"Air India Flight review"

Although the flight was delayed by almost an hour, the check-in and boarding processes were smooth and efficient. Unfortunately, the in-flight service did not meet expectations. The snack and juice served were quite disappointing.

"Worst flight of my life"

That sounds like an absolutely awful experience—missing your connection because of the delay, then being forced to wait 12 hours on the airport floor with barely any support is just unacceptable. The lack of working screens, no power outlets, and faulty app only add insult to injury. It’s really disappointing when an airline can’t even provide basic comfort or proper communication. And the food looking so bad it wouldn’t even be eaten by a dog? That’s just beyond poor. Thanks for sharing these details—it really helps others understand what they might face. If you haven’t yet, I’d recommend escalating your complaint directly to Air India’s customer relations or through a consumer protection agency to seek compensation for such a terrible ordeal. Do you want help drafting a formal complaint?

"Terrible Airline Even in Business Class."

Extremely Disappointed – Air India Business Class Still Failing After TATA Takeover Terrible experience overall. I had hoped that things would improve after TATA’s acquisition, but sadly, they haven’t — especially in Business Class. ✈️ The aircraft was in poor condition, even in the premium cabin. 🪑 Many seats were broken or malfunctioning, making it impossible to relax properly. 🤢 The cabin had a terrible odor, and overall cleanliness was lacking. 🍽️ Food was subpar, far from what you'd expect in Business Class. The only positive change post-TATA was that the cabin crew were more polite and professional, which I do appreciate. Unfortunately, Air India holds a monopoly on the direct Chicago to New Delhi route, or I would never choose them again. Until they address these serious service and maintenance issues, I cannot recommend Air India to anyone — especially not for Business Class travel.

"Terrible service, broken check in bags"

That’s really disappointing to hear—having your checked bags damaged and no functioning entertainment screens is a terrible combo. It’s so frustrating when airlines don’t handle luggage carefully and the in-flight experience suffers like that. Did you manage to get any compensation or report the damage?

"AVOID! Worst airline ever!!!"

We endured a nightmare of delays and total lack of support on our recent trip: first a 12‑hour delay in London, then a 6‑hour hold-up in India for our connecting flight. On the return, our initial flight was postponed by 24 hours, yet somehow our connecting flight stayed scheduled for the previous day, making no sense and forcing us to rebook replacement flights at our own expense. Throughout this ordeal, no one at Air India or LoveHolidays would help—we couldn’t get through to customer service, and all LoveHolidays could say was, “We’re working on it,” even as our departure loomed. Their behavior was absolutely useless, unhelpful, and inexcusable. Avoid this airline at all costs: spend a little more for a carrier with reliable scheduling and real customer support, or you’ll pay far more in stress and fees before you even reach your destination.

"Kusum"

I just returned from Mumbai, India, and I had a fantastic surprise at check-in when I was told that I had been upgraded to business class. I was absolutely thrilled! The entire experience was wonderful, with the staff going above and beyond to assist me. I have nothing to complain about. The food, service, and comfort were all top-notch. I truly appreciate the great experience. I travel frequently with Air India, and no matter what others may say, I always enjoy my flights with them. The only issue I had was that the TV didn’t work most of the time, but it didn’t bother me much. Overall, I’m very happy with my experience. Thank you, Air India!

"Unacceptable food quality and terrible experience ever had"

We’ve flown at least twice every year, but this was our very first time flying with Air India—and it was by far the worst and most disappointing experience we’ve ever had. The air conditioning was leaking and eventually went off completely, the food was spoiled, and none of the entertainment screens worked throughout the flight. On top of that, we faced unnecessary hassles from the women at the Sri Lanka airport check-in desk. Given all this, we would never recommend flying with Air India to anyone.

"Lovely Staff, rubbish inflight amenities."

This was my third time flying with Air India, and unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. The staff were lovely, as always, and the food was good. The toilets were clean, which is always a plus. However, both my outbound and return flights were delayed. On the outbound flight, the delay was caused by a lack of staff at the check-in desk on Valentine’s night. There were three flights to check in, and many of us were still waiting in the queue at the scheduled departure time. Additionally, there was no dedicated check-in for cabin bags, which meant we had to wait behind passengers with multiple large suitcases. This was very frustrating, as we prefer to travel with only cabin baggage for speed, even though our ticket includes checked luggage. It would have been much easier to have a separate queue for cabin bag check-ins. I’ve never experienced this issue with Air India before. The in-flight entertainment screens, once again, were not working. No apologies were made for this inconvenience. On a 9-hour flight outbound and an 11-hour flight on the return, it was quite frustrating not to have access to films. I had downloaded one movie on my phone, but it’s far from ideal. If we had been informed in advance, I would have brought a tablet with more downloaded films. Another issue was the discomfort during sleep, as the seats didn’t recline properly. Additionally, the charging socket at my seat was not working. It’s such a shame because the staff are always charming and helpful, but the airline falls short on the basics. After three chances, I’m afraid I doubt I’ll be flying with them again.

"Never fly air India, you will regret it."

That sounds like an absolutely nightmare experience with Air India. Delays, rebooking without notice, losing a whole day of your holiday, then a 24-hour delay causing missed connections and getting stuck abroad — that’s beyond frustrating. Especially after flying thousands of times and never having such a disaster before. It’s totally understandable why you’d swear off them completely and hope they face consequences for such poor service. Thanks for sharing your honest experience — it’s a solid warning for others to avoid Air India if they can.

"Worst airline in all my travels."

Both of our flights were cancelled and we were rebooked on another airline each way—no apologies, no explanations, nothing. I’ve never experienced such blatant disrespect after paying for and booking flights. Don’t expect to arrive when you planned. We had to cancel hotels and shuttles because of the chaos. What a complete mess.

"Good care by Air India after flight was cancelled"

I had an unfortunate experience with Air India, but I must commend the airline for how they handled the situation. Our family of four was scheduled to fly from Tirupati to Delhi on AI-541 on Sunday, 14 April 2024 (PNR UUKALB). We arrived at the airport on time around 12:30 PM and received our boarding passes. However, the flight that was to take us from Tirupati to Delhi had arrived early, but unfortunately, it was hit by a bird during landing and required repairs. Air India staff at Tirupati kept announcing delays every half hour, and after 4 PM, there were no further updates, although snacks and water were provided. By around 6 PM, we were informed that the flight had been canceled, and we were given the option to either take the same flight the next day (which had limited seats) or catch a flight from Chennai to Delhi on Monday, 15 April. As a family of four, we opted for the 8:40 PM flight from Chennai to Delhi (AI 538). Air India arranged for a comfortable bus that accommodated 23 people, and we arrived at Chennai Airport around 12:30 AM. After dropping off passengers for the 6:00 AM flight, we were provided with hotel accommodations in Chennai. We stayed at the Feathers Hotel, which was a decent 4-star property about 30 minutes from the airport. The hotel offered excellent service, providing us with breakfast, lunch, and a free shuttle service. Although there were incomplete announcements at Tirupati Airport, I understand this was due to the repair work details being sent to the DGCA, and their response was delayed. Despite this, the overall experience was well-managed by the staff at both Tirupati and Chennai airports. They ensured smooth transport, hotel arrangements, and the entire experience was handled excellently by the manager and his team.

"Be Prepared for Surprises!"

I traveled on Air India flight AI948 on April 11 from Dubai to New Delhi. The flight departed on time and arrived ahead of schedule, which was great. The crew was polite, and the food was good. I understand that due to turbulence, the serving hours were shortened, and as a result, hot beverages weren’t offered at the end of the meal. While this wasn’t ideal, I appreciate the crew's efforts to maintain safety during the flight. However, there were a few aspects that left me puzzled. First, passengers were made to stand in a queue in the aerobridge for more than five minutes before boarding, which seemed unnecessary. Once we landed in New Delhi, we were informed to collect our luggage from belt 14, but it was actually on belt 13. This mix-up caused some confusion and frustration. Additionally, passengers were told that step ladders would be used for disembarking, but instead, an aerobridge was connected. These discrepancies in communication and the outdated condition of the seats, with old and stained fabric, detracted from an otherwise positive flight experience. Despite these issues, the flight was comfortable, and the crew provided good service. I hope Air India addresses these small but important details for a more seamless experience in the future.

"Looking for my next ride."

My journey was very pleasant, and I must commend the exceptional hospitality. The experience was truly memorable, and I look forward to even more comfortable travels in the future. TATA truly stands for confidence, and it shows in their service. ✈️

"Worst experience in Air India"

Your Air India Business Class experience sounds absolutely disappointing and far below what one would expect from a premium service. Just two rows with a 2x2 configuration on a 4.5-hour flight is already underwhelming, especially compared to their Delhi-Dubai route offering flat beds. Having only 7 out of 8 Business Class seats occupied, with Premium Economy and Economy partially empty, yet facing meal shortages is unacceptable—especially when vegetarian options weren’t available due to limited meal supplies. The fact that the meals served were stale, brought from Delhi and kept on a long journey before being reheated and served, is shocking. Serving such food to your family is simply inexcusable. On top of that, the shortage of basic amenities like pillows despite low occupancy is pathetic. The cabin air conditioning issues, with the crew unable to adjust temperature promptly, only add to the discomfort. It’s a big letdown that after Tata’s takeover, the quality hasn’t improved but seemingly worsened. Air India really needs to address these serious service failures in their Business Class if they want to meet passengers’ expectations. Your frustration is totally understandable.

"Simply great!"

I had an excellent flight experience with Air India. The newly improved AI domestic lounge at Delhi (DEL) was a highlight, offering a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, with motivated team members making it even better. The flight was on time, and the A320neo on the DEL-MAA sector was a pleasant surprise, providing a smooth and modern travel experience. A special mention to the cabin crew, especially Ms. Deepti, who went above and beyond to ensure passengers had a fantastic experience. The meal was tasty and fresh, which added to the overall enjoyment of the flight. Upon arrival at Chennai (MAA), my bags were on the belt in no time, making the entire experience even more seamless. Overall, a superb experience with Air India – from the lounge service to the cabin crew, and even the quick baggage handling. Highly recommend!
