"Forced to check in bag with no assurances that it’ll be at my destination or they wouldn’t let me on"
I was told I wouldn’t be able to board if I didn’t check in my carryover last minute. In my experience, your luggage is waaay more likely to end up in another airport this way (3/4 times in my experience unfortunately). The lack of planning and enforcement of carryon sizes is unfortunate. I wasn’t given any sort of upgrade or accommodation for the extra risk or assurances in writing that my luggage would be there when we arrived after layover. Hate when this happened and it really lessens the experience worrying if I’m going half my vacation with only 1 set of clothes and my valuables who knows where Previously, about 5 years ago, they gave us an hour to rush through customs and security and left me stuck in the airport with no voucher for the lounge or food I regret trusting them again, making sure I and my belongings is the most important metric and they’ve failed every time I’ve flown with them.
"Fly elsewhere"
experience with this airline was horrendous. It’s cheaper for a reason. I had issues with getting my boarding pass and no one could assist me. Spent over an hour with customer service and I still did not get a boarding pass and missed my flight.
"Don’t fly with AeroMexico"
I do NOT recommend this airline. They closed our gate without calling us, we arrived 18 min before the flight and were denied. The rebooking would have cost more than the original round trip for a one way ticket so we decided to fly with a different airline. Very customer unfriendly and the employees were rude
"Comfortable Flight & Attentive Service"
Thanks for sharing your balanced review. It’s great to hear that Aeromexico delivered on the core essentials—service, comfort, and food—especially in business class. Your points about the airline’s app and in-flight tech are valid; in today’s digital age, travelers increasingly expect seamless connectivity and entertainment options, so it’s definitely an area where improvement would elevate the overall experience.
"First time, it was good"
That's a helpful breakdown—sounds like Aeromexico impressed with their tech and amenities, but could definitely improve in comfort, especially for taller passengers or longer flights. The blanket and solid entertainment system are great touches, though.
"Mixed review"
Mixed feelings about Aeromexico - we booked 2 business class tickets: from Vancouver to Huatulco & return. The negative: They charged us $165 Cdn for a bike that collapses & fits into a regular size suitcase. Air Canada has NEVER charged us for this bike or any other bike when we fly business class. The positive: flights were on schedule, flight attendants were polite & the service was good. Food was average. On our Huatulco to Mexico City leg, the seats we had booked were in the first row & they were together but for some unknown reason we were seated separately. We'd only use Aeromexico again if the schedule or the price were better than Air Canada.
"Amazing!"
It’s great to hear that Aeroméxico has consistently provided you with trustworthy and reliable service—especially after a negative experience with another airline like Viva Aerobus. Trust and honesty go a long way in air travel, and it’s clear you’ve found a carrier that gives you peace of mind.
"Using Mexico City Airport as a transfer point"
That’s an important and often overlooked piece of advice. While Aeroméxico may provide solid service, the experience at Mexico City’s MEX airport can indeed be overwhelming—especially for travelers unfamiliar with the layout or those with respiratory sensitivities. Your health warning about the air quality is particularly valuable for those with asthma or similar conditions.
"Economy – treated like the class you are."
Thanks for the detailed breakdown—it really helps paint a clear picture of the in-flight experience. It sounds like the flight started strong with a smooth check-in and thoughtful initial amenities, but the long stretch without service or drink availability was definitely a letdown, especially on an 11-hour journey. Not being able to get the crew's attention despite multiple call lights is concerning—especially when basic hydration during long-haul flights is crucial. The entertainment and initial comfort touches like water, pillows, and rest kits are nice perks, though!
"Good flight, but cramped legroom"
Thanks for your review—it’s helpful and honest. It sounds like Aeromexico delivered a smooth and efficient travel experience overall, especially with the direct flight and complimentary baggage check, which are big pluses. The tight legroom is definitely something to consider for longer journeys, though it's good to know you'd still choose them again.
