"Good hearty pasta place"
"Delicious pasta and a thoughtfully curated selection of wines. While the pasta portions are on the smaller side, ordering a few extra dishes doesn’t feel overly expensive. Highlights for me were the creamy mozzarella di bufala, the rich duck ragu, and the perfectly cooked sirloin steak."
"My Fav Italian"
This is one of my absolute favorite Italian restaurants in New York! As a foodie who knows Italian cuisine well from travels in Italy, I can confidently say this place delivers every single time. This was my fifth visit, and it’s one of the few spots where I can close my eyes and trust that whatever I order will be perfect. I celebrated my birthday here, and the staff went above and beyond by signing a card, which made the evening even more special. Card or not, this restaurant consistently impresses, and I rave about it to anyone visiting NYC—a rare endorsement coming from me.
"Nothing special"
Not a bad place by any means, but nothing particularly special either. The pomodoro pasta with cheese was very nice, but the meat-filled pasta was just okay. Even the baked bread fell a little flat. Overall, a decent meal, but not something I’d rush back for.
"Disappointing"
When Rezdora first opened, we were blown away by the experience. Unfortunately, this time was very different. Nearly every dish we ordered (4 out of 5) was overwhelmingly salty and lacked the balance and finesse we had remembered. Only one stood out as enjoyable. Overall, the flavors felt overstated and unmemorable. It’s hard not to feel like the A-team’s attention has shifted to their new restaurant, leaving this one behind.
"Tasty, but Pricey – Great Service!"
We had an early dinner and managed to get a table without a reservation. The highlight of the night was when we told our server that one of us was vegan and the other vegetarian—“We’ve never had a vegan before!” they said. Hard to believe in NYC, but they were very accommodating, working with the chef to ensure we both had something delicious to eat. That said, the prices are on the higher side, and the portions feel more like samples than full meals. The ravioli was incredible, but there was only one! To leave satisfied, you’d likely need to order half the menu.
"Cold hospitality"
The name Rezdora, meaning “grandmother” in the Emilia dialect, suggests warmth and hospitality, but unfortunately that spirit was missing. Upon arrival, we were left standing in the cold by the host since our guest hadn’t arrived yet, even though most of the tables were empty. Not only did this make us feel unwelcome, but the restaurant also lost sales—we would have gladly ordered cocktails and a plate of ham while waiting. When it came to the food, portions were shockingly small for the price. The pasta at $29 could not have been more than 40–50 grams, and the gnocco fritto came with a single, paper-thin slice of ham or mortadella. The flavors were decent, but nothing memorable. Hospitality is about more than just taste—it’s about the whole experience, and sadly, that was what was truly missing here.
"Lovely Italian food."
We really enjoyed the food at this restaurant. It reminded us more of good Italian restaurants back in the UK—without a Michelin star—though still very nice. The only downside was noticing how many diners in NYC spend a lot of time on their phones during meals, which took away slightly from the atmosphere.
"Disappointed"
I came here wanting to treat myself to Michelin-starred pasta. Service was impeccable and the wine list was impressive, but the food didn’t live up to the hype. One dish even arrived lukewarm, and overall the flavors weren’t as consistent or exceptional as expected. Sorely disappointed—wish I had skipped it and gone elsewhere.
"5 Stars"
Eat all the focaccia, try every pasta, and don’t skip the tiramisu. This place is exceptional—from the warm, attentive service to the outstanding food. The only small drawback was the coolers blocking the view from the back window (not that there’s much to see, but still). Otherwise, a fantastic experience all around.
"Dinner Can Be Delicious and Terrible at The Same Time"
The food is truly delicious. Everything is fresh and made to order. The prices are a bit high for pasta but you can't beat the quality. We will never go back. After reserving a fair amount of time in advance we were seated in the bar area. This is not a gigantic space and we would not have minded being seated there except the loud music blaring in our ears from speakers every few inches above our heads made it impossible to hear anything: the descriptions of the dishes and each other. It was, to quote Christopher Guest in This is Spinal Tap, an 11. It was at the level of a dance club. We complained and it was lowered--barely. We looked enviously at the diners in a separate, far more quiet room in the back. We didn't know about that option. Where we were seated felt like it was reserved for walk-ins. Beyond upsetting. If you go, request that back room. Or save your eardrums and eat elsewhere.
"Fabulous Northern Italian cuisine"
Rezdora is setting the standard for Northern Italian cuisine in Flatiron, especially when it comes to pasta. Chef Stefano Secchi, who trained under some of Italy’s finest chefs including Massimo Bottura, delivers dishes that are both authentic and elevated. Vegetarians will find plenty of excellent options, with the Gnocco Fritto standing out as a signature appetizer. The pastas are wonderful—though portions lean small—and the tiramisu is truly special. Service and hospitality are warm, approachable, and never pretentious. Getting a reservation can be tough, but here’s a tip: ask if bar seats are available. Rezdora is well worth the effort.
"Good food, regular bar, superb service;"
This Italian restaurant offers amazing service and a clear attention to detail. The staff is fantastic, and the overall atmosphere feels elevated. The food is good, with prices on the higher side (very typical for New York). Portions, however, are quite small — so don’t expect a traditional, hearty Italian meal here. The wine cellar is impressive but pricey, making it a good place if you’re looking to enjoy a special bottle alongside a light bite. Highly recommend trying Grandma’s Pasta and the Parmesan appetizer. One downside: the cocktail list is limited. I ordered three classics, and none could be made — for a New York spot, that’s disappointing. Despite this, we always find ourselves coming back for the service, quality, and experience.
