"I wish this was in the States."
I honestly don’t understand how this place isn’t rated five stars. The staff, Stefano and Ester, were fantastic—friendly, attentive, and made the experience truly memorable. The drinks were excellent, and the bao we tried was just as impressive. Combined with the great overall vibe, this bar feels like a hidden gem. If it were in the States, I’d be coming here all the time!
"Worlds Top 50"
Kong is a very cool, chic bar where both the drinks and the menu stand out for their creativity. The service was excellent, with the bartender offering thoughtful suggestions and showing genuine kindness. I only realized toward the end that this bar is listed among the World’s top 50, which explains the attention to detail. Each cocktail is a unique experience: Materia surprises with its specialty coffee flavor, Kong Island is smooth and easy-drinking, Gaijin comes in a distinctive cup with fun ice lettering and a hint of licorice, Mojo Raisin tastes like a sweet white wine with raisin notes, and Quetzal is refreshingly delicious with a guava-like finish—my personal favorite. All the flavors are carefully balanced, blending harmoniously to achieve the intended taste profiles, making the experience memorable for any cocktail enthusiast.

This bar is full of energy—both in the best and most chaotic ways. The drinks were solid, though not particularly memorable, yet the overall experience was enjoyable. Would I recommend it? Perhaps yes, as the lively atmosphere made for a fun evening, even if it was a bit noisy. In the end, the vibe carried the night, making it worth a visit for those who enjoy energetic, bustling spots.
"Nice experience"
The cocktails were exceptionally good, with a wide variety of choices presented on a beautifully designed and detailed menu. The atmosphere is thoughtfully styled—dark, moody, and complemented by great music that enhances the overall experience. Having visited several bars ranked in the world’s top 50, I felt this place was just slightly missing a few small touches, such as water service and complimentary snacks, which would have elevated it even further. Aside from that minor detail, it was a fantastic experience overall and definitely worth a visit.
"Does not live up to the hype"
As a seasoned cocktail enthusiast with experience on both sides of the bar, I found this place doesn’t quite live up to the hype. While the staff are friendly and the décor and menu create a strong first impression, the drinks rely too heavily on pre-made shrubs and overly sweet syrups, which in my opinion diminishes the craft. I appreciate batching and creative infusion techniques, but I also value seeing the actual spirits skillfully mixed into the cocktails—a balance this bar doesn’t fully achieve.

Tucked away in a quieter part of Rome, this spot offers a refreshing change of pace from the city’s busier scenes. The drinks are fun, creative, and delightfully eclectic, bringing a vibe that feels quite unique for Italy. We truly enjoyed the overall experience—the atmosphere alone makes it worth a visit. The only thing we regret is not trying more of the food, which looked just as tempting as the cocktails.

We visited this bar on a friend’s recommendation and were immediately impressed by the lovely atmosphere and striking, cool decor. The menu is creative and indie, offering exciting cocktail options, but at around €16 a drink, the cocktails felt a bit underwhelming for the price. The staff were polite, though not particularly engaging, and they brought small snacks like crisps and olives to the table for an extra charge—so be mindful of that. Overall, it’s a visually stylish spot with a unique vibe, but it comes at a premium that may not match the drink experience.
"Super ‘shee-shee’ cocktails in a quiet pocket of Rome"
If you’re happy to splurge on expertly crafted cocktails, this is a must-visit spot—but if you’re only after a simple Euro-Peroni, you might want to look elsewhere. The only possible downside to Kong would be the prices; aside from that, the place absolutely oozes cool from every corner. The bartenders and staff are true professionals who clearly know their craft, and someone was always on hand to check in and see if we needed anything. Even the menu alone is reason enough to stop by for a drink—or three. We shared a vegan bao to nibble on while enjoying our cocktails, and both the drinks and the food were outstanding. We were very tempted to stay longer, but since it was our last night in Rome, we had to make room for one final indulgent pizza. Highly recommended—especially for hipsters and lovers of trendy, upscale vibes!
