Bulgari Hotel Roma

"Receipt"
We enjoyed a delightful tea on Monday, November 17. What truly stood out was the receptionist who assisted with our luggage—an absolutely remarkable individual. Professional, smiling, and kind, he exemplifies the level of service one hopes for in a palace of this caliber. His attention and care made a lasting impression. Many thanks to him for enhancing our experience.
"Almost flawless"
The service at the restaurant was impeccable, with extremely kind and attentive waiters who made the dining experience truly enjoyable. The food and ambiance reflected the high standards of the establishment. Unfortunately, our experience was negatively impacted by the reception staff. One lady at the front desk was rude and arrogant, displaying an unprofessional attitude both during check-in and later after dinner. Such behavior detracts from the overall impression of the hotel and is particularly disappointing given the otherwise excellent service throughout the restaurant. I would strongly recommend reconsidering who is placed at the front desk, as first impressions are crucial, especially in a property that otherwise demonstrates high standards of hospitality.
"My experience"
I visited the bar last Sunday for an aperitif and was thoroughly impressed. The service was excellent, and the food was equally outstanding. I was especially attended to by Vittoria, who was friendly, helpful, and highly professional. A wonderful experience all around!
"Bulgarian managers who should not work in there"
The owner and some of the staff, particularly the female manager and other team members, were always friendly and welcoming, which made parts of the experience enjoyable. However, our visit was seriously marred by the behavior of one male staff member (red hair, yellow teeth). During a video call with my daughter, he told me I was disturbing, insisted on moving me to another table, and made inappropriate comments in front of me about guests paying large amounts, implying that regular local patrons “don’t matter.” Such behavior is completely unacceptable and unprofessional for anyone working in hospitality. While some staff were courteous, the attitude and actions of this individual made the experience very uncomfortable and disappointing.
"Nice experience"
Yesterday, I visited the outdoor bar at the Bulgari Hotel with my daughter. It was a lovely spot with a great atmosphere and excellent service. We were assisted by Vittoria, who was exceptionally kind, attentive, and professional, making our experience even more enjoyable.
"Gorgeous hotel, but subpar service."
The hotel itself is a beautifully renovated building with excellent craftsmanship—it truly feels like a 5-star property. The rooms are very spacious, the pool is gorgeous, and the upper bar is lovely (though can become uncomfortably hot in summer). Unfortunately, the service falls far short of expectations. Upon arrival, there was no bellhop to assist with luggage despite arriving by car arranged through the hotel. Requests during the stay, including getting ice or arranging a cab, were ignored or inadequately handled. The concierge forgot a request and seemed unconcerned, and staff never greeted us by name. At times, younger staff appeared inexperienced and disengaged; for example, I had to carry three suitcases through the lobby while six staff members watched without offering help. While the property itself is impressive, if quality service is important, I would recommend considering other options.
"The perfect hotel in a great location"
We had a beautiful room and bathroom with a view of a Colosseum-like structure. The breakfast was excellent, and the bathroom amenities were top-notch. A thermos of sleep tea in the room was a lovely, thoughtful touch. The location is fantastic—just a few minutes from shops and the Spanish Steps. We would definitely stay here again.
"Beautiful, but not 5 star"
The hotel itself is absolutely stunning—every detail and finish is exquisite, the rooms are gorgeous, and the amenities are top-notch. However, the service completely undermines the experience. Upon arrival, no one opened the car doors, and the bellman appeared from an alley to ask if we were checking in—while we stood with four suitcases. Requests for drinks to the room required multiple calls, ultimately forcing me to go downstairs in person. The concierge sent us to a terrible restaurant one night, and when I tried to get a taxi on another evening, I was told the hotel could not help because Coldplay was in town. Staff never addressed us by name, never assisted with doors, and showed no initiative or courtesy. At checkout, I carried my luggage to the lobby and was met with stares from the front desk—no one offered help. When I shared my dissatisfaction with the desk clerk, her only response was “oh.” While the property could rival the best in design and luxury, the staff’s amateurish approach makes the stay frustrating. This hotel would benefit greatly if management observed how a true 5-star hotel operates, rather than leaving inexperienced staff to represent the brand.
"Well located hotel but lacks attention from staff"
The hotel itself is stunning and perfectly located. The rooms are beautiful, spotless, and well-appointed. However, the service leaves much to be desired—it feels impersonal and cold, as if you don’t exist. Communication is handled through a chat system with multiple staff members, but instead of helping, it complicates matters by canceling appointments you made and scheduling ones you never requested. This was my second stay, and unfortunately, it will be my last. Considering the high price, there are warmer, more attentive hotels in Rome that provide a far better experience.
