilities and service need significant improvement.
"Spacious Rooms and Enjoyable Stay"
The hotel is tucked behind an office tower, which can seem unusual at first. The lobby is spacious and features a bar, and the breakfast area doubles as a restaurant during the day. Staff are very accommodating, though occasional language barriers can cause minor hiccups, and check-in took slightly longer than expected. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully equipped with incense and other amenities. Overall, an enjoyable stay.
"Disappointing Service at an Otherwise Nice Hotel"
The hotel is perfectly located and the rooms are nice, but the service did not meet the standards I expected from a Banyan Tree property. Check-in was underwhelming—our welcome drink arrived without proper introduction, and there was no room walkthrough despite it being our first visit. Inside the room, a used candle was not replaced, and the next day, tea and coffee were not replenished. It felt like the staff were stretched too thin to maintain the usual high standards. A disappointing experience overall.
Banyan Tree Bangkok
Renowned for its rooftop bar and restaurant, Vertigo, this hotel offers panoramic city views. Its spacious suites, wellness center, and impeccable service make it a top choice for travelers seeking sophistication.
