"No wifi"
Hotel rooms are industrial style. A bit cold. Room was comfortable and clean. I had no WiFi in my room. Complained about it. Said they would fix it but never did.. had to use internet in lobby. Hotel is noisy because bar goes til midnight. Bring ear plugs if you want to sleep before midnight.
"THE RESTAURANT IS WORTH A VISIT or TWO…."

"Looks great and stylist, but average service and facilities"
We stayed here for four nights during our trip to Mexico City. The hotel looks great and stylish, and even the most basic room was well designed. There’s a pool, though seating is limited, and the location in the Reforma area is ideal, with plenty of restaurants nearby. The restaurant nearby (which appears to be part of the hotel) serves excellent food, though it is on the expensive side for Mexico City. However, we experienced several issues during our stay. Our room’s shower didn’t drain properly, causing an unpleasant smell for the last two days. The room was also noisy due to a nearby bar. Housekeeping was inconsistent—no towels were provided some mornings, so we had to get them from reception, and glasses were left outside our room for three days. There’s also no facility to make coffee in the room (common in Mexico), which was inconvenient for early risers, though there are plenty of Starbucks nearby. Overall, it’s okay for a budget city break, but with some improvements, it could be much better.
"Contemporary style and comfortable rooms"
We arrived in the early hours of Christmas morning and, after sorting out the confusion over the overpriced airport pickup (take Ubers instead in Mexico City!), we settled happily into our simple, boutique-style room. The staff were helpful and friendly—just remember to tip, or they will kindly remind you. Breakfasts were good, and overall, we were very happy with our three-night stay.
"Cool vibe, not soundproof"
I loved the style and architecture of Hotel Carlota! The hotel is very trendy, with great music and a lively restaurant/bar. However, there were a few drawbacks: the staff spoke very little English, making assistance limited, and the rooms were not soundproof at all—street noise, as well as noise from the restaurant and breakfast area, was very noticeable in my second-floor room. Additionally, the room was quite small. Overall, it’s a good choice for a night’s stay, but not ideal if you need to work or require a full night of rest.
"Just what you need + stylish"
I had a fantastic experience at Hotel Carlota CDMX—my second time staying here. The price is excellent, and the hotel offers exactly what you need. Its central location puts you within walking distance of some of the trendier streets. The rooms are stylish, and I particularly love the third-floor rooms with roof terraces, which bring in plenty of natural light. The indoor/outdoor open-air floor plan is refreshing, especially in the current times. The restaurant is simple but perfectly adequate, and while some furnishings are a bit basic, it’s more than reasonable for the price. The professional staff and friendly atmosphere make the hotel even better—last time I stayed, I made friends with fellow travelers I still keep in touch with! I highly recommend it.
"Privileged location, beautiful concept, but lousy to rest at night due to noise."
The location is privileged and the hotel very nice, but the NOISE is somewhat excessive. Being a hotel as an open concept, without the typical closed corridors of hotel, all night you hear noises and in the morning the sounds of kitchen, blender, the screams of the waiters, etc. And if your room is close to the staircase and its industrial elevator, be ready to hear the bangs every time it opens and closes, so it seems to me that the cost-benefit ratio is very high.
"Special design within the DF"
I was initially worried about my stay due to some reviews I had read, and the man at reception seemed a little inattentive at first. However, the next morning, everything changed: the lady at the reception was very friendly and helped us resolve a card payment issue, while the porter went above and beyond, assisting with our luggage, suggesting tourist itineraries, recommending transportation, and even providing maps for our walks. The breakfast was spectacular, and we also enjoyed a delicious dinner one night. The pool is heated and perfect for relaxation. I highly recommend this hotel, but it’s better suited for couples rather than families with children.
