"Great Stay at Anantara"
We had an amazing stay at Anantara with our parents and 11-year-old daughter. The staff went above and beyond, ensuring every detail of our visit was perfect. Their dedication and attentiveness made our time truly memorable.
"Can make it average only due to the restaurant issues."
The suite I stayed in was nicely decorated and very spacious. I initially had some issues with the bed mattress upon arrival, but these were promptly resolved on the second day, allowing me to enjoy a comfortable and relaxing sleep. Unfortunately, the restaurant experience left much to be desired. On my first dinner, a candle was placed in the garlic butter “to release aroma,” but this felt unhygienic as particles from the burning process could fall into the butter, potentially creating health concerns. I ordered the “slow-cooked” Cambodian Lamb Rack Curry (USD 30++), but the meat was not actually slow-cooked. The pieces were cooked separately and then assembled with the bones, leaving part of the meat outside the curry, which made it tough and spoiled the dish. The wine selection was also disappointing. Two red wines I wanted were out of stock, and the remaining options were either low-quality at USD 40–110 or excessively overpriced at USD 200–300. Good Italian wines were entirely missing from the list. Breakfast was the weakest I’ve experienced at an Anantara (I’ve stayed at eight of them). Cold cuts included slices of mozzarella and ham with excessive fat. The so-called smoked fish was prepared Indian tandoori style and tasted unusual. Eggs, juices, and coffee were fine, but overall, the breakfast did not meet Anantara’s usual standards. The highlight, however, was the staff. They were attentive, friendly, and professional throughout my stay—an aspect that deserves recognition. Kudos to the staff for their excellent service!
"Small, quiet hotel"
This hotel offers a beautiful and respectful environment, where the staff genuinely care about your stay. From the warm greeting with a traditional scarf to a delightful foot massage, you feel welcomed from the moment you arrive. Our spacious room overlooked the pool, and anti-mosquito spray was provided and regularly replenished. While water was provided, it wasn’t always topped up, and fridge space was limited, though a bucket of ice helped. Breakfast was outstanding, with freshly cooked Asian and Western dishes, buffet options, and an egg station. The bar offers happy hour, though some wines had been open for a while. Trips arranged through the hotel were fantastic, with an amazing guide and air-conditioned transport. Additional amenities include a small gym (quite warm even with air conditioning) and a spa, though road noise could be noticeable during treatments. Overall, the hotel is lovely, but it’s the exceptionally attentive staff that truly make the experience special.
"Not quite lux"
I had high expectations for this hotel, given its premium pricing compared to other properties in Siem Reap. I booked the Anantara Suite, which is indeed very large and comes with two living areas. However, the design feels somewhat flawed, as one of the living areas is underutilized. The furnishings and toiletries do not quite match the high price point, and the overall feel is not as luxurious as expected. My room was located near the street, and traffic noise made sleeping difficult at times. On the positive side, the service staff was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and genuinely trying their best. They truly deserve recognition. Unfortunately, the room and amenities do not fully justify the cost.
"Amazing Cozy Anantara Angkor Resort"
Our arrival at the resort was truly memorable, thanks to the warm welcome from GM Mr. Supratik Guha and his team, which made us feel like VIP guests. The resort itself is elegantly decorated, creating a sophisticated and inviting atmosphere. The room assigned to us was superb—spacious, beautifully decorated, and fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Every detail reflected quality and attention, making our experience truly special.
"Nice rooms but too pretentious"
Our room was excellent—spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed. However, the hotel’s “aura” left much to be desired. Staff repeatedly referenced a list of inclusions for our room but refused to let us see it. Our reservation explicitly mentioned free transport to downtown, yet our butler denied this service. Rather than engage in constant disputes, we chose not to book any additional services through the hotel, including dining. While the room itself was great, the policies and lack of transparency significantly affected our overall experience.
"Beautiful Setting, Excellent Service, but Excursion Pricing Needs Attention"
We recently stayed at the Anantara Siem Reap, Cambodia, and overall, it was a truly memorable experience. The hotel’s beautiful design and manageable size create an intimate, peaceful atmosphere that immediately makes you feel relaxed. The pool area is stunning and perfect for unwinding, while the spa facilities are exceptional, offering a luxurious and rejuvenating experience. Our room was thoughtfully equipped with all necessary amenities, including a well-curated selection of toiletries, and the bedding was so comfortable it was hard to leave each morning. The attentive and warm staff, combined with a gracious welcome from management, made our stay even more special. While the restaurant food was satisfactory, it didn’t quite match the high standard set by the rest of the hotel. In contrast, the bar was outstanding, boasting a fantastic cocktail menu and skilled bartenders deserving of recognition. One downside was the pricing of excursions organized through the hotel. Transportation was comfortable and drivers excellent, but the hotel markups felt excessive, which slightly detracted from an otherwise wonderful stay. The location is a little removed from central Siem Reap, though Tuk Tuks (around $5 each way) make it easy to reach the town center, and major attractions like Angkor Wat are only 25–30 minutes away. Overall, this is a beautifully designed property with exceptional service, perfect for those seeking a tranquil retreat in Siem Reap. Addressing the excursion pricing would make it an even more remarkable experience.
"A Truly Memorable Facial Experience"
During my visit to the Anantara Angkor Resort spa in Siem Reap, I had the pleasure of a facial with Phearith, and it was truly outstanding. From the moment I arrived, Phearith’s kindness and professionalism put me completely at ease. He took the time to understand my skin concerns and tailored the treatment to suit my needs perfectly. The facial was both deeply relaxing and transformative—my skin felt refreshed, radiant, and rejuvenated. What really stood out was Phearith’s genuine care and attentive presence throughout the session, making the experience as restorative for the spirit as it was for the skin. This was easily one of the best spa treatments I’ve ever had. I left feeling renewed, pampered, and grateful. For anyone visiting Siem Reap, I highly recommend booking a session with Phearith at the Anantara Spa—you won’t be disappointed.
"Stayed for 2 nights"
We stayed at this hotel during our tour of the Far East and had a very pleasant experience. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming, making us feel comfortable throughout our stay. While the property is a short distance from the town center, taxis are easy to arrange and very affordable. We enjoyed visiting the iconic Angkor Wat and exploring the main town in the evenings, which added a wonderful local touch to our trip. The hotel provided a convenient base to relax after full days of sightseeing, offering a peaceful retreat while still being within easy reach of the city’s attractions. Overall, it was a nice, friendly hotel with good service and a great location for exploring both the temples and town.
"Excellent luxury choice for Angkor Wat"
We stayed for three nights and found this hotel to truly live up to its price. Located just a 10–15 minute Tuk Tuk ride from most restaurants and around 20 minutes from Angkor Wat, it’s very convenient. Our room included complimentary Tuk Tuk transfers to and from the town center, easily arranged via WhatsApp—an incredibly practical touch, considering some room types charge around $5 per trip. Check-in was efficient, with a lovely foot ritual as a welcoming gesture. If arriving after the spa closes, you can enjoy it on another day. Airport transfers are available but pricey; we instead booked through an aggregator at a fraction of the cost in a comfortable vehicle. The property itself is stylish and understated luxury—immaculately clean and very comfortable. The advertised photos are accurate. We stayed in a Premium Terrace Room, which is spacious, sunlit, and equipped with a soft mattress. A charming nightly snack as part of the turn-down service was a delightful touch. The only drawback was minor noise from nearby service areas, likely fixable with a door seal and hinge adjustment. The bathroom was generous and split across three areas: vanity and shower, separate toilet, and a bathtub with a rain shower. Water pressure and temperature were excellent, and toiletries were abundant and high-quality. Service throughout the hotel—from reception and porters to housekeeping, the restaurant, and spa—was exceptional. Staff were attentive, proactive, and professional, delivering warmth and attention to detail. Pre-arrival email responses were a bit slow, but this didn’t affect our stay. We enjoyed views of the decorative enclosed pool and the main pool. On-site facilities include a gym, spa, pool table, bar with happy hour, and nightly traditional dances. Breakfast at Restaurant Chi was a semi-buffet with plenty of local options, well-prepared and excellently served. The room also had a convenient retractable international plug unit. Overall, this is an excellent luxury hotel choice for a stay near Angkor Wat, combining comfort, service, and style in a prime location.
