Air Tahiti Nui

"My rating is three and a half out of five."
"This flight was pretty average. It’s not a bad airline—I've experienced both much better and much worse. The food and in-flight entertainment were decent, and the staff were pleasant. Given the limited options for flights to Tahiti, I’d probably fly with them again, unless I found a cheaper option with another airline."
"AWFUL DO NOT FLY"
Do not fly with this airline. They’re never on time and don’t honor Global Entry, yet still subjected us to invasive treatment: my son was strip-searched for no reason, and our luggage was inspected on their say‑so—every item tossed about and unbuckled. This all began because they failed to book our return flight, yet we were blamed and treated like criminals despite calling daily to confirm our seats. To add insult to injury, our bags were “lost” and only delivered two hours later. We’ll be taking our $20,000+ travel budget elsewhere—somewhere we’ll actually be treated with respect.
"A comfortable flight on a clean colourful airline"
"We switched to this airline after flying Qantas to Auckland. The flight was comfortable enough, though I always seem to get someone who reclines their seat for the entire flight. Staff should be more aware of this, especially during mealtime, as there’s limited space with the seat in front reclined. I was even asked rather aggressively to bring my seat back upright, even though the seat in front of me was still fully reclined. The meal options were limited, but what we had was fine. The entertainment was good, though I had trouble with the screen freezing periodically."
"Just no"
Avoid this airline at all costs. While the low fares may seem appealing, the overall experience is far from worth it. The app is essentially useless, offering no real functionality. They hit you with excessive fees—$28 AUD just to select a seat! Online check-in isn’t available, so you’re forced to endure ridiculously long airport queues. Even then, you can’t choose your seat; you’re just assigned one at random. On top of all that, expect delays. Lots of them. It’s a frustrating and disorganized experience from start to finish.
"Good flight, incompetent staff"
"We flew from Auckland via Papeete and Seattle to Paris, and returned via Los Angeles, all in Premium Economy. The flight itself was very good, with friendly and attentive crew. The food was decent but could use some improvement, and the entertainment system was acceptable, though not outstanding. However, what let the airline down was the incompetent sales team in New Zealand and the rude ground staff in Los Angeles. Despite trying multiple times to get a rate for the route and class we wanted to book, we were unable to get a clear answer. The ground staff in LA were also unhelpful and acted like they were in charge of a military operation. Despite these issues, if I had to fly again, I would still consider choosing them."
"Nice amenities, Difficult booking system"
"The seats were comfortable, and the new Dreamliner aircraft was quiet. However, the 3-3-3 seating configuration isn’t as comfortable as the old 2-2-2-2 layout on the previous planes."
"My seat was peed in"
Do not fly this airline! Never on time and doesn’t recognize global entry. My son was stripped searched for no reason my luggage was inspected per their request all my stuff I packed had been tossed not even buckled in place. I will send them a dry cleaning bill. All of this because when we first booked our flights they did not book our return flight and we called daily check for seats. So thanks to this airline we will spend our $20,000 + some place that will treat us with respect. Myself and my family had never had a speeding ticket but were treated like we were criminals on the request of this airline. Oh yes our luggage was lost and was delivered on another flight 2 hours later. DO FLY THIS AIRLINE!!!!
"No Dreaming on the Dreamliner"
"What’s the proper etiquette for reclining? Initially, the seat felt roomy and comfortable, but that all changed when the woman in front of me reclined all the way back. It became a safety hazard, as there was no way to move—whether in an emergency or just to go to the bathroom. On a long flight, this could be very uncomfortable. And a word of advice: avoid drinking the water."
"Tahiti bound"
"The trip was good overall, but since Air Tahiti Nui replaced the old planes with the new 787 Dreamliner, passenger comfort has been compromised. The new 3-3-3 configuration in economy replaced the old 2-4-2 setup on the A340, which has resulted in less space for passengers. With one less seat per row, the seating feels more cramped. Otherwise, the service was good. – Chris W"
"Tahiti Trip"
"The flight was amazing! The flight attendants were friendly, funny, and did everything to ensure our trip was enjoyable. The seats were surprisingly spacious, and we fit comfortably. Despite being an overnight flight, it was comfortable enough to get some good sleep!"
