"Recommend to stay"

We spent two nights at this charming hostel and were very impressed. We arrived early on the first day, and the friendly staff accommodated us by giving us our room at 9 AM. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the location was perfect for our short stay. We would gladly stay here again.

"Beware the bed"

The hostel is well located and the staff are excellent, just as others have mentioned. However, our stay in one of the private rooms in the main building was disappointing—the bed was extremely hard, almost like a wooden slab, so we requested a refund. After some delay and negotiation, we were moved to a family room in the newer section across the street, which was very nice. We’ve stayed in many hostels worldwide, and while we don’t expect Marriott-level beds, this was too uncomfortable. If we had been given the newer room from the start, this would easily have been a 5-star experience. My advice: avoid private rooms in the main building unless you confirm the bed has been updated, and choose the newer rooms for a great stay.

"4 for the staff and ambiance."

We really enjoyed our stay at this hostel! The location is fantastic—just a 15-minute walk to Khao San Road and Chinatown, with plenty of street food and markets nearby. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even recommending a great pad Thai place we loved. The hostel has a unique ambiance compared to others, a cozy café, and clean showers. I also enjoyed the fried rice with basil chicken! The downsides were minor: the room was quite cold with no easy way to adjust the AC, the décor was basic, and the bed was a bit hard for my taste. We had booked a deluxe double but ended up in a twin room without a window, which was a bit funny for us as a couple!

"Excellent service, great setting, humidity in room."

The staff at reception and in the kitchen were fantastic—so kind and helpful! The hostel itself is beautiful, with many lovely details throughout. Our only issue was that the room on the 4th floor had some humidity, which caused a slight odor when entering, but this was easily solved by opening the windows. Despite this, I would definitely recommend this hostel!

"Fantastic location and friendly staff"

We chose this hostel for its location and were not disappointed—just a 10-minute walk to Khaosan Road, the Grand Palace, and Wat Pho, with great restaurants nearby. We received a friendly welcome, including a welcome drink, and were shown to our private budget room. The room was dark with only a dirty skylight for natural light, thin walls, and a rather hard mattress. Despite this, the room and shared bathrooms were clean. The air conditioning worked well, and breakfast was basic but acceptable, mainly eggs and white toast.

"Great ambience and location"

This hostel is perfectly located for exploring the temples, and there are amazing places to eat just steps away. The atmosphere is wonderful, making you feel truly immersed in Thailand. Breakfast offers several options, from Thai to American, and it was very tasty. The staff were helpful and friendly. The only drawbacks were a hard mattress and a slightly smelly bathroom, but overall it was a very enjoyable stay.

"Amazing staff and location BUT…"

We stayed in an ensuite room, which was decent, and the hostel staff were amazing. The location is unbeatable, close to all major attractions. However, the mattress was extremely hard—practically like sleeping on the floor—which made it difficult to rest during our two-night stay.

"Stylish hostel"

The hostel is very well located in the Old City, within walking distance to all major attractions and the ferry. However, it is close to busy roads, so it can be noisy from early morning until late at night. Getting from the airport is easy via the Airport Rail Link followed by a taxi or Grab. The private rooms are in a separate building, nicely decorated, clean, and the service was excellent.

"Beautiful Hostel"

The Niras Bangkok Cultural Hostel is beautifully decorated, quiet, and perfect if you want to relax while staying at the hostel. We stayed in a private room, which was nicely decorated with effective AC and a good-sized shower at the right temperature. The towels, however, smelled of humidity as if not washed properly, which was a minor inconvenience. The TV had no channels, and the DVD player wasn’t connected, but since we spent little time in the room, it wasn’t an issue. The staff were great, providing a free breakfast voucher that was very good, and they recommended Thip Samai, a fantastic pad Thai restaurant nearby. Remember to remove your shoes before going upstairs, and it’s a good idea to keep them with you, as some shoes in the hall had unpleasant odors. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hostel to a friend.

"Good"

This hotel has many positives: it’s very well located near the temples, the rooms are clean, modern, and nicely decorated, with excellent air conditioning. Housekeeping cleaned our room daily, and the staff were friendly and helpful during check-in, check-out, and breakfast. Breakfast is included, with good quality food, though the options are limited. However, there are several drawbacks. Credit cards incur a 3% fee. Noise is a major issue due to a construction site nearby starting at 7 AM, plus traffic noise at night. Breakfast is served in a separate building across a busy street, which can be inconvenient, and service can be slow—expect to wait around 45 minutes. They also refused to adjust breakfast charges for just a cappuccino or for early departures. Additionally, the WiFi didn’t work reliably.
