"Experience at the hotel Forum Roma"
I stayed at this hotel with friends, and despite one of us facing a serious health issue, the staff provided exceptional care and attention. They went to great lengths to assist us and ensure the situation was managed as best as possible, showing remarkable kindness and dedication.
"Superb location for sight seeing."
The hotel boasts an excellent location, just a stone’s throw from the Colosseum—perfect for sightseeing. The rooms are a bit small and somewhat gloomy, though most guests don’t spend much time in them. Breakfast is good, and with plenty of nearby restaurants, dining in-house isn’t necessary. The staff are very helpful and attentive, enhancing the overall stay.
"Great little hotel close to everything"
Lovely hotel in a fantastic location—just a 10-minute walk to the Colosseum. The property is very clean and well-maintained, and the staff are welcoming and friendly. We stayed on a B&B basis and enjoyed eating at local restaurants, which allowed us to laugh, chat, and connect with locals, even when language was a bit of a barrier. Rome itself is unforgettable—the history, culture, shops, and the aroma of amazing food and perfumes make it a mind-blowing experience. I would 💯 recommend a trip to Rome!
"Beautiful hotel in excellent location"
This is a beautiful and elegant hotel in an excellent location—within walking distance of the main train station, the Metro for Vatican visits, and just down the road from the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Breakfast on the rooftop is brilliant, with good choices and attentive service. The room is a bit cramped but has a comfortable bed, nice view, and a good bathroom. Minor drawbacks include the use of paper cups for tea in the room and staff who are professional and polite but not particularly engaging. Plenty of great restaurants are nearby.
"Lovely hotel in great location."
Charming hotel in a fantastic location! The property is unique and full of character, and the staff are both helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a good-sized bathroom and a lovely shower. The rooftop restaurant is stunning, offering incredible views—perfect for drinks after busy days in the American Bar, where the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the bar staff are attentive. The only downside is that drinks are quite expensive, which keeps this from a full five stars. That said, I can’t imagine staying anywhere else when I return to Rome—truly a wonderful experience!
"Beautiful hotel in an excellent position"
We just returned from a 4-day stay at Forum Hotel in Rome. This beautiful, classical Italian hotel is very central—less than a 5-minute walk to the Colosseum and about 20 minutes to the Spanish Steps. The rooftop bar is stunning; in November it was easy to get a spot, though in summer reservations might be needed. The hotel is clean, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Many thanks to the entire team for making our stay so comfortable!
"Second time visitor"
We stayed here for the second time and loved it just as much! The hotel is very clean, with an older, classic design and decor. We were fortunate to secure a family-sized room, which was a real plus compared to other hotels. Breakfast on the rooftop restaurant was a highlight—such a lovely way to start a slow morning before exploring busy Rome. Everything was well prepared, and the service was excellent. The location is fantastic, within walking distance to the Colosseum and Forum, with metro stops close by. In the evenings, the rooftop bar is magical, with the ruins beautifully lit—truly memorable!
"The Hotel Forum, Rome"
I have been staying at the Forum Hotel in Rome for nearly 40 years, and it never disappoints. Housed in an 18th-century building in the heart of the historic center, it sits beside the Roman Forum and just minutes from the Colosseum. The décor is quietly elegant, with antique furniture, ruched curtains in the reception, and fascinating Roman fragments thoughtfully displayed throughout. The rooftop terrace restaurant is spectacular, offering breakfast or evening dining with panoramic views across the city. The rooms are immaculately maintained, featuring comfortable beds, elegant décor, parquet floors, and en suite bathrooms. What keeps me returning year after year is the consistent professionalism and courtesy of the staff—whether at reception, housekeeping, or in the restaurant. Their attention to detail is remarkable and makes every stay a true pleasure. I wholeheartedly recommend the Forum Hotel to anyone visiting Rome.
"Hotel in the Butterfly"
The hotel is in an unbeatable location—just a 3-minute walk to the Colosseum! Breakfast on the roof terrace or a drink at the American Bar atop the hotel is simply breathtaking, offering stunning views and a cool retreat from Rome’s heat. Service throughout the hotel is impeccable. The rooms are generally clean and elegant, though the single rooms in the basement are a bit tricky to navigate, with elevators and stairs forming a maze-like layout. If you avoid the basement rooms, the accommodations are comfortable and well-maintained, offering a high standard despite the hotel’s historic charm.
"Excellent location"
This hotel offers a great location for exploring Rome on foot or via the nearby Colosseum metro stop, just a six-minute walk away. The staff are very nice and helpful, and the rooftop garden provides stunning views over the Imperial Forum. While the rooms are a bit dated and the bathrooms could use renovation, the overall experience is enjoyable—though some may find the price a bit high.

Excellent budget-friendly choice near the Colosseum with comfortable rooms and a great base for sightseeing.
