"The worst hotel I’ve been to in Lara. Everything is exhausting!"
This was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve had in Lara, and I regret ever booking here. From the start, the service was appalling. Twice, other guests came to my table asking for rooftop knives because none had been provided to them either. When I requested tea, the waitress stopped mid-pour and left. I had to stand up and fetch it myself. On the same day (June 20th), I witnessed another guest angrily waiting over 20 minutes for her coffee at the lobby bar. These incidents reflect serious service issues and lack of professionalism. I had requested a room near the main facilities, but instead, I was placed in one of the hotel’s most remote areas. Despite being told the hotel was “full,” I noticed tour operators selling rooms the very same day – clear dishonesty. The walk from my room to the beach was nearly 2km, making it exhausting to get anywhere, even for meals. The dining area is poorly designed, and moving around the resort feels like a chore. The food was average, nothing special, and while the entertainment was decent, it ended too early (around midnight). Cleanliness in the restaurant and kitchen areas was good, but the toiletries in the room were impractically placed – the dispensers were so high up they seemed designed for very tall guests. To make matters worse, I witnessed highly inappropriate behavior on the beach and around the hotel, with no staff intervention. Guests engaging in public indecency on the beach and walking around the hotel as if nothing happened – even entering dining venues and elevators inappropriately dressed. This lack of control and disregard for other guests is shocking. For the premium price charged, this hotel fails on every level – poor service, lack of safety, and no sense of guest care. You can definitely find far better resorts at much more reasonable prices. I will never return, and I strongly advise others to avoid this place.
"Adalya Elite Lara"
This hotel is absolutely beautiful! From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming and well thought out. The animation team, food, and entertainment were all excellent – it felt like everything was designed for us to enjoy to the fullest. The cleanliness throughout the resort is impeccable, and the swimming pools are kept at the perfect temperature for a relaxing dip. The spa experience was also fantastic and highly recommended. The staff deserve special praise for being so attentive and responsive to every request. The cuisine was delicious, with plenty of variety, and the sweet shop was a real highlight – everything was irresistible! Our holiday in Antalya left us with the warmest memories, and we would love to return.
"Honest review from a Brit"
Not sure where to begin! My partner, our 2-year-old, and I stayed for 11 days at the start of June. On arrival, the hotel looked stunning, and our room seemed spacious and well-designed. However, on closer inspection, several issues became apparent: There was mould on the bathroom ceiling and around the shower seal that wasn’t cleaned during our entire stay. The TV didn’t work at all. Water pressure in the bathroom was awful. Meal times were also a challenge. Our toddler has a dairy allergy, but almost every dish contained dairy. While there was a small “intolerances corner,” it only ever seemed to have fruit. Staff at meal times didn’t seem particularly attentive or helpful, although drinks were served quickly. The kids’ pools were fantastic – especially the one with the tipping bucket – and were a real highlight for us. However, the poolside roller team who deliver drinks and fruit never came to the children’s pool area. In 11 days, they only visited that pool twice, which felt like a missed opportunity (parents are the ones who need a drink most!). Entertainment was another major letdown. Almost all the children’s activities were in German, Russian, or Turkish, leaving our little one unable to engage. We were also surprised by how many guests, including ourselves, were covered in insect bites. A tip for future guests: skip the hotel doctor and visit the pharmacy just outside the resort for better (and cheaper) solutions. We tried the Mexican à la carte restaurant, but we wouldn’t recommend it. Service was painfully slow, portions were tiny, and several items came out incorrectly. These restaurants get booked up quickly, and this was the only one we managed to reserve. The worst experience came on the day of departure. Throughout our stay, we repeatedly asked about late checkout as our toddler needed to nap before our 9 PM pickup. Each time we were told to “ask on departure day.” That morning, reception told us no rooms were available and suggested we hire a cabana by the pool (even though we offered to pay £120 for a room). To make matters worse, our booking technically included the following day as our flight was just after midnight, but the hotel insisted on checkout. Their “freshen up room” turned out to be a 20-minute slot in a basic changing room, which was not ideal with a toddler. Aside from Bayram at the outdoor food venue (who was lovely and the one positive staff member), most of the staff came across as indifferent or unhelpful. In summary, the best part of this hotel was the children’s pools. Sadly, everything else fell short of expectations. We wouldn’t recommend this hotel to families from the UK looking for a warm and inclusive experience.
"Great holiday but came home SICK"
This was my second visit to the Adalya within four months, staying from March 8th to 14th. I arrived late at night and initially requested a sea-view room. I was given a room with a sitting area and a separate bedroom, but it wasn’t quite what I was hoping for. Thankfully, the following morning I was moved to a room at the end of the building overlooking the pool bar, and it was wonderful waking up to views of the sea. After checking in, I managed to grab a bite to eat at the restaurant, though the late-night selection was quite limited. Breakfast the next morning was a pleasant surprise – I even bumped into someone from the UK whom I had met on my last visit, though he was heading home the next day. The food this time around was noticeably improved compared to my November visit, with more variety. I tried the Italian and Chinese à la carte restaurants; the Italian was excellent, but the Chinese was disappointing – perhaps because I was dining alone. I’ve found in Caribbean resorts they often provide a communal table for solo travelers, which makes the experience more relaxed and sociable. The weather was perfect all week, and I found a lovely spot by the pool bar to enjoy my days. The bar staff were fantastic – in the evenings I often sat at the “singles corner” in the downstairs bar (the four stools on the right) where I could chat with other guests and enjoy great service from the bartenders. One negative was the behavior of a few men whose sole purpose seemed to be chasing after women. A lady from the UK even mentioned to me how uncomfortable this made her, although there were a few women who didn’t seem to mind the attention. It was nice to see evening entertainment provided, and I had a great time at the nightclub one evening with some new friends I met during my stay. On my final day, my transfer wasn’t until 20:30, so it was really helpful to have access to the well-hidden late check-out rooms. Sadly, the holiday ended on a sour note when I returned home feeling unwell. I developed a bacterial chest infection that took eight weeks to recover from. This isn’t the first time I’ve fallen ill after a Lara Beach trip, and it makes me wonder if activities like the entertainers’ games (where guests put spoons in their mouths) might contribute to the spread of bugs. Overall, it was a great holiday – excellent food, a comfortable room, great weather, and I met some lovely people. The Adalya remains, in my opinion, the best hotel I’ve stayed in at Lara Beach, even compared to places like the Delphin Imperial. However, the repeated illnesses I’ve experienced after trips here make me hesitate about returning. P.S. It would be a huge improvement if the TVs in the rooms allowed HDMI access so guests could connect their devices and watch platforms like YouTube.
"Good Resort Hotel but Poor Service"
Overall, the hotel is very picturesque with excellent facilities and a relaxing atmosphere. It has so much potential to be outstanding. However, what really let the experience down was the inconsistent service. Sadly, I felt there was a noticeable difference in how guests were treated. While I’ve always loved traveling to Turkey, we’ve encountered this issue before in tourist areas – staff seem to show more respect and offer warmer service to white European guests compared to those with darker skin tones. During our stay, I observed waiters and waitresses engaging politely, smiling, and having friendly conversations with European visitors. Yet, when my mother and I tried to be equally polite, we were often ignored. On several occasions, I had to serve myself at breakfast and lunch because the staff simply didn’t bother to help us. This is a good hotel with beautiful surroundings, but it would benefit greatly from employing high-quality staff members who are professional, respectful, and capable of making all guests feel equally welcome – regardless of their background.
"Thanks for the pleasant attention we loved ADALIA"
I have stayed at this hotel several times, and each visit has been a great experience. Although I haven’t stayed in the Lara area before, I can confidently say the resort is absolutely beautiful in every way. The food is delicious, and the beach staff are exceptionally pleasant and friendly, always creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. My friends and I had a fantastic time, and I’ll definitely return at the first opportunity. If you’re someone who enjoys relaxing and making the most of your holiday, this place is perfect. Sending greetings to all the wonderful and friendly staff who made our stay so memorable!
"Not a 5* hotel"
We’ve just returned from this hotel as a family of four (with children aged 5 and 2). Overall, I would say this feels more like a 4-star hotel rather than a true 5-star, especially when compared to other resorts in Turkey such as Barut, Delphin, or Titanic. The room was fine—clean and functional with a stocked mini-bar—but nothing particularly special. Service: Hit and miss. At times, we experienced good service, but on other occasions staff were distracted (texting on their phones) while we waited to order food or drinks. A positive mention goes to the staff in the lobby bar, who were consistently great. Food: The buffet restaurant was chaotic due to the sheer number of guests, making it an unpleasant experience at times. The food selection was large and decent, with themed nights like Asian, Mexican, and Turkish, but drinks service at tables was slow and soft drinks often tasted flat. For lunch, we preferred the snack restaurant near the hotel, where pizzas were freshly cooked and ice cream was available from 12:30. The Asian à la carte restaurant was lovely, with excellent service. Drinks: Branded options were available, which was good, though only Efes was offered as beer. A wider selection of beers would have been appreciated. Facilities: There are plenty of pools and sun loungers, although some guests reserved loungers near the kids’ splash pool and left them unused—a slight frustration given limited seating in that area. The poolside drink service (rollerblade team) didn’t work well; orders were often wrong or missed due to limited staff. Entertainment: The kids’ rides included dodgems, a carousel, Ferris wheel, and trampolines (though one ride wasn’t operating during our stay). The kids club put on shows a few nights a week—our youngest loved the Paw Patrol show. On Sundays, there’s a family party with bouncy castles and games, but the inflatables could benefit from better supervision. Final thoughts: We chose this hotel as it was a good deal for half term, but I don’t think we’d return. Personally, I’d prefer to pay a little more for a true 5-star experience at one of the other resorts in the area.
"Solo Holiday"
I’m currently on a 10-day solo trip and wanted to share feedback that I hope will help both future travelers and the hotel itself. While the hotel is showing signs of age, it’s very well maintained thanks to the committed staff. One standout feature was the allergy questionnaire on arrival. Being allergic to onion (in a country where it’s widely used), I found this level of care exceptional. After an early morning flight, all luggage was taken straight from the coach to guests’ rooms. However, the room I was initially assigned on the 5th floor didn’t meet my expectations. When I raised this at reception, Hamzei handled the situation perfectly—he found me a much better room without hesitation. His solution-driven approach and excellent customer service deserve 10/10. I also had the pleasure of dealing with Nisol at Customer Service. She has been an absolute star—professional, warm, and incredibly engaging. She made me feel safe and valued throughout my stay. In my opinion, she has all the qualities of a future hotel manager and more.
"No rest"
If you’re looking for a peaceful and relaxing family getaway, this hotel isn’t the place for you. The loud entertainment goes on until the middle of the night, the walls are paper-thin, and restless neighbors made it impossible to unwind. Sadly, I wasn’t able to get any proper rest during my stay. We won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to others seeking a quiet holiday.
"Paradise does exist"
This was our second stay at the Adalya Elite, having loved it back in 2019, and it was every bit as amazing as we remembered. We had a sea view room that didn’t disappoint—the view stretching across the resort down to the sea was simply stunning. The room itself was spacious and very comfortable. We really appreciated the adults-only section in the buffet restaurant, where the waiting staff were always friendly and attentive. We also dined at two of the à la carte restaurants—the Turkish and Italian—and both were outstanding, with top-class food and service. Lunchtimes at the Heaven Snack Bar were a treat, especially the delicious pide and kebabs. A special mention goes to the team at the Mahall Bar—the cocktails were fabulous, as were the staff. I’d highly recommend this hotel, and we’re already looking forward to returning for a third visit.
"I had a missed treat"
We are very pleased with this hotel and return every year because of the wonderful service and atmosphere. From the reception team, especially Cemil and gentleman Şeref at the bell desk, to the main restaurant staff like Fortune, Ordre, and Ramazan, everyone made us feel so welcome. At the bar, Sefiri and Huryye provided excellent service, and the charcuterie section was spotless with such attentive staff. The entire property was immaculately clean, from the pools to all common areas, and the staff were always cheerful and helpful. Once again, an amazing stay—thank you for making our holiday so enjoyable!
