"Good but beware of the cost of the water"

The food and service at the restaurant were very good. However, we were surprised by the charge for sparkling water. When asked if we wanted still or sparkling, we chose sparkling and had two glasses. On receiving the bill, we were charged $12 per glass, totaling $24. When we inquired, we were told this included unlimited water, but this was not explained beforehand. While the food and service were enjoyable, the lack of upfront information about such an expensive charge made the experience feel less transparent.

"Torissi is Worthy of the Rave Reviews"

Located in the beautifully renovated Puck Building, Torrisi offers a warm, spacious, and inviting atmosphere with a fantastic open kitchen. Having previously visited Lobster Club and The Grill, we were eager to try Torrisi—and have already returned twice. While reservations can be hard to secure, it is well worth the effort. The service is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. The food is creative yet approachable, and every dish we tried was executed beautifully. Highlights include the flavorful tuna with eggplant relish, the bright fennel and grapefruit salad, the Cantonese-inspired lobster pasta, and the prawn-filled raviolini. The beef and broccoli was delicious, and the duck breast perfectly crisp with a delectable sauce. Sautéed greens made a perfect side. Between the terrific ambiance, professional and friendly staff, and consistently outstanding cuisine, Torrisi lives up to its hype and rave reviews—an experience you’ll want to repeat.

"Where Old School Little Italy Meets Modern Manhattan Flex"

Imagine if your Italian nonna went to culinary school, earned three Michelin stars, and decided to show off every skill she had. The spicy rigatoni vodka will bring tears to angels, the duck is so good it would haunt Donald Duck’s dreams, and their mozzarella belongs in a museum. Even the bread course is unforgettable—rich with olive oil that leaves a lasting impression. The staff combine the precision of a Roman army with the warmth of a Sunday family dinner, perfectly balancing fine dining and personal connection. Expect a tasting menu around $245 per person, with à la carte items that will make your accountant sweat. Is it worth it? Absolutely—if you’re ready to experience food that will forever change your expectations of Italian cuisine. You’re paying for: masterful technique that would make any nonna proud, ingredients sourced with utmost care, service smoother than aged grappa, and the bragging rights that come with scoring a coveted reservation.

"Delicious food. Outstanding service. Great ambience."

I was a bit skeptical after reading some of the negative reviews, but our experience at Torrisi was absolutely outstanding. The service was impeccable—attentive, professional, and friendly throughout. Every course we tried was delicious. The cucumber salad was a refreshing and excellent starter, as was the endive salad. For the main course, the chicken stood out as our favorite, perfectly cooked and flavorful. To finish, the Affogato dessert was simply amazing. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience, and I would highly recommend Torrisi to anyone looking for exceptional food and service in New York.

"Great new italian restaurant"

This new Italian spot in NYC is a tough one to get into, but worth the effort. We brought our kids for a lunch reservation, and the waitstaff were incredibly accommodating and friendly. While some of the hype didn’t fully deliver—the Italian and American hams with zeppole fell short of their Instagram/TikTok fame, and the Octopus Nha Trang was overcooked and pricey—the pasta dishes truly shined. The Cavatelli with Jamaican beef ragu was exceptional, unlike anything I’ve had elsewhere, and the penne with chanterelles was also delightful. The complimentary rainbow cookies were a nostalgic touch that brought back childhood memories. Would love to return if we can secure a reservation!

"Interesting, Modern and Delicious"

We managed a last-minute 2 PM reservation (yes, it’s possible!) and were immediately impressed. The building, bar, and overall setting feel like classic New York revitalized with a modern touch, and the open kitchen adds a lively, exciting buzz. The staff were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. For starters, the cucumber, American ham with zeppole, and endive salad were all creative, flavorful, and unlike anything we’d tried before—exactly what makes Torrisi stand out in NYC’s competitive dining scene. They even had a board with additional lunch items not on the menu, giving more variety than expected, and likely changing often. For mains, we ordered the tortellini and the cavatelli with Jamaican beef ragu. The cavatelli stole the show with its intriguing spiciness and rich flavor. Dessert wasn’t necessary after such a filling meal, but we couldn’t resist the affogato—it was excellent and a perfect end to a remarkable lunch. Highly recommend this spot for its inventive dishes, warm service, and vibrant atmosphere. We’ll definitely bring friends next time!

"Delicious…pricey…"

Torrisi is a delightful restaurant, and we were thrilled to secure a reservation. The space is beautiful, though quite lively and loud. Our server, though new, was excellent and charming. The food was very impressive, with standout dishes like the cavatelli ragu and bass dogana. Cocktails were well-crafted, and the wine selection was enjoyable—though $39 per pour was steep. Portions are on the smaller side, but overall, it was a very good dining experience.

"Spectacular dinner, just as good as Carbone"

We were thrilled to secure a Friday dinner reservation at Torrisi, even with a late 10 PM seating. Every moment was worth it—the ambience was inviting, and the food absolutely delivered. Highlights included the prosciutto with zeppole, the refreshing cucumber salad, and the perfectly cooked chicken. The tortellini pomodoro was a standout—creamy, pillowy, and truly living up to the hype. Dessert was unforgettable: the affogato was indulgent and perfectly executed. The staff went above and beyond to help us celebrate our belated anniversary, making the evening even more special. We hope to return soon, though reservations will be a challenge!

"Hyped but unworthy"

Our experience at this highly touted restaurant was very disappointing. Despite the hype, both the food and service fell short. We ended up sending back drinks and canceling dishes, and the wine list was uneven. The manager’s response—questioning why we canceled dishes and comping only water—did little to improve the situation. This feels like a restaurant riding TikTok hype rather than focusing on quality food and attentive service. Overall, not worth the effort to get a reservation.

"10 out of 10!"

Our experience at Torrisi exceeded every expectation and lived up to far more than the hype. From the moment we walked in, it was clear we were in for a special evening. The hostess was fantastic, even seating us a little earlier than our scheduled time. At the standup bar, we met other guests and enjoyed some of the best cocktails in the city. The dining room itself is stunning, setting the perfect tone for the evening. The food absolutely blew us away. We began with the Italian hams with zeppole—seemingly simple, but truly exceptional. For our main courses, we shared three pasta dishes: Tortellini Pomodoro, Cavatelli with Jamaican Beef Ragu, and Penne with Chanterelles—all outstanding. The Pomodoro, while simple, may be one of the best pasta dishes you’ll ever have. We finished with the chicken, which was phenomenal—a tip we gratefully received from a fellow diner at the bar. Every aspect, from the service to the ambiance to the food, was a “wow.” Having visited many of NYC’s hotspots, including Don Angie, Rezdora, and Monkey Bar, nothing compares to Torrisi. A truly unforgettable night!
