Au Bourguignon du Marais

"There is much better in Paris"
There are definitely better places to dine in Paris. The food was not particularly good, and the Boeuf Bourguignon was especially disappointing — the meat was tough and lacked the tenderness expected from this classic dish. Unfortunately, even the other dishes we tried were not impressive. Overall, it was not a restaurant we would recommend.
"Worth a visit"
We had a very nice dinner here and truly enjoyed the experience. The food was delicious and the prices were fair, offering great value for the quality. We were seated at a lovely table outside, which added to the charm of the evening. Service was generally attentive, with only a slight delay between courses—nothing that detracted from the meal. Overall, it’s a high-quality restaurant well worth visiting. Reservations are recommended, as it’s a popular spot.
"Nice address to eat well"
Everything was just perfect! The dishes were incredibly tasty, especially the beef bourguignon and onion soup. The service and warm welcome were equally excellent. Truly nothing to change — please stay just the way you are! 😉
"Just Fair…."
We visit this restaurant every year when in Paris, usually for their beef bourguignon and wine, which we’ve always enjoyed. However, this time was disappointing. The stew arrived within five minutes of ordering, suggesting it wasn’t freshly prepared, and the broth was extremely hot and dry. For such a pricey lunch, the experience felt very average compared to past visits. Unfortunately, it seems the quality has declined.
"Contemporary French cuisine in a welcoming environment"
Located in the charming Le Marais district, this restaurant beautifully combines traditional French cuisine with a modern, elegant touch. It’s highly recommended to book in advance, though note that seating inside or outside isn’t guaranteed. We were placed on the outdoor terrace, which turned out to be delightful — the pleasant weather made it easy to soak in the vibrant local atmosphere. The service was friendly and attentive, even if the waiting times were a bit long; however, the delicious dishes made it well worth it. The onion soup was excellent, and the Boeuf Bourguignon was simply exceptional — a must-try! A special mention goes to the crème brûlée, which is not to be confused with the Catalan cream. Prices are fair and in line with the quality offered, making this spot a fantastic choice for an authentic Parisian dining experience.
"Restaurant lives up to its name!"
We had a reservation and were lucky to get the last table outside. Despite being in a fairly busy neighborhood, the atmosphere was still pleasant and relaxed. We received a warm welcome and were served by an extraordinarily kind waiter, who, surprisingly, had only been working there a few days. We started with a glass of champagne, followed by foie gras for me and burrata for my partner — both delicious. For the main course, my partner had the steak tartare, which was excellent, and I enjoyed a boeuf bourguignon served in a small pan with onions, mushrooms, and tiny potatoes in an exquisite sauce. The carafe of open wine recommended by our waiter paired perfectly with our dishes, and we ended with profiteroles, perfect for sharing. A thoroughly enjoyable dining experience — advance booking is definitely recommended!
"This Restaurant Never Disappoints."
When in Paris, a visit to Au Bourguignon is simply a must — especially if you’ve experienced it before. After more than 30 years since my last visit, my wife and I returned for lunch, and it was every bit as wonderful as I remembered. We arrived around 1:30 p.m. and were seated immediately. I had told my wife how good the food was decades ago, and thankfully, it still lived up to every word. We both started with the classic French onion soup, which my wife declared one of the best she’s ever had — and I couldn’t agree more. For mains, I couldn’t resist ordering the Boeuf Bourguignon, featuring tender chunks of beef, perfectly cooked vegetables, and a rich, flavorful gravy that was simply divine. My wife chose the duck with a delicate curry sauce, which she found excellent — beautifully cooked and full of flavor. After weeks of dining around northern France, she said this was the meal she’d been waiting for — and left completely satisfied. Service was warm and efficient, with our waiter adding a touch of humor that made the experience even more enjoyable. Each course was perfectly timed, and the entire meal felt like a true celebration of French cuisine. An outstanding restaurant and the perfect way to end our three months in Europe. Here’s hoping it won’t take another 30 years before we’re back!
"Beef bourguignon was fabulous!"
We had a wonderful experience here — the service was friendly and attentive, and the food was outstanding. The beef bourguignon was rich and flavorful, while the salmon poke was fresh and perfectly balanced. The atmosphere was warm and delightful, making it an ideal spot for a cozy meal in Paris. Highly recommended!
"Recommend"
We visited from around 4:00 to 5:30 p.m., and although the restaurant was half empty, the service was quick and attentive. We started with the onion soup, which was absolutely excellent, followed by the Boeuf Bourguignon and duck — both dishes were delicious and beautifully prepared. The restaurant also has an interesting and charming décor, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience. Highly recommended!
"Pretty good"
Cute and casual place with pretty good service and a relaxed atmosphere. The Beef Bourguignon was good but not fantastic, and while the starters were just okay, the dessert was quite enjoyable. Overall, it was a pleasant enough experience, but probably not a spot I’d return to.
