"Comfortable seats with plenty of legroom but BEWARE excess baggage charges"

This was our first time flying with Asiana Airlines (LHR-INC-DLC-INC-LHR) as a family (2 adults and 1 toddler). We were flying to visit family in China, with a stopover in Seoul both ways. While many airlines have a system where families with young children or those needing assistance can board first, this was not the case with Asiana at LHR. There were no announcements, and the boarding process was disorganized. Passengers were held up trying to find their seats, and it took longer than necessary to stow hand luggage. The gate staff did not seem proactive in assisting passengers who might need extra time or help. On a positive note, the aircraft was clean and comfortable, and the toilets were well-maintained throughout the flight. The food was of good quality, as expected from an Asian airline, and we were pleasantly surprised to receive a hot rice dish even for the short one-hour flight between INC and DLC (both ways). The seats were comfortable with ample legroom, and I (standing at 1.85m tall) did not feel cramped. We were provided with an amenity kit, including single-use slippers, a toothbrush, and toothpaste. Combs and moisturizers were available in the toilets, which was a nice touch. However, the inflight entertainment (IFE) could have been better. There was a limited selection, and the earphones were poor quality. I couldn't hear the audio on the movie, even with the volume turned up all the way, and there were no subtitles available for English films. For long flights like the INC to LHR leg (14 hours), I recommend downloading your own entertainment on your phone or laptop. The inflight staff were professional and courteous, but the level of English we encountered was quite basic, which could be improved, especially since this flight was from and to English-speaking countries. The most disappointing aspect of our trip occurred at Incheon Airport on our return journey. Asiana Airlines is extremely strict about their baggage policy. After using the self-bag drop, we were sent to a ground agent at a counter who weighed our bags, labeled them, and sent them on their way without informing us of any excess baggage fees. We were only made aware of this when the agent handed us a bill for the excess charges. There was no mention of repacking or adjusting our carry-on items, which could have helped us avoid the fees. The agent seemed more interested in charging us for excess baggage than providing a solution. We were told to wait for an hour for our bags to be returned so we could repack, but this was not acceptable. After speaking with a more senior staff member, we were able to have the charges waived, but this experience left a sour end to an otherwise decent trip. So, my advice to fellow travelers is to check the exact weight of your bags before checking in at Asiana Airlines in Incheon, as the ground agents seem to have a very strict and inflexible approach.

"The best value for money"

I had a great experience flying with this airline for the first time. The staff were friendly and polite, and the flight was on time with no delays. The Korean food served onboard was delicious, and the aircraft was clean and convenient. I highly recommend this airline based on my experience!

"Would recommend Asiana"

I wanted to share my positive experience with Asiana, especially as a solo female traveler who wasn’t feeling well. The staff were incredibly helpful and supportive throughout the journey, making me feel well looked after. They even assisted in easily changing my return flight. I truly appreciated their care and kindness!

"Terrible in-flight entertainment selection"

Thanks for sharing your experience—flying six times in three months is no small feat! It's great to hear you generally enjoy Asiana’s service, friendly crew, and good food. Totally fair point about the in-flight entertainment though—when you fly frequently, variety and regular updates become really important. Hopefully, they take that feedback onboard. And unrelated or not, we love a good Alps photo!

"Asiana Airlines, the best"

That's such a glowing review—thanks for sharing! Sounds like Asiana really made your first flight with them a memorable one. It's impressive that they still offer amenity pouches in economy, and having an efficient meal service really makes a difference on long-haul flights. Big kudos to Ms. Park and Ms. Bang—it's always lovely when flight attendants go above and beyond. Here's hoping all your future flights are just as smooth! ✈️😊

"Flight was delayed but experience was good"

I was on this flight on June 17, 2024. Although it was initially scheduled to take off at midnight, it was delayed until 2:30 AM due to a flat tire. Despite the delay, the experience was good, and the staff were friendly and accommodating.

"Worst Customer Support (USA)"

I'm really sorry to hear about your frustrating experience with Asiana Airlines. Long wait times, poor customer service, and language barriers make an already stressful situation even worse, especially when dealing with canceled flights and unexpected charges. It's also concerning that you were asked to share sensitive information like passport and credit card details via email, which raises legitimate security concerns. It might be helpful to escalate the issue by submitting a formal complaint to their customer service department. If you're not satisfied with their response, you could consider reaching out to consumer protection agencies or filing a complaint with aviation regulators. Your safety and trust are paramount, and you deserve to be treated

"Asiana after many years"

Check-in started on time, and I appreciated having the lane for web check-in. Although boarding and arrival in Seoul were delayed, it wasn’t a problem due to the flexible schedule. A good dinner was served, albeit quite late. The staff were very helpful, and the experience reminded me of flying with this airline more frequently in the past.

"Definitely recommended!"

It was a short flight, but it definitely left a great impression on me. The service was lovely, with the crew always smiling and making the flight enjoyable. The food was served quickly and efficiently. The entertainment was great, offering a variety of films, music, and games to keep you occupied. Headphones were conveniently provided in your seat pocket. The staff were also very happy to help whenever needed.

"ASIANA AIRLINE to me you are the number 1 Airline in the world."

I traveled to New York on July 21st, flying from Sydney to Seoul, then from Seoul to New York. I returned on August 31st, flying from JFK to Incheon Seoul and then from Seoul to Sydney. My experience with Asiana Airlines was fantastic! Everything was on time—both departures and arrivals. The flight was smooth, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the food was top-notch. I honestly couldn't find any faults. From now on, I will choose Asiana Airlines whenever I have the chance to fly.

"Good airline."

The aircraft was clean, and the staff were very attentive. The food was good, and the inflight entertainment kept me entertained throughout the flight.
