"The worst restaurant on the street"

At first, we were told there were no tables available inside, so we had to dine outdoors. That alone wasn’t a problem, but watching other guests arrive later and be seated inside left a sour impression. Our meals were served quickly but arrived noticeably cold and far less flavorful than what we’d enjoyed at other nearby restaurants. The servers seemed rushed and didn’t take the time to explain the dishes, possibly due to a language barrier — something we hadn’t encountered elsewhere in Paris. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. For better food and friendlier service, I’d suggest visiting one of the other restaurants along the same street.

"Lunch Wonderbox"

Hi Kate, We had a truly delightful dining experience — from the warm welcome to the delicious starter, main course, and dessert, all complemented by a lovely glass of wine. The service was quick, professional, and discreet, and the soft background music created a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. A few small drawbacks: Table No. 31 was slightly wobbly, the stainless steel knife didn’t cut the meat very well (a proper steak knife would have been ideal), and our glasses of Brouilly and Chardonnay were served without showing the bottle label. Despite these minor details, I highly recommend this restaurant for its excellent food, ambiance, and attentive service.

"Good cuisine but Welcoming and Service to review"

The food was of good quality, and the dishes were well-prepared, though the portions were a bit small. Unfortunately, two of the six courses arrived cold, and when we asked for them to be reheated, the waiter seemed visibly annoyed. The overall atmosphere wasn’t very welcoming, with staff appearing cold and not particularly friendly. To make matters worse, a questionable, borderline sexist joke left a poor impression. A shame, as the food itself deserved better service.

"Butter, escargot and soup d oignon"

This historic venue perfectly embodies Parisian elegance — beautifully confusing, warm, and full of character. The moment you step inside, you’re enveloped by the irresistible aroma of butter and roasted meats. Waiters gracefully weave between tables carrying escargot, creamy mashed potatoes, and tender pork dishes. But the true magic begins with the soupe à l’oignon — its golden gratin and soft, flavorful onions make it an absolute must-order. To end the meal on a delightful note, a charming little meringue piglet arrives with the bill, a whimsical touch to a truly unforgettable Parisian dining experience.

"Busy, expensive but also not perfect"

This has long been my favorite restaurant, and even on a busy Saturday evening, the lively atmosphere and expected queue didn’t bother me. However, while I understand the premium pricing, one dish — the Scottish salmon — was truly disappointing. It was an inferior cut, undercooked, and mostly fat and skin. I sincerely hope this was just an off night and not a sign of declining standards, as I’ve always loved dining here.

"Always nice"

It’s always a pleasure to enjoy traditional provincial dishes so well prepared. The space may be a bit tight, but the large tables are thoughtfully arranged by the maître d’, so there’s no feeling of crowding — and after all, this is Paris! A charming spot that perfectly blends authenticity, warmth, and a touch of Parisian bustle.

"Experience food and ratatouille included"

Hello, We visited this typical French restaurant located in the center of Paris, near the Louvre and Châtelet–Les Halles station. The food was delicious — we truly enjoyed everything we ordered. Prices are on the higher side, so it’s worth checking carefully. They offer a menu accessible via a QR code in several languages, including Spanish, which is very convenient. However, towards the end of our meal, while having coffee, we saw a mouse walking near the neighboring tables. We were on the top floor, so the kitchen must be below, but it was still quite shocking. The waitress, who was very kind, joked that it was “Ratatouille,” which made the children smile, but the manager never came to apologize. Because of that unpleasant incident, despite the good food, we wouldn’t return.

"good food- bad service"

The restaurant was completely packed, with tables for two so tightly arranged that it was nearly impossible to move. Each time one of us needed to leave, the other had to stand up and shift the table, repeating the same routine to return to our seats. Unfortunately, the staff offered no assistance and were rarely seen in the dining area. The saving grace of the evening was the food — everything we ordered was quite delicious, which made up, at least partially, for the otherwise uncomfortable experience.

"Excellent surprise"

As a Parisian for over four decades, I had never found the occasion to visit Au Pied de Cochon. After reading several negative reviews, I expected a classic “tourist trap.” Instead, I was pleasantly surprised at every turn. The welcome was warm and efficient, even though I arrived early. Service was impeccable — kind, well-paced, and genuinely attentive. My guest received excellent advice on oysters, and our dishes were generous and delicious, with a special mention for the exceptional roasted pineapple. Although our table was booked from 8 to 9 p.m., we were never rushed; we stayed as long as we wished without any sign of impatience — true hospitality! From the moment we stepped into this legendary restaurant until we left, everything was perfect, even down to the thoughtful gesture of a team member offering my guest a light. A big thank you to the entire staff — I’ll gladly return!

"Good food & service. A little pricey."

Whenever we visit France, we always make it a point to meet our Parisian friends, who love introducing us to new restaurants. This time, while on a trip to Disney, we took the RER into Châtelet for dinner. The food was very good, and the service matched the quality. Though a bit on the pricey side, everything we ordered was delicious — I had egg mayonnaise, sea bass, and a waffle, all well-prepared, while my wife enjoyed French onion soup, sea bass, and profiteroles. Overall, a pleasant evening and a restaurant we’d happily recommend.
