"Outstanding Stay at Hotel de la Ville, Rome"
We visited Rome during the week of October 20th, 2025, and stayed at Hotel de la Ville, perfectly located in the heart of the city. Our experience was exceptional from start to finish. The staff were warm, professional, and attentive, with a special mention to Signore Benedetto Colizzi, whose outstanding hospitality made our visit truly memorable. He provided excellent recommendations, arranged reservations at some of Rome’s best restaurants, and guided us to its most beautiful piazzas. Our Superior Room was spacious, immaculate, and elegantly furnished—a perfect retreat after exploring the Eternal City. We would gladly stay at Hotel de la Ville again and highly recommend it for its comfort, service, and unbeatable location.
"Exceeded every expectation"
We stayed at the Rocco Forte House for the week of Thanksgiving with four adults, and every aspect of our stay exceeded expectations. Arrival was seamless, and the concierge provided outstanding assistance, handling both major and minor requests gracefully and promptly. The apartment itself was flawless, and we hope to be lucky enough to visit again.
"Beautiful hotel in great location; just watch out for extra fee"
This hotel is ideally located near the top of the Spanish Steps. Our top-floor room featured a balcony with stunning views over the rooftops, including the dome of St. Peter’s. The room itself was very comfortable, with a nice bathroom, ample closet space, and sleek furnishings. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the courtyard and had excellent drinks at the Cielo Terrace Bar, complemented by light bites from the menu. Service was friendly and attentive throughout our stay. The only downside was the 5% “discretionary service appreciation” charge on our bill. It wasn’t listed on the website or confirmation email, nor mentioned at check-in or checkout. While we had seen this fee at the hotel’s Florence property before, the lack of transparency—combined with still tipping housekeeping and porters—left a less favorable impression of the Rocco Forte brand.
"Amazing stay but watch the steps"
We stayed at the hotel while attending a wedding in Rome, and many of us chose it because of our familiarity with their sister property, Hotel De Russie. It certainly lived up to our expectations. We recommend requesting a courtyard-facing room rather than a street-side one, as the garbage trucks start their shift at 6 AM, and despite good insulation, some noise can still be heard. Breakfast in the courtyard is lovely; while the buffet selection could be expanded, the à la carte menu offers plenty of additional choices. Overall, we had a fantastic experience. A note for potential guests: the location isn’t for the faint-hearted. Our fit family didn’t mind the climb up the Spanish Steps, but some friends found it quite challenging.
"A weekend dream"
An excellent hotel in a beautiful location, with fantastic, helpful, and highly professional staff. The breakfast is plentiful and offers options for all tastes, including those with dietary restrictions. The hotel offers lovely views of the Eternal City and is within walking distance of the Spanish Steps. Services and the spa are excellent, making for a truly memorable stay.
"Gorgeous place.."
A gorgeous hotel perched at the top of the Spanish Steps, with a smooth and attentive check-in experience. The room was very nice, though the toilet drain could use some attention. Breakfast offered delicious, seasonal fresh fruit, but the service could be more attentive and better coordinated.
"Unforgettable experience"
We stayed at this hotel today and couldn’t have chosen a better place. The location is simply wonderful—welcoming, relaxing, and perfect for enjoying every moment. The staff were fantastic from start to finish, extremely kind and attentive to every need. A special thanks to Valerio, whose professionalism and warmth made our experience even more enjoyable. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time and can’t wait to return. Highly recommended from every perspective!
"Italian Elegance!"
An elegant and gorgeous hotel in a superb location at the top of the Spanish Steps. The sophisticated and romantic rooftop bar offers terrific views of Rome, and breakfast on the 2nd-floor terrace, surrounded by blooming jasmine, was delightful with wonderful service. Our room was beautiful, featuring a huge bed with luxurious linens, a sitting area, and a marble bath and shower. The staff were very professional, and we recommend dressing smartly, as the property exudes classic Roman sophistication rather than a casual, “beachy” vibe. Two minor issues affected what would have been a perfect stay. Our room overlooked the courtyard, and while the first night was quiet, a boisterous wedding party kept us awake until after midnight the second night. Additionally, despite requesting an early check-in months in advance due to an early cruise arrival, we were told it was unavailable, while other guests who arrived later were accommodated sooner, resulting in a long wait. We will definitely try again when back in Rome and are grateful to all the staff who were kind and helpful during our stay.
"Very comfortable"
We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is in a fantastic location, and the staff were lovely throughout. Some of the outer terraces were closed at this time of year, but that didn’t detract from the experience. Breakfast was fabulous, and our room was very comfortable. There was a minor hiccup at check-in, as our room had been given to someone else. We were asked to wait in the bar while they found a room, but we weren’t informed when our room was ready, even though it was. Aside from that, everything else was delightful.

An unforgettable stay at a truly special hotel, where the service is incredibly dedicated, friendly, and professional while remaining approachable. The breakfast was outstanding, and every detail of the hotel reflects style and quality. The only downside is that bar prices are a bit on the high side.
