"Beautiful calming hotel"
This hotel and spa offers a serene, calming atmosphere with beautiful facilities. The infinity pool is a highlight, though the limited number of sunbeds can be a challenge. The spa is excellent and definitely worth visiting, while the rooms and overall service are very good. Its location is also a plus—just a short walk to Fisherman’s Village with its shops, restaurants, and the lively Coco Tams. One drawback was the lack of a visitors’ room near reception. Arriving before check-in, we had to wait five hours without a private space to store luggage or change clothes. Opening our suitcases in the lobby and changing in public restrooms felt uncomfortable. Providing a designated visitors’ area would greatly improve the guest experience. The adjoining beach, while picturesque, is narrow and not the best for lounging. Although the hotel can’t change the landscape, some enhancements to make the area more attractive and comfortable would be welcome. Overall, a beautiful and relaxing hotel with great amenities, perfect for those seeking peace and easy access to Fisherman’s Village.
"Amazing Hotel Let Down by Robotic and Insensitive Staff"
Our recent family holiday at Celes Samui was full of extreme highs and lows. On the positive side, the resort itself is beautiful, modern, and very well equipped. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully designed with luxury touches such as a Bose portable speaker, both indoor and outdoor showers, and beach bags for guest use. Our master bed was enormous, the porch was a lovely retreat, and the pools and private beach were fantastic. Breakfast was a highlight each morning with a fresh, varied buffet, and the spa offered truly 5-star treatments. Unfortunately, these positives were completely overshadowed by the lack of hospitality and poor customer service. From the start, there was no real welcome—just room keys handed over with no map or explanation of the facilities. Serious problems quickly followed. On our first day, both bathrooms in our connecting rooms flooded with what appeared to be raw sewage. Rather than apologizing and resolving the issue, the staff accused us of blocking the toilets with paper—a deeply unprofessional and insulting response. A sewage odor lingered for the rest of our stay, upsetting our children who were reluctant to use the bathrooms. Recent TripAdvisor reviews suggest this is an ongoing problem. Our booking was clearly for five guests, but the sofa bed for our children was not made up. When we asked for bedding, we were told we’d need to pay an additional fee. After dispute, only a duvet and pillow were provided—no sheets, and the bed left unmade. Housekeeping also repeatedly left just four towels for a family of five. Service overall felt petty and unaccommodating. By the pool, after we ordered drinks and food, we were told we could not eat a small snack from a local stall there and had to take it back to our room. At checkout, two staff members came to “inspect” our rooms as if we were being searched, counting every spoon and glass. Not once did anyone ask if we enjoyed our stay or wish us a safe journey. The facilities at Celes Samui are excellent, but the service is cold, robotic, and at times accusatory. For a property that could easily offer a world-class experience, the lack of hospitality training and the recurring plumbing issues made our stay stressful instead of relaxing. Until management addresses these fundamental problems, I cannot recommend this hotel, especially for families.
"Everything is generally okay, with some suggestions, but not in a bad way, but to let you know what happened."
Our stay came with both positives and drawbacks. Some of us really enjoyed the comfort of the two pillows, though the mattress was quite firm and made it harder to get a good night’s sleep. The room itself felt a bit dated and slow to meet expectations, with closets that could use a better design. At the buffet, the options were limited—no oatmeal or peanut milk available. The TV in the lounge area seemed to stay on unless manually switched off, which was odd. Room amenities were mixed: while the bathroom mirror was spotless and the full-length mirrors useful, the side tables were too low, and the oversized lamps felt impractical. On the brighter side, the library, restaurant, and buffet area offered a pleasant atmosphere, and we loved the surprise of meeting the hotel’s resident cat, which added a warm, homey touch. Overall, while there were enjoyable aspects, the stay could benefit from thoughtful improvements in comfort, amenities, and attention to detail.
"Beautiful Hotel with a Disappointing Check-In Experience"
We recently stayed at Celes Samui, and while the hotel itself is beautiful and offers great amenities, our check-in experience unfortunately dampened our mood. Upon arrival, the staff member at reception insisted that we needed to pay an additional 1,500 Baht per night for my 10-year-old son, despite my explaining that he would be sharing the same bed with us. I was prepared to pay the fee for our two-night stay, but something didn’t feel right. After checking the hotel’s policy on Agoda—where I had booked—I confirmed that children under 11 sharing a bed with parents incur no extra charge. Only after showing this policy was the fee waived, though we were still charged 850 Baht for two nights of breakfast for my son. Aside from this initial frustration, the rest of our stay was very pleasant. The hotel is beautifully maintained, with a serene atmosphere and excellent facilities. Breakfast was a standout, offering a wide variety of options to suit all tastes. Overall, we had a good stay, but the check-in process left a sour first impression. A bit more clarity and consistency in communication from the staff would go a long way toward making the guest experience truly seamless.
"Nice hotel really bad food and unfriendly staff"
The hotel itself looks nice, but it’s really let down by the staff and amenities. Although it wasn’t busy at all—some days we were the only ones at the pool—the pools didn’t seem properly maintained. They appeared to lack chlorine, and stray dogs and cats were often seen drinking from them. The reception staff, especially the woman at the open reception desk, were rude and unhelpful whenever we had issues. The restaurant was another major disappointment. The food was overpriced, poorly prepared, and the service very slow. It was so empty that they offered 20% discounts, which makes sense given how bad the dining experience was. Honestly, it’s better to walk out of the hotel and turn left—you’ll find much nicer and better value places to eat. Housekeeping was inconsistent. The bedding wasn’t changed regularly enough, though the housekeeper himself was very kind and probably the only staff member who left a positive impression. The rooms are spacious, with the upstairs ones offering more light compared to the darker ground-floor options. Overall, the property has potential, but poor service, subpar amenities, and terrible dining let it down badly.
"Fed up with these uneducated tourists"
This hotel is truly superb—a little paradise with a perfect location, beautiful surroundings, and wonderfully friendly staff who are always smiling and welcoming. It’s a place that feels peaceful and special. The only downside was the behavior of some guests. Very early in the morning, nearly all of the loungers around the otherwise empty beachside pools were “reserved” with towels, making it impossible for others to find a spot later in the day. The hotel itself is fantastic, but it’s a shame that some guests don’t respect the spirit of sharing such a lovely space.
"Nice RESORT. Well mantained. Friendly stuff. But..Many critical points..the exhaust of traffic close to the street is massive w"
The resort itself is attractive, but there are several recurring issues that make stays less enjoyable. The beach is very small, and most guests end up in rooms facing the street. Despite reception always claiming the hotel is “fully booked,” in my four stays over two years, actual occupancy has never seemed higher than 50%. Requests for rooms in the inner buildings are consistently denied, as these appear to be reserved for Bangkok Airways crews. The result is heavy traffic noise and exhaust fumes—when there’s no wind, sitting on the balcony can quickly lead to a headache. Breakfast is another area that needs improvement. The fruit selection is the same four options year-round, and the same three bland cheeses never change. On the positive side, there are five good coffee machines, plain yogurt, excellent Thai soup, good egg dishes, quality Danish pastries, and nice bread. The resort does have great swimming pools, perfect for swimming laps, and the staff are always friendly. However, the beach seating is poorly designed—not adjustable—and extremely hot during the day, making it uncomfortable to relax there. Overall, while the resort has strengths, the repeated issues with room allocation, limited variety at breakfast, and uncomfortable beach facilities are disappointing, especially for repeat guests.
"Magnificent hotel with empty but inaccessible deckchairs"
Magnificent hotel located right on the beach in Bophut, within walking distance of Fisherman’s Village. The property offers every comfort: very spacious rooms, attentive staff, and a varied breakfast with fresh, high-quality products. The swimming pools are beautiful, but unfortunately, finding a deckchair is nearly impossible. Although the pools and loungers remain empty for hours, many are “reserved” early in the morning with towels and personal belongings. This makes it frustrating for guests who actually want to swim and relax, as all the spots are taken despite no one using them. A wonderful hotel overall, but the pool and deckchair situation really takes away from the experience.
"Two-class society – disappointing!"
This hotel is divided into two sections: an old part and a new part. The old part feels like stepping back into Spanish hotels from the 80s and 90s, yet the hotel advertises itself almost exclusively with images of the modern new wing. This creates a misleading impression and a clear “two-class” system within the property. While the new infinity pool looks great, the two older pools are dated, and there are very few loungers available on the beach. The entire atmosphere is let down further by staff who seem bored and uninterested, lacking the warmth and energy you would expect at this price point. Speaking of prices, drinks are significantly above average and feel disproportionate to the quality and service offered. Breakfast is acceptable but nothing special.
"Great Muay Thai Training"
We joined a Muay Thai session with Coach Pinto at the hotel and had an incredible experience. He is professional, motivating, and creates a fun training environment that’s suitable for all fitness levels. The session was energetic, engaging, and a unique addition to our stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking to try something different and memorable while at the hotel!
"Nice hotel good position pleasant staff"
We stayed here as a couple and found the hotel to be lovely and very clean. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options to suit all nationalities, and we enjoyed it every day. The gym was fantastic — well-equipped with free weights, good machines, and strong air-conditioning, which made workouts very comfortable. We didn’t eat at the hotel outside of breakfast as we found the prices quite high, but there are plenty of great local restaurants nearby. Fisherman’s Village is only a 10-minute walk and offers lots of choice, and we also appreciated the free hotel shuttle to Chaweng one evening. The main drawbacks were the struggle to find sunbeds — by 6:30 a.m. most were already “reserved” with towels, which was frustrating. It would be nice if the hotel added bean bags on the beach like some neighboring resorts. Also, we never saw any hand soap in the rooms or public restrooms, not even sanitiser, which didn’t feel very hygienic.
