"Great experience"

We stayed here for a week-long trip to Rome in August 2025 and couldn’t have been happier with our choice. The hotel’s location is unbeatable—right on St. Peter’s Square, just a short walk to the Vatican Museum and Castel Sant’Angelo, with central Rome easily accessible. The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming, making us feel at ease from the moment we arrived. A special mention goes to the lady at the terrace bar, whose attentiveness and knowledge made her a highlight of our holiday. The terrace itself is a perfect spot to relax with a drink after a day of sightseeing. The rooms are on the smaller side and some features could use updating, but these minor issues are far outweighed by the positives. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again.

"Great staff!"

We had a very good experience at this hotel. Everyone on staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. The room was comfortable, and the breakfast offered a great start to the day. The location was highly convenient, making it easy to explore the city.

"Not coming back hotel"

The main advantage of this hotel is its proximity to the Vatican. Unfortunately, the reality fell short of expectations: the room did not match the pictures, breakfast was average and nearly depleted before the advertised closing time of 7 AM, and the terrace was occupied by an event, limiting guest use. While the staff was friendly and service was good, the overall experience didn’t justify the price. Guests may find better options within a 500-meter radius.

"An unforgettable stay exactly a stone throw away the Vatican.."

I stayed here for three nights during the Jubilee and was immediately impressed by the hotel’s incredible proximity to St. Peter’s Basilica — you can even see the façade from the terrace! The staff, from reception to housekeeping, were welcoming and attentive throughout my stay. Breakfast was very good, especially the hot beverages and selection of sweets. I rated this hotel 4/5 rather than full marks because the room I stayed in (102) needed some minor TLC, though it was always clean and toiletries were replenished daily. The complimentary bottled water (one still, one sparkling) was a nice touch, though I missed having in-room tea or coffee facilities. Overall, I highly recommend Residenza Paolo VI, and I will certainly consider staying here again when visiting the Vatican. Arrivederci!

"Close to the Vatican & great Service"

We had a very enjoyable stay, and upgrading to a room with views of the Vatican and St. Peter’s Square was absolutely worth it. The service throughout our visit was excellent, particularly the lady who attended to us at breakfast—her personalized attention truly stood out. The breakfast selection was good, and even dining on the terrace overlooking the Vatican was a memorable experience. The food, especially the carbonara, was delicious. Overall, it was a fantastic stay and highly recommended.

"Great location"

This hotel is ideally located right in front of the Vatican — if you’re lucky, you might even see the Pope from your window! The food was tasty, the service was excellent, and it’s easy to access various parts of the city from here. The only minor drawback was that it took a while to get from the airport to the hotel, but the stay was absolutely worth it.

"Must stay if Vatican is your ultimate spot"

The hotel’s location is unbeatable—just steps from St. Peter’s Square. Security is thorough and reassuring, requiring passage through a security checkpoint before entry. The staff were very helpful, and breakfast was excellent, both in terms of food and service. Special thanks to the restaurant staff who went out of their way to provide exceptional service to my teenage son. A highlight is the terrace, which offers a view of the Papal audience without the crowds in the square. The room was small, as expected, but overall it was a wonderful stay.

"My view."

This hotel is arguably one of the best positioned for a visit to the Holy City — literally on the doorstep of the Vatican. The property is spotlessly clean, thanks to the wonderful housekeeping staff. We booked the cheapest room, and it delivered exactly what we expected: a very basic room with a small double bed, positioned close to the wall, making it a bit cramped. There was no bedside table, no iron, and no kettle or coffee machine, which makes the room extremely simple and somewhat claustrophobic. The bathroom was lovely, with plenty of hot water. Breakfast is included, excellent, and served by a very kind and attentive lady. The restaurant and bar staff were also professional and welcoming. However, the reception experience was cold and lacking in hospitality — no greeting on arrival, no offer to call a taxi on departure, and no pleasantries. Overall, you get what you pay for, but these small rooms are definitely not comparable to a 4- or 5-star standard.

"An unforgettable dinner under the eyes of Saint Peter"

The roof garden bar at Residence Paul VI is the epitome of luxury. Offering unparalleled views of Rome, dining over St. Peter’s Basilica and its majestic dome creates a truly unique experience. I enjoyed a Bolognese lasagne that ranks among the best I’ve ever tasted, paired with a glass of white wine while quietly taking in the serene beauty of St. Peter. The service was flawless—friendly, attentive, and impeccably professional. An evening I will never forget.

"Great stay at Residenza!"

We recently stayed at Residenza Paolo VI and had an amazing experience. The rooms are small but very clean and perfectly suited for our needs. The highlight was the rooftop terrace, offering a stunning view of St. Peter’s Basilica — truly unforgettable. We dined at the hotel twice, and the food was good each time. The staff made our stay exceptional: Francesca was professional, attentive, and incredibly helpful, even preparing a takeaway breakfast bag for our early check-out. Giulia at breakfast was also lovely, ensuring a hot and cold buffet that, while not extensive, had everything needed to start the day. The hotel’s location is ideal for visiting the Vatican, and the attentive, friendly staff really made the difference. We will definitely return.
