"A unique and highly recommended experience"

This hotel truly stands out, offering a real and unique experience. The service from check-in to check-out is remarkable, especially in the on-site amenities like the Veranda Restaurant and the Buenos Días Cafeteria. It even features a movie theater, adding to the charm. For anyone seeking a memorable stay steeped in history, this Hotel Museum comes fully recommended.

"Classic charm in the middle of CDMX."

Staying at Hotel Geneve was a truly unique experience. From the moment you arrive, it feels like more than just a hotel—it’s a place full of history, classic elegance, and meticulous care. Its location in Zona Rosa is unbeatable, allowing easy walks to several of the city’s most iconic spots. The room was spacious, comfortable, and quiet, with a traditional style that perfectly complements the hotel’s concept. The service was attentive and discreet, and the common areas invite guests to relax, enjoy a drink, and soak in the atmosphere. The Christmas decorations added an extra touch of magic to the stay. The only area for improvement is breakfast. Occasionally, stations weren’t restocked, basic options were sold out, and the service could be more attentive and fluid to match the overall high standard of the hotel. While a minor detail, it slightly interrupts the otherwise harmonious and well-kept experience.

"I’ll repeat."

Staying at this hotel feels like stepping back in time—it truly has a museum-like atmosphere. The breakfast was good, and the service was attentive throughout our stay. The outbuildings are well maintained, and the property is treated with care. The rooms are somewhat small, and the bathrooms are very narrow. During showers, water would often spill onto the floor because the shower curtain didn’t fully cover the tray. Despite this minor inconvenience, I had a good stay during my six nights at the hotel.

"Historic and beautiful hotel that does not take care of its employees for the benefit of customers"

Whenever I return to Mexico City, I usually stay a couple of nights at this historic hotel, and over the years I’ve noticed both its charms and its changes. The hall, bar, dining room, and lounges are beautiful, almost like a museum, and the décor is truly impressive. Breakfasts, lunches, and dinners are well-prepared and affordable, maintaining a classic hotel experience. However, the rooms are very old and haven’t been renovated. Over time, many of the most professional and friendly staff have left, and asking about them often reveals a tense atmosphere—staff seem afraid to speak, which suggests management and human resources practices may be lacking. Many guests return not just for the hotel’s comfort, but for the exceptional service, which is now noticeably diminished. On my most recent visit, the hotel felt very expensive compared to others in the same category, and it was practically empty. If the current trend continues, despite its historic charm, I may have to reconsider staying here after 30 years of visits.

"DIRTY SHEETS/TOWELS"

Our stay was very disappointing. The first room we were given faced guests who were smoking, and despite complaining twice, loud music continued until 4 a.m. on Saturday. The sheets had black makeup stains, and even after switching rooms, the new bed’s sheets also had makeup, and a towel had lipstick stains. The shower curtain smelled strongly of wet dog, and although we informed the front desk, it was never replaced. When we asked to speak to a manager, we were told he wouldn’t be available until later and that the front desk could not assist once payment had been processed at arrival. Overall, cleanliness, noise, and unhelpful staff made for a frustrating experience.

"Just so helpful…"

I want to highlight the outstanding assistance provided by the chief concierge, Jo Ariel Mendoza. Upon arriving at the hotel, we discovered that my wife’s passport had been lost, which was an incredibly stressful situation. Jo Ariel was exceptionally supportive throughout the entire ordeal, helping us navigate 24 hours of contacting the embassy and searching for the lost passport. His professionalism, patience, and dedication made a very difficult experience manageable. I cannot speak highly enough of his support and would highly recommend the hotel based on the excellent care we received. —Peter Lee, Sydney, Australia

"good and noisy"

The hotel has a luxurious appearance, especially in the lobby, but the rooms, while clean, don’t match the same level of artistic or impressive detail. Our room was cleaned on the first night, but not on the second. Breakfast appeared plentiful, yet the ingredients felt low in quality. Some drawbacks included noise from the street and inconsistent service. I had to repeatedly remind staff to provide the complimentary water that should have been placed in the room during cleaning. Overall, while the property is visually appealing, the service and some practical aspects fell short.

"A great option in the city with opportunities for improvement"

This hotel feels like a living museum of the Porfiriato era and is very well maintained. The only downside is that the beds could use modernization—from matrimonial to queen size—to improve comfort. The restaurants serve very good food, and the location is ideal for getting around the city, with the metro and Metrobús conveniently close. The staff, many of whom are young, are exceptionally friendly and welcoming, making the stay even more enjoyable.
