"Creative Dining Experience with Excellent Service"
I had a great experience here — the service was outstanding, the drinks were thoughtfully crafted, and the tasting menu offered a truly interesting journey. While I enjoyed some dishes more than others, I appreciated the creativity and the way each plate reflected elements of Khmer heritage. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience and one I would definitely recommend.
"Flavorful Dining with a Minor Miss"
For me, the flavors really hit the mark and created a memorable dining experience. If anything, I felt the menu could have included a bit more animal protein, but overall the dishes were well-balanced and enjoyable. The only miss of the evening was the cocktail — I ordered the ginger martini, and the flavors tasted muddled rather than the clean, crisp notes you’d expect from a martini. Still, it was a great night out and one I’d recommend.
"Fabulous Meal with Impeccable Service"
The meal was truly fabulous, and the service absolutely impeccable. We had heard that the set menu could take quite a while, so we arrived right at opening at 6pm and were pleasantly surprised to finish by 8pm, leaving time to enjoy the river and explore the markets. The only downside was the Pomelo & Ginger Martini I ordered — it tasted overwhelmingly like straight vodka with little to no other flavor, and I couldn’t drink it. If not for that, this would have been a perfect 5-star experience.
"Lovely Dining Experience with a Creative Twist"
I really enjoyed both the food and the ambience — the overall dining experience was truly lovely. That said, I found the choice of serving frog and beef tongue on a tasting menu a bit too adventurous for the average palate. While I appreciate the chef’s creativity and willingness to push boundaries, I feel that a slightly more approachable selection could make the experience even more enjoyable for a wider audience.
"The Experience We Needed!"
The food was absolutely delicious, and I chose the vegetarian menu — truly a standout experience. Chefs in Europe could learn a thing or two from this, as the dishes used unexpected ingredients and delivered surprising, memorable flavors. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite! The service was attentive and professional, and considering the quality of both the food and service, the price felt very reasonable. A wonderful dining experience overall — highly recommended!
"Beautiful Restaurant, But Portions Left Me Wanting More"
The restaurant itself is beautiful, right in the heart of Siem Reap’s central town, and the dishes were executed well. However, I found the portions to be far too small for my preference. While I understand it is a tasting menu, I feel the team could consider slightly larger servings to leave guests more satisfied. At $55 USD per meal, I came with high expectations of both quality and feeling well-fed. Unfortunately, after finishing the menu, I found myself heading to the night market for street food to fill the gap.
"A Disappointing Experience Despite a Warm Welcome"
I came into this restaurant with very high hopes, but unfortunately the evening fell far short of expectations. To start with the positives: the welcome was genuinely warm, and the explanation of the menu at the beginning was well presented, which initially gave me confidence in the experience. However, things began to decline quickly. We ordered three cocktails, and all were underwhelming—one was overpoweringly strong (a ginger vodka-based drink), while the mojito and Collins lacked any real depth of flavor. The first few food courses showed promise. The seafood starter was pleasant, and the pork, mackerel, and beef tongue dishes were flavorful and well-balanced—the highlights of the evening. Sadly, the mains were a major letdown. The jungle curry was so overwhelmingly lime-heavy that it became almost inedible, while the pan-fried quail and dumplings were tough, flavorless, and poorly executed. Desserts were similarly uneven. The first one was enjoyable, but the churros were pale, bland, and paired with an unappealing fudge. Even the fruit course felt like an afterthought, dominated by sour fruit and an odd sweet-spicy salt. Service, though friendly, also fell short of what I would expect at this price point. Courses were served while one guest was away from the table, the pacing felt rushed, sparkling water was not chilled, and details like placemats and coasters were overlooked. In summary, while there were glimpses of potential, the overall experience—from cocktails to mains to service—was deeply disappointing. With restaurants like Embassy setting a much higher bar in Siem Reap, I cannot recommend this one until significant improvements are made.
"Great Value and Modern Take on Local Cuisine"
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The tasting menu was fantastic and offered a creative modern twist on traditional local dishes, which I thoroughly enjoyed. For me, the taste was a solid 7/10, with excellent value for money at 9/10, and the ambience at 7/10. While it may not be a place I’d return to regularly, I would definitely come back if my schedule allows. As a tourist, it felt like a great way to enjoy authentic flavors with a refreshing, contemporary touch.
"Disappointed by Missed Opportunity Despite Kind Gesture"
I traveled more than an hour to reach this restaurant based on recommendations, but unfortunately, due to a rainstorm, I arrived just ten minutes after the kitchen had closed. The staff did offer me a complimentary drink, which I truly appreciated, and I’m grateful to the kind lady at the front desk for that gesture. Still, I couldn’t help but feel disappointed—after such a long journey in the pouring rain, arriving soaked and hungry, it would have been wonderful if even a small snack or something left over could have been offered, especially as many guests were still dining. It wasn’t quite the Khmer warmth I had expected; instead, it felt more like the formality of French hospitality.
"Delicious Vegetarian Tasting Menu with a Few Service Hiccups"
We tried the vegetarian tasting menu and thoroughly enjoyed it—especially the sour yellow curry, mushroom curry, and the desserts. The flavors were creative and well-balanced. Service, however, felt a bit underwhelming. Although we had booked in advance and requested a table in the air-conditioned section, we were told none were available at first, only to be moved there halfway through the meal. Our server also wasn’t very clear when describing the dishes, though thankfully the menu helped us follow along. Despite these small drawbacks, the overall experience was lovely, and the restaurant’s decor is stunning. Tip: if you prefer dining in comfort, be sure to ask for the air-conditioned section.
