"Shocking Oversight with Expired Food, Needs Immediate Attention"

Today, we discovered expired milk powder in our room (Room 504) that had expired two years ago—on 17th July 2025. This is an unacceptable level of negligence for a hotel of such high standards. While the rest of our stay at Ashoka has been good, serving expired food items is a serious concern and cannot be overlooked. We hope the management addresses this issue immediately to ensure such oversights do not happen again, as it raises serious questions about food safety and quality control.

"Truly Majestic and Highly Recommended"

Fantastic and majestic! I honestly can’t remember any hotel larger than this one, except maybe in Las Vegas. The corridors are stunning, and the rooms are equally beautiful and feel just like home. I loved everything about this hotel—it’s grand, elegant, and incredibly comfortable. Highly recommended!

"Good Service but Property Needs Renovation"

This property definitely needs renovation as the building is quite old. While the service is good and the staff are polite, the overall infrastructure feels dated. It’s convenient that there’s a bank branch and ATM inside, but the other restaurants apart from the coffee shop also require an upgrade and refurbishment.

"Disappointing Experience at the Hotel"

The hotel is large but somehow feels empty, which creates an uninviting atmosphere. Unfortunately, the lobby had unpleasant smells, which was very off-putting. We initially went there for dinner but changed our minds immediately because of this. To make matters worse, the washroom in the lobby area was dirty and had the same foul smell as the lobby. Overall, it was an underwhelming experience, and the hotel felt just "ok-ish" at best.

"Comfortable Stay with Old-World Charm but Room for Updates"

While The Ashok Hotel retains its classic old-world charm, certain aspects could benefit from modernization. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, though the décor may feel a bit dated for some guests. Service is generally attentive and courteous, adding to the overall experience. The hotel offers a wide range of dining options, from casual eateries to fine dining, with diverse cuisines to suit different tastes. The breakfast buffet is particularly impressive, and the extensive banquet and conference facilities make it a popular choice for large events. The outdoor swimming pool is a highlight, providing a refreshing escape during Delhi’s hot summers. However, the fitness center and spa facilities could be considered somewhat limited compared to other hotels in the same category. Overall, The Ashok Hotel provides a comfortable and convenient stay with historical significance. While it may not be the most modern property in Delhi, its legacy and prime location make it a worthwhile option.

"Not within a mile of luxury!!"

I stayed at The Ashok, New Delhi from 15th to 16th September 2024, and apart from the architectural grandeur of the property, everything else was well below five-star standards. From the very beginning, the check-in experience was frustrating. Despite having booked an MAP plan and showing proof, the front desk insisted it was breakfast-only. While the lobby manager later confirmed that one other meal was included, I was unable to redeem it at checkout. The rooms felt outdated and poorly maintained, lacking even basic amenities. Only four small water bottles are provided daily, regardless of the number of guests, and there was no iron in the room. The so-called “complimentary” ironing facility was essentially a cramped closet with a basic iron and no proper setup. Hot water was only available in the shower, not at the sink, and breakfast was average at best, with inattentive staff. Adding to the disappointment, housekeeping staff had a loud argument outside my room on the morning of my departure, completely disregarding guest comfort. Overall, the property felt more like a government guesthouse than a luxury hotel. If I had to sum it up in one word: “Sarkari.” It’s clear that guest feedback is not a priority here, given the consistently poor standards.

"Extremely Poor Service and Coordination – Worst Experience at a Star Hotel"

This was by far the worst service I have ever experienced at a star hotel. There was absolutely no coordination between room service and reception. The coffee maker in the room was leaking, and despite complaining, no one responded. I requested towels at 10:30 PM and never received them until the next morning. I had also informed the staff in advance to provide breakfast in a parcel since my flight was early, but it was not ready when I was leaving. Overall, it was a terrible experience with complete negligence from the staff. Certainly not what one would expect from a star hotel.

"Conveniently Located in the Heart of Delhi"

The property is centrally located in Delhi, making it easily accessible to major points of interest. The airport, central government offices, and commercial hubs such as the World Trade Centre and Bhikaji Cama Place are all in close proximity, making it a highly convenient choice for both business and leisure travelers.

"Disappointing Stay at Ashok Hotel"

I recently stayed at the Ashok Hotel in Chanakyapuri, Delhi, booking a luxury suite for around 20k, and the experience was extremely disappointing. The room had several issues that made the stay unpleasant. The hand shower was not working and had continuous leakage. There were large insects in the room, one of which even bit my child. The hot water kettle was also not functional, and although the staff came to check, they couldn’t fix it and simply apologized. Unfortunately, these were just a few of the many problems I encountered. I am sharing pictures of the issues I faced as it was truly a frustrating experience.

"Disappointing Stay with Poor Service and Outdated Facilities"

The hotel felt extremely old and poorly maintained. The service was below expectations, and the bathrooms, beds, and overall condition of the property did not justify the high price charged. Unfortunately, it was not worth the amount spent.

"Excellent Venue for Meetings with Great Hospitality"

I visited for a client meeting and was very impressed with the experience. The venue offers ample space with state-of-the-art facilities, making it perfect for professional gatherings. The hospitality was exceptional, and the event was very well managed from start to finish.

"Great Location and Safe Rooms but Disappointing Staff Support"

The hotel is truly located in the heart of Delhi, and the rooms are good and secure. However, the lack of helpfulness from the staff leaves a negative impression. Many women choose five-star hotels for safety and reliable support during unexpected or dire situations, but unfortunately, the staff here did not go beyond their rigid rules. This was quite disheartening.
