"Surprising, little hotel, in a great location, with a delicious breakfast"

Arriving by taxi from Rome Termini, I was initially skeptical as the hotel’s entrance is almost invisible, and the isolated road didn’t give much hope. However, once inside, the experience exceeded expectations. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, with a fantastic bathroom, and surprisingly quiet—something rare in Rome. The location is excellent, just steps from the Roman Forum. Breakfast was thoughtfully prepared, and the staff clearly cared about every detail. While slightly on the expensive side, the comfort, service, and prime location made it worth every euro.

"Excellent! Thanks to Adriano, Francesca, Giordano, staff for exceptional services"

We stayed at this hotel for four nights and were thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service. Adriano, Giordano, Francesca, and their entire team went above and beyond, providing warm, attentive, and highly personalized care. Breakfast is made to order, and even when I accidentally ordered two breakfasts one day, the staff handled it with a smile. Our room was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. On the day we had to leave early for Positano, the hotel thoughtfully prepared two breakfast bags for us to take on the road. This is truly one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in a major European city. Highly recommended!

"Great inn and location. NOT for anyone who has difficulty walking or uses a walker or wheelchair"

This hotel is wonderfully located right in the heart of everything, and the staff were extremely accommodating, addressing any needs immediately. The rooms were clean, and we particularly enjoyed the apartment on the other side of the inn, which offered more space, a kitchen, and a seating area—making our stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast had a great variety, though the seating is limited to high-back chairs for two at the main tables; the casual seating near the fireplace has low tables, which isn’t ideal for larger parties. Important note: this hotel is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. There is a steep cobblestone hill leading to the reception, which made it difficult for wheelchair users and even some Ubers refused to drive up. Only two people without a walker or wheelchair can fit in the elevator at a time. Despite these accessibility challenges, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the apartment for a more spacious experience.

"We love “The Inn at the Roman Forum”!!!"

This long-overdue review is a heartfelt recommendation for The Inn at the Roman Forum. As a travel advisor, I often have the information to select excellent hotels, and this one truly exceeded our expectations. Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood yet within walking distance of major attractions and great restaurants, it offers a peaceful retreat in the heart of Rome. Upon arrival, we were greeted with smiles, a pastry, and a refreshing drink. While waiting for our room, we explored the hotel’s on-site ruins—so serene that the short wait felt like part of the experience. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, even assisting us in weighing our bags before departure. Our fourth-floor room, cozy and well-appointed, opened onto a lovely garden with orange trees, and the bathroom was spacious with a large tub. Amenities were high-quality and replenished daily. Breakfast, included in our package, offered a delightful selection catering to both American and European tastes. While we didn’t have time to enjoy the evening terrace overlooking the Colosseum, it looked like a perfect spot to relax after a day of sightseeing. Navigating cobblestone streets is necessary to reach the hotel, but the warm, friendly atmosphere, cleanliness, and prime location make it more than worth it. This is truly one of Rome’s hidden gems and a personal favorite among the city’s great hotels. Highly recommended!

"Great find on quiet street near Trajan’s market"

The hotel was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming, with Ian standing out for his incredibly warm, professional, and attentive service—both at check-in and during the rooftop cocktail hour. Breakfast on the roof terrace was amazing, and the service there, especially from a wonderful staff member whose name I didn’t catch, made the experience even better. We were also impressed by the ancient ruins behind the front desk—truly remarkable. A memorable stay with top-notch hospitality!

"High recommendation for Inn at the Roman Forum"

The Inn at the Roman Forum is a peaceful retreat tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, yet only a 10-minute walk to the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Its location strikes the perfect balance—far enough from the crowds to enjoy calm surroundings, but close enough to grab food at nearby markets like Mercato Rionale Monti or dine near the Colosseum. Attractions like the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, and high-end shopping are about a mile away, roughly a 20-minute walk. We opted for the hotel’s private driver from FCO, which made navigating Rome’s busy streets and morning traffic much easier—definitely worth considering for first-time visitors or families. Staff throughout our stay were exceptional: welcoming, attentive, and fluent in English. They accommodated our two rooms with neighboring options and even upgraded one at no extra cost. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent, featuring a good variety of items and cappuccinos that our family members loved. The rooms and hotel were spotless, well-maintained, and comfortable, though the elevator is very small. Overall, the combination of location, attentive staff, and clean, comfortable rooms made a fantastic first impression. We would absolutely stay again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rome.

"This place is perfect for Roman History buffs!"

From the moment we checked in, we were treated to wine and snacks and even given a tour of the hotel’s attached catacombs—an experience you truly have to see to believe! The location is fantastic: just 10 minutes to Vittorio, the Colosseum, Circus Maximus, and Palatine Hill, and 15 minutes to the Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. The hotel has a quaint little bar and restaurant, though for lunch and dinner we recommend exploring nearby options. The only minor challenge is that taxis can have difficulty reaching the property due to ongoing construction and excavations. Overall, we absolutely loved this place and highly recommend it!

"Excellent"

We just returned from a fabulous stay at The Inn at the Roman Forum and would highly recommend it. The rooms were very nice, clean, and comfortable. The staff was truly exceptional, catering to every need—from helpful recommendations and arranging cabs to thoughtfully providing ice each evening for my recent knee replacement. Breakfast was excellent, and little touches like turn-down service with cookie treats highlighted the outstanding attention to detail. The location, tucked away on a quiet back street, added to the charm. A delightful surprise was a three-piece group that played music for a couple of hours on two nights—adding to the overall warm and welcoming atmosphere. This Inn truly goes above and beyond!
