"Negative review"

This hotel may only be suitable for a short stay of a day or two. It primarily attracts British guests, and the catering is adapted accordingly. The restaurant, or rather canteen, is extremely noisy, with children, strollers, wheelchairs, and dish trolleys clattering between tables, making it difficult to enjoy a meal. The pool area is crowded, with deckchairs packed closely together and often reserved from the early morning. At the pool bar, drinks from the previous evening were not cleared away until mid-morning. The hotel’s exterior, elevators, and bars all show signs of poor maintenance and lack of staff attention. Overall, we regretted our choice to stay here and will not be returning to Barcelo.

"A fantastic hotel with very helpful & friendly staff"

This was our first time staying at a Barceló hotel, but it certainly won’t be our last. The hotel was spotless, and all staff—from the restaurant, cleaners, bar, and entertainment—were brilliant, extremely friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. The main pool area was great, cleaned daily, and being saltwater, it was very refreshing. The location is just a minute from the main road, making it convenient for shops and restaurants, yet the hotel itself is very quiet with no noise from traffic. The whole family thoroughly enjoyed the holiday and were already talking about returning next year.

"Honest review from 2 adults and a teenager"

The hotel’s location is ideal—just a five-minute walk from shops and restaurants, yet far enough away to remain quiet. Popular markets are about a 15-minute walk, and the area felt very safe. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy, with a convenient 30-minute slot to shower and change after check-out at noon. Our deluxe room with a pool view was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The all-inclusive breakfast and evening meals were excellent, and the lunchtime pool bar menu was very good. Overall, the reception staff, cleaners, main restaurant staff, and entertainment team were polite, friendly, and accommodating. During the first few days, it was easy to get sun loungers at both morning and afternoon times. Later in the week, the rules for reserving beds were enforced, with towels on vacant reserved beds being removed. On the downside, most lifeguards remained under sun umbrellas and did not patrol the pool, meaning a small child had to be rescued by a fellow guest. The pool is very deep, and there was no checking of armbands or flotation aids for children who couldn’t swim independently. The mix of half-board and all-inclusive guests led to some confusion, with ice creams, drinks, and slushy machines often unavailable after 5–6 pm, leaving just one overwhelmed bar staff member and a single waiter. Pool service was inconsistent, and some waiters seemed unapproachable. AI guests only receive two bottles of water on arrival, with no regular top-ups—forcing some guests to purchase their own drinks. Evening meals appeared limited to one drink per guest. A small AI cart is available in reception from 11 pm with water, fizzy drinks, brioche, and small cakes, which helped compensate for the gaps in service at the pool bar.

"Topical Spanish break in the sun"

We stayed here for a week in August with our family, including two teenage boys. The hotel is clean, well-located, and peaceful without being noisy. The staff were particularly friendly and welcoming, which made a lovely impression. Our room overlooked the pool and was comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, while dinner was good, though a little too warm for our liking in the evenings. Our boys really enjoyed participating in the daily water polo games. Our only downside was the sunbed situation. While the hotel does not allow towels to be placed on loungers before 9 a.m., by 9:01 most prime spots were already taken, making it difficult to find a space for the rest of the day. Despite this, we had an overall pleasant stay and would recommend the hotel for a family holiday.

"Average hotel but lovely staff"

On arrival, the hotel felt smaller than expected from the pictures. Our room was okay but nothing special; the jacuzzi bath wasn’t worth the extra cost, and a pool view room would have been a better choice. The room felt a bit soulless, with plain white walls, a plastic shower tray that bounced, and a sofa bed in the extra room—two single beds would have been more practical unless your children are happy to share. The safe costs €3 per day plus a €10 refundable deposit. Pool beds are limited, so you need to queue at 9am, and many loungers are left unused for hours. The pool is salt water, but not overly so. Breakfast was average, with no standout items, while the a-la-carte lunch was the highlight—freshly prepared with a good variety. Evening buffet meals were less impressive; vegetables and pasta were often overcooked, and the meat was inconsistent, with one night’s chicken kebab even served raw. Desserts were acceptable. Drinks were a positive—branded spirits in Spanish portions, tasty cocktails, and drinkable house wine. Staying all-inclusive is worthwhile mainly for the drinks and lunches. A nice touch was the late-night snack station in reception after 11pm and free mini ice creams. The hotel’s location is excellent—right on the strip, safe, and with plenty to do. We visited the nearby water park for a few hours, which was enjoyable. Overall, the staff were always friendly, and while the room and buffet didn’t impress, we had an enjoyable stay. I would rate this hotel around 3.5 stars.

"Clean Hotel With Good Food And Great Staff"

Our first impression of the hotel was excellent – everything was clean, and we were welcomed warmly. Arriving late in the evening, after regular meal times, we were pleasantly surprised by a thoughtfully prepared cold buffet for late arrivals. Breakfast and dinner are served in the main dining area near reception, offering an excellent buffet selection of fresh, well-prepared, and tasty food with different dinner themes daily. The staff are attentive and friendly, with Michael and Luca standing out as absolute stars. The reception team is also fantastic, responding promptly to any queries or requests. Lunch is served at the pool bar, but service can be hit or miss depending on how busy it is. There are all-inclusive nibbles available throughout the day, including 24/7 sandwiches and snacks. Drinks included in the all-inclusive package are reasonable but not exceptional; house beer is good, but house wines are lacking. The cocktail selection is limited, and some spirits have confusing additional charges. Poolside waiter service is absent, so you must go to the bar for fresh drinks. Wi-Fi is strong in reception, decent in rooms, but weak around the pool, making social media or messaging frustrating at times. Brochure photos of the pool and loungers are slightly misleading – the pool is smaller than it appears, and the loungers can be scarce, leading to a comical early-morning dash to secure spots. Families with small children often use the main pool, making it overcrowded at times, while the children’s pool remains underused. Given the main pool depth of 1.92m, an age or height limit for children would improve safety and enjoyment. Evening entertainment is enjoyable, featuring singers and variety acts, and the energetic entertainment team runs pool games, quizzes, and kids’ activities throughout the day. Overall, we had a very good experience thanks to the friendly staff and excellent food, though a few small improvements in pool management and drinks service would enhance the stay even further.

"Details to improve."

What I appreciated most during our stay was the friendliness of all the staff—particularly the buffet waiters, who were lovely and attentive. Unfortunately, I cannot give more than 3 stars due to several issues. The quality of the food was low for a hotel of this category, with breakfast needing significant improvement, especially the pastries and sweet options. Dinner overall, including the wine, did not meet expectations for price and quality. The photos of the Jacuzzi rooms do not match reality—you cannot use the Jacuzzi, the room faces the street directly with no privacy, and it is not separated from other guests. While the hotel caters primarily to foreign visitors, it is a drawback that activities are only announced in English, leaving many unable to understand what is happening. The rooms and bathrooms, while not dirty, do not feel pristine or as clean as the photos suggest. The shower soap and bath moisturizer were particularly poor. There was no evening entertainment and no dedicated area to have a drink within the hotel. Overall, despite the wonderful staff, several aspects of the stay did not meet the expected standard.

"Lovely hotel."

This is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic central location. We stayed in a suite, which was one of the best rooms I’ve ever experienced. There was plenty of space for the three of us, with a separate area for our teenager. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and ours was enormous! The balcony was nice, though it only had two chairs. The bathroom was stunning with a great shower. On the first night, we found it a bit chilly and didn’t need the air-conditioning; our daughter used the extra duvet provided, and we kept the air-con off for the rest of our stay. Evening meals were a bit of a mixed experience. While my partner really enjoyed them, I found them slightly disappointing. Each night had a different country or regional theme, but it was hard to tell what it was—some signage would help. For fussy eaters, there were limited “safe” options; our daughter didn’t enjoy the food as pizza and pasta were the only consistent choices. Unfortunately, two of us experienced a 24-hour stomach bug during our stay. The Spa was exceptional. We visited twice for the thermal circuit—90 minutes of sauna, steam room, hydrotherapy pool, jacuzzi, etc.—at £14 per person, which was fantastic value. The staff there were wonderful. Pool beds were advertised as non-reservable, but in practice, many were left unattended for hours and effectively reserved by 9:10 am, especially later in the week as more families arrived. Both pools were lovely, and the children’s pool was a hit with the little ones. The activities team, waiting staff, and cleaners were all fabulous, friendly, and attentive. Overall, we would definitely return, but probably opt for bed and breakfast, as there are so many lovely dining options nearby.

"Comfortable Rooms, But Disappointing Food"

The hotel has a great shower and very comfortable beds, which are definite positives. However, the room floors are not properly cleaned, leaving bare feet constantly blackened, and the pool is saltwater, which may not suit everyone. The biggest downfall is the food, particularly at the lunch bar, where much of the menu is inedible. On the first day, the burger I ordered was raw in the middle, and the chicken burger was so tough it couldn’t be eaten. In the main dining area, the salads are excellent, but hot dishes are a gamble, as meats are often overcooked.

"Brilliant stay would giggle recommend"

There’s nothing to fault at this hotel. It’s clean, the food is great, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely revisit.

"Mixed review"

We stayed in rooms advertised with hot tubs and Balinese beds, but unfortunately these overlooked the main roads, so there were no real views. The Balinese beds were only at the front of the hotel, so we didn’t have access to them. The rooms themselves were clean and comfortable, although the exterior floors were not cleaned regularly. Breakfast was always nice with plenty of options. Dinner, however, was not to our taste, and there were limited choices for children beyond pizza and chips. While there were many options overall, we ended up eating out four nights out of seven. The pool bar was disappointing, with weak cocktails and subpar food, so we largely avoided it.

"Disappointing"

The hotel benefits from an excellent location and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful throughout our stay. However, the property itself is in need of an upgrade, and the food was repetitive, which impacted our overall experience. At first, we wondered if our expectations were too high, but after speaking with other guests who had visited up to six times, it was clear they shared the same concerns. While the service and location are strong points, the hotel would greatly benefit from modernizing its facilities and adding more variety to its dining options.
