Sofitel Roma Villa Borghese

"Great choice"
Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese is a beautiful hotel located in a quiet area, just a 10-minute walk from the Spanish Steps. The property is very clean, and the staff are welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms, while slightly smaller than expected, are comfortable and well-suited for two people, with a very comfortable bed. Overall, this hotel is an excellent choice for a stay in Rome.
"Quiet Luxury with Great Views"
Overall, this is a great hotel with a luxurious vibe in a fantastic city. Booking from overseas, the reservations manager was lovely and helpful, ensuring we got excellent rooms at a good price. I recommend joining the All Accor program, as the benefits and recognition are worthwhile. The reception staff—including doormen, concierges, and front desk—were all welcoming, helpful, and present, with multilingual capabilities. We splurged on two of the best rooms in the hotel (701 and 702), which offered fabulous views over the city and the Vatican. These rooms featured comfy beds, great showers, nice linen, plenty of space, and excellent daily service with turndown. The location is superb, just a 5–10 minute walk to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, though the hill climb back at the end of the day can be steep. The neighborhood offers great restaurants and even a pharmacy nearby. Breakfast at the rooftop restaurant was delightful, with amazing city views and a wide choice of dishes. Dinner, however, was a bit disappointing—drinks were expensive, and the food was okay but slightly over-ambitious in portions and presentation. Despite this minor drawback, the overall stay was excellent, especially given the stunning views and attentive staff.
"At the level of a 4 star"
The hotel is nice, but the rooms are small, and the services fall short of a 5-star standard. We stayed here for our honeymoon but did not receive any special attention, which was a disappointment.
"Luxury and Space"
This hotel offers a rare combination of luxury and spaciousness for a European property. Its location is convenient—close to attractions but far enough from the crowds to enjoy a peaceful stay. The staff are exceptionally welcoming and helpful, making the experience even more enjoyable.
"Good hotel option for Accor members"
Our arrival at the hotel was excellent, with the concierge arranging a driver from the airport—a very convenient touch after a long international flight. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. Using our Platinum Accor membership, we booked a suite that was large, nicely decorated, and featured a lounge, bedroom, two toilets, and small balconies. The bathroom and shower were very spacious, though storage for cosmetics was limited. Platinum welcome amenities, including chocolates and a bottle of Prosecco, were a lovely touch. We dined twice at the rooftop restaurant, enjoying the sunset terrace, good food, and attentive service. The evening aperitivo can get busy, so booking early is recommended. Breakfast was solid, with eggs cooked to order alongside a buffet. The hotel’s location is convenient but sits atop a steep hill, which may be challenging for those with mobility issues. The only downside was minor issues with room servicing—bathroom toiletries weren’t always replenished, and remote control batteries were sometimes overlooked, which is disappointing at this price point.
"The Palace to be"
We chose Sofitel Villa Borghèse for our recent stay in Rome, and it exceeded all our expectations. The hotel’s location at the corner of the Villa Borghese gardens offers stunning views of the city and Vatican City, while being just minutes from Rome’s most iconic sights and monuments. Despite its proximity to the city center and prestigious Via Veneto, the area remains wonderfully quiet and peaceful. Our suite was beautifully and tastefully decorated, with a sunny terrace that we enjoyed even in the late season. It perfectly met the high expectations one would have from a property of this caliber. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace, with panoramic views, was a sumptuous start to each day, and the hotel restaurant quickly became our go-to for meals. The rooftop location, quality and generosity of the food, and attentive service made dining an absolute pleasure. The autumn menu highlighted authentic Roman cuisine, including unforgettable dishes like lobster pasta and a subtly flavored rack of lamb—some of the best we have ever tasted. Meeting the hotel manager, Sébastien Antoine, with his friendly Quebec accent, and enjoying the attentive, professional staff—including the very helpful assistant director, Francesca—added a personal touch that made our stay even more memorable. Thanks to the entire team, this experience was truly unforgettable. We hope to return and can wholeheartedly recommend this exceptional property.
"Very nice hotel"
The highlights of this hotel are undoubtedly the superb rooftop terrace, the excellent breakfast, and the high level of service. It is conveniently located near Piazza di Spagna, though other attractions require a reasonable walk. While the price is high, the quality of service makes the stay worthwhile.
"Great!"
The hotel has been renovated with an interesting and stylish décor. The staff are very friendly, providing impeccable service throughout our stay. The rooms are bright and inviting, and the breakfast offers not only excellent food but also beautiful views that make the start of the day truly special.
"Good stay"
The room was small but very clean, with a nice bathroom and a good breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful. However, as a Gold Accor member, there was little added benefit—just a complimentary drink—which felt underwhelming.
"Ended in Rome"
Every time we visit Rome, we choose Sofitel, and it continues to impress. The hotel is amazing, located on a quiet uphill street—perfect if you don’t mind the walk. The rooms are of average size, with bathrooms that are excellent and showers that are truly impressive. The breakfast is, without a doubt, the best we have experienced in any hotel. The only downside was our anniversary dinner. We had reserved an outdoor table but were limited to the tasting menu, and requests to order from the regular menu were refused unless we moved indoors. The dishes we received were disappointing and, frankly, below expectations. This was the only aspect that spoiled an otherwise wonderful stay, and we filed a complaint upon checkout. For better dining options nearby, there are a couple of excellent restaurants just down the street.
