"Regular"

The hotel has a fantastic location and the staff are very friendly, making interactions enjoyable. However, there are several areas that could use improvement. The beds are super hard with only regular pillows, and the internet connection was poor. Food variety was limited, and the drinks were low quality—tequila was only Jimador—but the Micheladas were excellent. Snacks offered very little variety as well. If you’re staying in the adults-only area, be aware that you have to pay extra as if you weren’t a hotel guest, with everything handled separately. Additionally, the beach bunkers were very dirty, which detracted from the overall experience. While there are positives like the location and staff, these issues may impact comfort and convenience.

"Overall good stay but treated more like a hotel than a resort"

This was our first time staying at a non-all-inclusive hotel in Mexico, and while buying drinks from the hotel can get expensive, we appreciated having the option to bring our own water to the pools and enjoy food and drinks in our room. We didn’t order from the hotel bar or restaurant, so we can’t speak to the taste, but the restaurant looked clean and well-maintained, and the food and drinks being served looked appealing. The property has four pools—three on the all-inclusive/kids side and one in the adults-only section. We spent all our pool time in the adults-only area, which was sunny, quiet, and not crowded. While it’s smaller, it suited us perfectly, especially during Bear Week when the other side was lively and busy. We were fortunate to get one of the updated oceanview rooms, which was very comfortable. It featured a chair, desk, king-size bed, couch, TV, dresser, and a balcony with a stunning view where we enjoyed sunsets every evening. The hotel’s location in the heart of La Zona Romantica is excellent. Everything is within walking distance, including shops, restaurants, and small markets. The pier is right behind the hotel and is a busy spot, so expect local vendors to approach you on the beach or Malecon—but a polite “no gracias” is enough. Overall, we had a great stay and would most likely return.

"There are crocodiles on the beach shore"

The hotel is cute and comfortable, and the staff are very attentive and friendly, making our stay enjoyable. The buffet was excellent, offering a rich variety of food. However, the main concern was the presence of crocodiles on the beach, which made it unsafe to enter the water. We spent most of our time in the pool instead, as the crocodiles were often near the shore. While the hotel itself is lovely, guests need to be extremely cautious when near the beach.

"From June"

The service at this hotel is outstanding—10 out of 10. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making every interaction a pleasure. Treatments were relaxing and professional, room service was prompt and convenient, and the food was a delight compared to other establishments. The combination of excellent service and high-quality amenities made our stay truly enjoyable.

"Needs to get much better"

Facilities need WiFi in the rooms and Restaurant Service leaves much to be desired, especially the variety of food

"Hotel Delfin is great…."

We stayed in the adults-only section of the hotel, which features all oceanfront suites. The rooms are excellent—spacious, well-located, and available at a great price. I’m a travel agent and visit this property every year, so I was surprised to see some of the negative reviews. The all-inclusive deal is not ideal, especially for the food, so I recommend dining elsewhere if you’re on that plan. The all-inclusive section is separate from the adults-only front section, located around the back and sides of the hotel in what is still called the San Marino—this can be a bit confusing. I would never stay anywhere but the front, ocean-facing section, which is quieter, more private, and much more enjoyable. A bonus is that there is a separate check-in area for the front section, which makes arrivals smooth and hassle-free. While this secret spot may not stay hidden for long, it’s definitely the best choice for those seeking an adults-only, oceanfront experience.

"Great Hotel with a Great Location!"

The Delfin Hotel is perfectly located at the south end of the Malecon boardwalk in the Romantic Zone. It’s a lively area—sometimes noisy—but full of energy and fun. The beach is right in front of the hotel, offering a wonderful area for swimming, and the pier just below is a favorite spot for both tourists and locals in the evenings, beautifully lit and perfect for night swimming. We stayed in the adults-only tower, and the rooms were very spacious, allowing us to comfortably gather for drinks with the couple we were traveling with. A special shout-out goes to Haziel Rodriguez, the bellboy, who made an incredible impression from the moment we arrived. Every day he greeted us warmly, answered all our questions about the area, and even inquired about cab fares on our behalf. His attentiveness and friendliness truly enhanced our stay. We also want to thank Luis Santana and Eduardo, who went above and beyond to help my husband create a large sign in the sand below our room to commemorate our trip, complete with tiki torches to make it extra special. Overall, this is a great hotel with a fantastic location and staff who genuinely make your stay memorable.
