"Average"
My recent flight with Air New Zealand was pretty average. The legroom was decent, and the food was fine—nothing particularly special but sufficient for the journey. The flight itself was very quiet with no turbulence, and it was on time, which was a positive. Overall, it was a smooth experience, but nothing stood out as exceptional.
"Flight was ok, food was not"
We had high hopes for our flight with Air New Zealand, especially since we had flown with them before and had a great experience. Unfortunately, this time was quite different. While the flight itself was okay and we had purchased extra legroom, the food was disappointing. Unlike our previous flight where we enjoyed fruit, pancakes, and other tasty options, this time the choices were more limited. I ended up feeling really sick after eating the rice, which was incredibly dry and had a strange, woody taste. To make matters worse, the flight was very bumpy, and there was a lot of turbulence, which made the overall experience less enjoyable.
"Air NZ are Great!"
Our first trip to New Zealand was made even better thanks to Air New Zealand. Unfortunately, our flight to Auckland was postponed, and the time change meant we would miss our car hire pickup and be stranded overnight. However, the customer service representative at the airport was exceptional. Instead of simply sticking to their flight, they quickly rebooked us on another carrier’s flight that would get us to Auckland in time to meet our vehicle. There was no ego or hassle, just a genuine effort to help us. On our return flight with Air New Zealand, everything was just as great. The plane was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout the journey. I also noticed that the plane felt quieter and cleaner than some other airlines I’ve flown with. Overall, I highly recommend Air New Zealand for their excellent customer service and flight experience.
"Time to upgrade all the destinations"
While Air New Zealand's staff provide great service and work hard to make the experience as pleasant as possible, the business class product feels outdated compared to their competitors. The seating, which still feels like it’s from the 80s, is far behind what other airlines offer in terms of comfort and design. Even though the staff is attentive, the food didn’t live up to expectations and certainly falls short of the high standard set by airlines like Singapore Airlines. Additionally, the beds, which need to be set up by the crew, are uncomfortable—almost like sleeping in a coffin. Overall, while the service is good, the overall business class experience doesn't measure up to what some other airlines are offering today.
"Great flight"
Overall, it was a great flight! The captain kept us well-informed throughout, especially when there were delays, which was much appreciated. The food was surprisingly enjoyable—definitely a pleasant surprise. While the seats weren’t exceptional, they were perfectly comfortable for a 3.5-hour flight. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the entertainment options kept us entertained throughout. The Wi-Fi worked seamlessly, which was a big plus. All in all, I have no complaints. A smooth and enjoyable flight!

I just wanted to express my heartfelt thanks to the wonderful lady who served me at Seoul Airport, Gate 31—Son Songhan. It was by far the best service I’ve ever received, and I truly appreciate her kindness and attention. Thank you so much! 🙏
"New Zealand’s answer to Jetstar"
This is the second flight with Air New Zealand that has been delayed today, and it's really starting to take its toll. The flight crew were fine, but at this point, I’m wondering if I should have gone with Jetstar instead.
"Kiwi essential"
Considering the vast distances within New Zealand, this airline does a great job of covering the travel gap. They operate flights to multiple domestic destinations, making travel management much easier. Check-in is always smooth, and the service provided is top-notch. Flights are consistently on time. My only suggestion would be to have more up-to-date information regarding events like the Auckland flooding in January.
"Super Easy Booking Change"
I’ve flown with Air New Zealand before, and my previous experience was excellent, surpassing the service provided by other carriers on the same route (SYD - ZQN). This time, I needed to change my flight to a different day. Even though I didn’t have a Flexi ticket, Air NZ made the change process incredibly easy online for a small fee. It was completed in just 5 minutes, and I was so impressed that I felt compelled to leave a positive review. From now on, Air NZ will be my go-to choice for all my trans-Tasman flights.
"Wish they still went all the way to UK"
Easy as ever! These guys still manage to keep that charm and efficiency that makes flying enjoyable, even if you know they’ve got their paws on your wallet when it comes to pricing, changes, or extras. The service is friendly and professional, with little touches like handing out sweets before landing. Best of all, the crew genuinely seem to enjoy their job — a rare find these days. A refreshing experience in the skies!

Air New Zealand Limited (Māori: Araraurangi Aotearoa) is the flag carrier of New Zealand, headquartered in Auckland. The airline operates scheduled passenger services to 20 domestic and 28 international destinations across 18 countries, primarily focusing on the Pacific Rim. A member of the Star Alliance since 1999, Air New Zealand has a long history, having succeeded Tasman Empire Airways Limited (TEAL) in 1965.
