"Mixed review"
Our experience at this restaurant was a mix of highs and lows. The seafood appetizer was fabulous, featuring smoked swordfish, salmon, anchovies, and a flavorful seafood salad with calamari and shrimp—truly delicious. However, service had some hiccups: we had to request the bread basket, which was then almost taken away before our pasta arrived. The lasagna was a major disappointment, lacking flavor and falling short of authentic Italian standards. The zucchini flowers were filled with mozzarella instead of ricotta, and while the sliced chicken was good, it didn’t stand out compared to other restaurants we’ve visited. At the end of the meal, some customers received limoncello, but we were only given pastries meant to be dipped, without any beverage. Despite being polite and not complaining, we felt overlooked. Overall, a disappointing experience, though the seafood appetizer was excellent.
"Good for a quick dinner"
Located among many restaurants on a long street, this spot offers friendly but somewhat mechanical service. We enjoyed the prosciutto and melon, which was very good and generously portioned for sharing. The cannelloni stuffed with ricotta and spinach was tasty, though the pasta was slightly overcooked. Prices were reasonable, and the overall experience was quick and satisfactory. While it’s not fine dining, we would definitely return.
"Move on and go elsewhere"
Although recommended by our hotel, this restaurant was a letdown. The service was poor, and the food was just average. There are plenty of better dining options in Rome—definitely skip this one.
"Immediate response!"
I searched for the best restaurant within 500 meters of the office, and this place was a pleasant surprise—definitely on my personal podium of restaurants in Rome. The staff were super polite and proactive, and the tables were nicely set with cloth napkins, which is impressive for a tourist-friendly spot. I enjoyed an excellent artichoke alla giudia and a perfectly prepared coda alla vaccinara. The fresh bread was a nice touch, and I ended with a small panna cotta at the waiter’s insistence—it was a must! Although waits can be a bit long, the food is well worth it. Excellent value for money, and I highly recommend it to everyone.
"Excellent option next to the Pantheon"
We dined at this restaurant just a few meters from the Pantheon, and it was a wonderful experience. The bean artichokes were delicious, the wood-fired pizza exquisite, and the tortellini stuffed with burrata was the best we’ve ever had—served with freshly grated truffle at the table, adding a special touch. The staff were attentive and friendly throughout, and the value for money was excellent, especially considering the truffle. Highly recommended!
"Very good!!!!"
A very good restaurant located in the center, offering delicious food at a reasonable price. The service was excellent, making the experience even better. We will definitely return and highly recommend the Maximus Black dish!
"Great Dining Experiences"
If you’re visiting Rome and want an authentic urban Roman dining experience, Hosteria de’ Pastini comes highly recommended. Our hotel was just around the corner, and we ended up enjoying three meals here because the overall experience was so memorable—especially compared to other nearby restaurants. The food was very good and fairly priced, with excellent wine to complement the dishes. For lunch, we had one of my all-time favorite pizzas: a thin-crust with pancetta. The atmosphere, both inside and outside, was very pleasant and perfect for people-watching. All the staff were engaging and made us feel truly welcome. We even chatted with another couple who have been returning to this restaurant for nine consecutive years—a testament to its quality. We would definitely return again.
"Recommended"
I only had a carbonara as I was in a hurry, but it was very enjoyable. The atmosphere was lovely, and the service from the professional Roman waiters was excellent. Prices were fair, making it a great spot even for a quick meal.
"Top 👍"
We had a top-notch lunch with a warm welcome, professional service, and plenty of smiles. Our meal included three beers, a glass of white wine, spaghetti bolognese, fettuccine bolognese, cannelloni with ricotta, spinach ravioli, and tiramisu, totaling €111 for four people. Everything was perfect—highly recommended!
"Discover!!"
We stumbled upon this restaurant near the Pantheon, and it turned out to be a wonderful find. The interior is charming, the service is friendly and welcoming, and the food is both tasty and generously portioned. It was a shame it was our last night in Rome, as we would have gladly returned. Prices were quite reasonable as well.
