"Great Dining Experience for a Reasonable Price"
My wife and I had Saturday lunch here and it was fantastic. The service was attentive and friendly, and the food was even better. I ordered the skirt steak with potatoes and greens and enjoyed every bite. The atmosphere was casual and welcoming, and the staff made us feel well taken care of. As a special touch, we even received a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. Portions were generous and well worth the cost compared to other restaurants we visited. A truly enjoyable dining experience!
"Save your Money and find real italian food!"
The wine was just okay, but at $80 it felt overpriced. The rabbit pasta was enjoyable, though honestly it could have been made with chicken thighs for far less. Service was decent, but my wife’s $44 “ribeye” was a real letdown—the waitress recommended it, yet it tasted more like a poor-quality hanger steak. It wasn’t cooked medium-rare as requested, the cut was tough, and no sides came with it. Our starter was also under-seasoned. Overall, it seems this restaurant is cutting corners to cover high rent. Definitely not worth the price—skip this place.
"PERFECTION"
My family and I visited for Christmas, and this was our very first meal in New York! While the prices initially seemed a little high, the generous portions more than justified it. Service was outstanding—our waiter was friendly, attentive, and happy to recommend dishes and drinks. My partner ordered a Negroni and declared it one of the best he’s ever had. For food, we shared the caramelized onion tart, focaccia, whole trout, potatoes, rigatoni pasta in a creamy sauce, and braised lamb. It was the perfect amount for four people, and every single dish was phenomenal—beautifully prepared and served quickly. We couldn’t fault a thing, and if I return to New York, I’ll 100% be visiting again!
"Not worth it ."
The food was mediocre and nothing particularly exciting. The bigger issue, though, is the noise—this was easily the loudest restaurant I’ve ever been to. With such a large space packed with people, the ambiance was overwhelming and unpleasant. Unfortunately, it made the overall dining experience quite disappointing.
"Another wonderful USHG experience!"
My family and I had an awesome dining experience here last week. Our son Lonny works at the restaurant and extended us a very generous employee discount, but discount or not, we would have made it here sooner or later—we’ve long been fans of this restaurant group. Union Square Café has been one of our favorites since it first opened decades ago (we even celebrated my wife’s 60th birthday there in a private party, which was wonderful). At this location, the service, food, and wine list were all exceptional. As usual, we ordered too much—but enjoyed every morsel. We’ll definitely be back!
"This is a very lovely place"
The restaurant is a bit tricky to find—it's just half a block west of Moynihan Train Hall. We were able to secure a wide range of reservation times even just a day ahead, which is especially convenient during the Super Bowl. The $35 per person cancellation fee felt a bit steep if plans change. Service, however, was excellent, reflecting the high standard associated with Danny Meyer. The menu had its highs and lows: the onion torte was disappointing, while the roast carrots and green salad were excellent. Be aware that dinner for four, without alcohol or meat/fish entrees, ran well over $200 before tip.
"Pleasant space with ok food"
Attractive atmosphere, though quite loud. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. We shared two appetizers and a pasta: the onion tart was good, but the seafood salad was overpowered by chili, and the tomato tagliatelle was too spicy from crushed red pepper, which made it hard to enjoy.
"Very good food, excellent service, but super loud. A few tips…"
Ci Siamo is a very popular restaurant, but it can be tricky to locate. According to their website, it’s in The Manhattan West Plaza, between 9th and 10th Avenue and 31st and 33rd Street, just a block from Penn Station. We took the C line subway. Finding the restaurant inside the development is a bit of a challenge—you’ll likely need to ask for directions. There’s only a small sign with the name, so plan extra time to locate it. The space is very loud, so keep that in mind when choosing seating. Dress is casual; we went business casual, but there were guests in gym shorts, T-shirts, and baseball caps. For those with limited vision, some areas can be tricky: the upstairs entry isn’t well marked, though there is an elevator. The restrooms are dark and the locks can be hard to see. The sink water is controlled by a fixture that looks like a soap dispenser. As for the food, everything we tried—braised beans, scallop appetizer, ravioli, and the lemon tart—was excellent. Service was superb throughout the evening.
"Incredible Restaurant"
OMG, this place is amazing! The eggplant appetizer was hands down the best I’ve ever had, and I absolutely LOVE eggplant. The spaghetti entrée was fabulous, and the focaccia with tomato-pepper tapenade was incredible. Our servers, Nick and Deana, were kind, attentive, and wonderful. The restaurant itself is beautiful and comfortable. Now I understand why it’s considered one of the best in NYC!
"Very nice !"
Beautifully decorated restaurant with lovely tables and attentive service. The food is very nice, though on the pricey side, as is typical for NYC. The wine list is extremely expensive, with very few options at the lower end of the spectrum.
"Worth a visit!"
Food and service were excellent! The Gnocchi Frito and Onion Torta are must-tries. On a nice day, be sure to book the outdoor terrace. Can’t wait to visit again for another great meal!
"Oprah and Gayle were here!"
This restaurant is enormous, with several hundred seats. Take the elevator up from the plaza level to the second-floor dining room—fun fact: there’s wine in the elevator! We tried the onion torta and roasted carrot starters, both of which were really good. My wife enjoyed her orata, but I was less impressed with my pork Milanese—the breading was overly crunchy and the only accompaniment was a bowl of aioli, which felt uninspired. Overall, I think a small family-run Italian spot offers a more satisfying experience than this Danny Meyer megarestaurant.
"Outstanding Restaurant. Great Choice for Those with a Gluten Allergy if Wanting Upscale Italian"
Outstanding experience at this stylish restaurant offering upscale Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. The service was impeccable, and the food was of the highest quality. The wine list is excellent, and the dining room exudes understated elegance with an energetic atmosphere. The restaurant does a fantastic job accommodating food allergies, making it an ideal choice for those with gluten sensitivities.
"Excellent restaurant with special dishes"
A trendy new spot in Hudson Yards, this restaurant looks great and is always buzzing with activity. The semi-open kitchen adds to the lively atmosphere, though it can get quite noisy—conversation at the table takes some effort. The dishes are inventive, flavorful, and perfect for sharing, making it a fun shared-dining experience. Highly recommended!
"A must visit"
First things first: Ci Siamo is in Manhattan West, not Hudson Yards—let’s get that right. Fantastic food, excellent service, and a prime location make it a top choice. The staff is smart, friendly, and attentive, and the kitchen team truly knows the art of cooking. Enjoy Ci Siamo for a real night out—you won’t be disappointed.
